”How far did you have to fall for you to become common assassins chasing down your former masters?”

Once he said this, Harold felt a surge of anger wash over the entire region as both Reaynar and Jack scowled! It was obvious that Harold had hit very close to home for them, and he glanced behind him as Jack spoke up angrily!

”Don’t you dare speak of our faith! Our faith is to the throne of Avaran and we serve the master we believe is fit for it! Your father has failed our people, and so it is our duty to ensure he can no longer sully the throne with his presence!”

”And what does that have to do with my siblings and I? If you hate my father that much, then go find him and settle your score. Don’t bring us into a war that does not concern us.”

Jack chuckled as Reaynar’s sword began to glow with red power, and Jack spoke up with intensity!

”This war has always concerned you and your siblings! We will settle the score with your father in due time, but first we will rid the world of all the obstacles blocking our path!”

BOOM!

Jack immediately dashed forward as a long staff appeared in his hand, and his appearance changed to resemble a young man with blonde hair and black eyes! Jack’s main ability [Shapeshift] allowed him to take on the appearance of anyone that he sees, and by studying his target closely, Jack is capable of even copying their movement and fighting style perfectly! The staff in Jack’s hand morphed along with him as it grew blades from both ends, and Jack spun the weapon around a few times and brought it down on Harold in a perfect vertical swing!

Slash!

BOOM!

But before Jack could complete the swing, Harold’s body erupted in a massive explosion that sent fire and ice scattering across the landscape, and Jack narrowed his eyes as he realised Harold had used a skill to escape! Jack turned to his left, and he saw Harold’s figure dashing across the ice quickly!

”After him!”

Reaynar crouched and blasted off the ground to chase Harold down, and it didn’t even take three seconds for her to catch up to him and unleash a slash of her own!

BOOM!

Harold barely managed to jump to the left in time, and the world shook as Reaynar’s slash slammed into the ground! Harold activated a rune on his hand that boosted his strength, and he roared as he spun around and slammed a metallic fist right into Reaynar’s cheek!

BOOM!

The punch exploded with a blast that sent Reaynar back a few steps, and Reaynar touched her smoking cheek in surprise before looking at the armor on Harold’s fist.

’Dwarven forged metal.’

Reaynar narrowed her eyes once she noticed that Harold was using armor made by the high dwarves of the tenth domain! The armor was so recognizable that Reaynar couldn’t miss it no matter what! But Reaynar was shocked because she knew how difficult it was to get armor like this! How in the world did Harold manage to find it?

Woosh!

Clang!

But Reaynar’s thoughts were cut short as Jack immediately appeared from behind her and lashed out with two long swords! This time, Jack had changed his appearance to look like an older woman with short blue hair and green skin, and Harold raised his two arms and used the metallic armor to block the attack! Harold grunted as he was nearly sent to his knees, and he quickly pulled back and sent his fist to the side to block a slash from Reaynar!

Clang!

Clang! Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The sound of metal striking metal echoed through the frozen tundra, and sparks flew through the air as Harold did his best to hold off both attackers at the same time! The rune Harold had activated to increase his strength glowed with a burning hot red as Harold pushed all of his mana into it to make sure he didn’t fall behind the strength of the two attackers, and Harold roared as he lashed out with a punch and sent it straight towards Jack’s head!

Woosh!

But Jack quickly transformed into a younger girl and grew shorter so that the punch sailed harmlessly over his head! Jack spun around and planted his hand on the ground before slamming his feet into Harold’s stomach and sending him flying back, and Harold grunted as an intense pain shot through his entire body!

Slash!

Reaynar’s sword came down fast, and Harold had to quickly move to the side to avoid getting his arm cut off! Instead, the blade simply grazed along his chest and left a long cut that immediately began to bleed madly! Harold activated a healing skill subconsciously, and the wound began healing as he dashed forward to confront Reaynar! Reaynar tried to slash Harold again, but Harold used his palm to block the attack!

Clang!

The dwarven metal allowed Harold to absorb the impact of the sword, and Harold immediately spun and slammed his palm into Reaynar’s side before activating an explosive spell!

KA-BOOM!

The entire region erupted in a massive blast, and both Harold and Raeynar were blown away! Harold flew back for almost a mile before crashing into the ground while coughing heavily!

Woosh!

Harold quickly turned to the side, and he barely managed to avoid getting impaled by Jack’s long spear! Harold planted his hands on the ground, and he tried to execute an axe kick that would give him some space, but Jack easily dodged it before launching a punch straight into Harold’s stomach!

BOOM!

”Grk!”

Harold coughed up blood as he was thrown into the air, and he slammed into the ice hard before sliding back and hitting his head on a frozen rock! The smoke from Harold’s attack on Reaynar finally cleared up, and it revealed that Reaynar didn’t have any injuries on her at all! Reaynar simply waved away the excess smoke and walked up to stand beside Jack.

”I suppose he isn’t a prince for nothing. Even though we’re both stronger and older than him, his skills in battle are undeniable. If it were just one of us, he might’ve managed to escape.”

Jack said this while resting his spear on his shoulder, and Reaynar hummed in agreement and spoke in a mysterious voice.

”A lion only gives birth to a lion. He is his father’s son.”

Jack huffed.

”Well, it doesn’t matter now anyway. This lion has been captured. We’ll take him back to headquarters and hand him over to Lord Gregory. We can’t have him interfering with our plans.”

Reaynar nodded, and she began moving forward to help Jack secure Harold, but they both stopped in their tracks as a sudden pressure settled over the battlefield!

DOON!

But Jack and Reaynar turned back towards the direction where the fight had started, and they felt their eyes widen in surprise when they realised that someone had just opened a Dimensional Tear! This shouldn’t be possible! Jack immediately turned to Reaynar!

”Didn’t you set up the Synchronization Distortion!?”

”I did! No one should be able to come here for at least an hour!”

Jack’s eyes narrowed once he heard this, and he quickly turned to look at where Harold was lying unconscious! It was him! Jack immediately realised that Harold was the one responsible for this! Is that why Harold spoke to them for so long when they were standing back there!? He was setting up the rune that would allow him to synchronize the magic in this region!
