“Do you know the Dragon Language?”The old man did not directly answer Jiang Fei’s question.

“A little,”Jiang Fei replied. He had put in a lot of hard work in this area.

“That’s good. It’s very difficult for me to express it clearly in human language…”the old man said and switched to using the dragon language to communicate with Jiang Fei.

As Jiang Fei had studied the dragon language diligently for a period of time, he could completely translate the words that the old man said into his own language and understand it.

“What do you understand about space?”The old man asked. The Dragon language that he spoke was automatically translated into words that were convenient for him to understand.

“Space? I know that we live in a three-dimensional space. Perhaps there are creatures living in a higher dimension than us,”Jiang Fei said, however, in his heart, it was no longer possible that there were creatures living in a higher dimension. That was because those guys had already invaded this universe!

“Oh right, senior, is the fourth dimension of the four-dimensional space time?”Jiang Fei suddenly thought of a question.

“Of course not!”The old man shook his head, then, he said to Jiang Fei, “Time is a special vector. There is time in one-dimensional space and time in two-dimensional space. Time exists in every dimension! Time and space are two different concepts!”

“I see!”Jiang Fei nodded.

“Alright, I have explained the relationship between time and space. Then, can you tell me the relationship between the various spatial dimensions?”The old man nodded and continued to ask Jiang Fei in the dragon language.

“Relationship?”Jiang Fei was stunned. He did not understand what the old man meant by asking this question.

“Alright, let me tell you from the beginning.”The old man sighed, then, he said to Jiang Fei, “The so-called one-dimensional space is a straight line. If there are creatures in this straight line, then in its perspective, there is only one point at the front and one point at the back. It can only move forward or backward.”

“And the countless straight lines form a plane, which is the so-called two-dimensional space. The creatures in this space are no longer limited to moving in a straight line. Instead, they can move up, down, left, and right freely,”the old man continued to say.

“HMM! That is indeed the case!”Jiang Fei nodded, the old man’s description coincided with his knowledge in the world of technology. Although the dragon language’s description of the space dimension was not quite the same as the outside world, it corresponded to the same meaning.

“The three-dimensional world that we live in is actually formed by countless planes. After layers of two-dimensional worlds are stacked together, the three-dimensional world that we live in is formed,”said the old man as he looked at Jiang Fei, then, he continued, “So, it can be imagined that the four-dimensional space is actually formed by countless three-dimensional spaces stacked together.”

“Then, what does the four-dimensional space look like?”Jiang Fei asked curiously.

“If we want to talk about this, we have to start from our understanding of space,”said the old man as he paused for a moment, then, he continued, “I don’t know if you have noticed, but our observation of the world is actually done by reducing the dimensions.”

“What do you mean?”Jiang Fei was stunned.

“Give me an example.”The old man stretched out his hand and a ray of light appeared in mid-air.

“This is a straight line. It represents a one-dimensional space. If there is a living creature living here, then in his eyes, there is only one point in front and one point behind. This represents a living creature living in a one-dimensional space. He can only see a point.”After the old man finished speaking, he waved his hand, the light in midair disappeared and was replaced by a wall of light.

“Look, this is a plane. It represents a two-dimensional space.”Then, the old man waved his hand. Many patterns appeared on the wall of light. There were squares and circles.

“If it is a living creature living on this plane, he can not actually see these squares or circles from his perspective. All he can see is a line facing him.”After the old man finished speaking, he waved his hand again, the wall of light disappeared and was replaced by a solid wall.

“We live in a three-dimensional world. Now, with your perspective, what’s in front of you?”asked the old man.

“A wall!”Said Jiang Fei as if it was a matter of course.

“HMM! That’s right! But this is also a plane! You Can’t see what’s behind the plane. Because you’re a person from a three-dimensional world, you can only see the plane of a two-dimensional world,”said the old man.

“That’s not right! I can see three-dimensional objects, such as this ball!”Jiang Fei said as he took out a ball from the spatial ring.

“Hehe, that’s just an answer that you came up with subconsciously based on a lot of relevant knowledge…”the old man said as he took the ball from Jiang Fei’s hand. Then, he waved his hand, the surrounding light instantly dimmed. At that moment, in Jiang Fei’s eyes, the ball was only a faint round shadow.

“Look, after losing the light and dark contrast, your brain can no longer calculate. The real image in your eyes is only a circle,”said the old man with a smile.

“I see…”Jiang Fei nodded. It turned out that the three-dimensional world in his eyes was only the result of the two-dimensional image sent back by his eyes. His brain then calculated and supplemented the results based on the light and dark contrast and the knowledge of near, large, and far.

“Therefore, a person in a dimensional space can only perceive the space that he is in through the reduction of dimensions. He is unable to see the true face of the space that he is in!”The old man finally came to a conclusion.

“I see!”Jiang Fei nodded. No matter how fascinating the scenery in the picture was, the creatures in the two-dimensional space could only see straight lines. The three-dimensional world was colorful and colorful, in the eyes of the people, it was just a mosaic of pictures. Although Jiang Fei was a little disappointed by the answer, it was the truth.

“So, you understand now,”the old man smiled, then, he continued, “The so-called four-dimensional space is the product of countless three-dimensional space stacking up. Of course, this stacking up is not as simple as building a house with bricks. The stacking up is still a three-dimensional world. This stacking up is structured in a way that we can not understand. The people there can see through our world just like we can see through the essence of the two-dimensional world. The world in their eyes is made up of real three-dimensional images. Because we can not observe the real three-dimensional world, we can not describe their world.”

“Could it be that the people of the three-dimensional world can’t even imagine what the four-dimensional world looks like?”Jiang Fei asked.

“No!”The old man shook his head and said, “However, I have found something interesting. This might help you solve some of your doubts.”

“What interesting things?”Jiang Fei immediately asked.
