In the center of the inner chamber was a recliner where the Queen could relax, but the person sitting there right now didn’t look anything like the confident Queen Jamat had once known. Queen Diane looked like a mess. Her hair was scattered, and her clothes were dirty. She was sitting with her head bowed, but Jamat could tell that the look in her eyes would show nothing but pure rage! Diane’s entire body was so tense that Jamat knew she was just a moment away from lashing out at anything around her, and even though Jamat understood why she was like this, that was no excuse for her to treat their servants so disrespectfully.

”Must you hurt the poor servants so much when they are only trying to serve you?”

Jamat finally spoke up after a few seconds of silence, and Diane’s head rose slowly to reveal her frowning face. Diane looked at Jamat with a withering glare before she clicked her tongue and turned away.

”Leave me be, Jamat. I am in no mood for your complaints.”

Jamat felt some irritation enter his body, and he spoke up with a frown.

”You are a Queen, Diane. I understand that things did not go the way you hoped in the recent council meeting, but you cannot ignore your duties to your people and world because of that.”

”You... understand? Did you just say you understand!? Tell me what you understand!? What gives you the right to say that you understand, JAMAT! YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING!”

Slam!

Sometime in the middle of her screams, Diane had gotten to her feet with a furious expression on her face, and Jamat took a step back in fear as Diane lashed out with a fist to strike the wall beside her! The entire castle trembled from the blow, and Diane glared at Jamat as she continued!

”THOSE PEOPLE RIPPED MY RIGHT AWAY FROM ME!? THEY TREATED ME LIKE I’M SOME SECOND RATE! THEY DARED TO OVERLOOK ME IN FAVOUR OF SOME MAN FROM A BACKWATER WORLD!? YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING JAMAT!”

Diane’s eyes were turning blood red from the sheer anger she could feel inside her! Just thinking about that meeting was enough to piss her off! It wasn’t just the fact that Jason had won the favour of the council that irritated her, but it was the fact that she had lost to a man of all people! Jason’s power had been so unnatural, and Diane still couldn’t believe that Jason had only gained his abilities a few months ago! There was no way that man wasn’t using some form of dark magic to boost his power! Diane just couldn’t swallow this humiliation! She couldn’t!

”You need to look past this, your majesty! Your people need you now more than ever! We can all sense your anger, and it is making everyone in the kingdom go crazy! If you do not rein in your magic and anger, then there is no doubt that we will make a mistake that puts us on the wrong side of the council! You could throw your people into another war because of this!”

”And who cares about the council!? You fear them more than you fear me, Jamat! Is that it!? You don’t think I can handle the council!? You think a man is better than me!?”

”I never said that, your majesty. I am just trying to advise you—”

”I don’t need your advice!”

Woosh!

Bang!

Diane suddenly threw a large metal vase towards Jamat, and it was only Jamat’s quick reflexes that prevented him from losing his head at that moment! Jamat ducked, and the vase slammed into the wall behind him and created a large dent in the wall! Jamat knew without a doubt that if he hadn’t dodged, he would’ve died right there! Jamat grit his teeth in anger at that moment, and he shouted right back at Diane!

”If I cannot advise you, then what is the point of us being married!? I am the only one who can talk to you at this moment, and if I don’t tell you the truth, then who will!?”

Jamat could feel his heart beating faster as he saw the angry look on his wife’s face! Diane’s entire body was wound up like a spring that was ready to explode, and Jamat knew that one misstep from him would mean the end of his life! But Jamat didn’t care! He couldn’t allow the Queen to continue acting like some tyrant! Diane’s magic was far too potent, and it was obvious that she always poured her emotions into her magic, so whatever she was feeling could also be felt by many of the people in their kingdom! When Diane was happy, the people were happy, and when she was sad, the people were also sad. But right now, Diane’s anger was only pouring fuel on a massive fire in the hearts of the people, and Jamat knew that if they didn’t handle this right now, someone would eventually decide to go and get revenge for the Queen! They couldn’t afford to go into a war with the council when it was obvious they would lose!

”You—!”

Diane’s eyes narrowed even more, and Jamat felt an intense fear fill his body as Diane’s mana suddenly washed over him! Jamat took multiple steps back as Diane walked towards him, and Diane grabbed Jamat by the collar and brought him closer before she sneered in his face!

”Don’t you ever think that you can talk to me like that. You wish to advise me? You are nothing but a pathetic man. What sort of advice can I gain from your worthless experiences? Don’t forget that you are just one of many men fit to be my husband in this kingdom. I have had many husbands before you, and if you ever step out of line like this again, then I will simply take on another husband and get rid of you. Know your place, Jamat.”

Diane threw Jamat to the ground like he was trash, and she frowned in disgust as Jamat coughed in pain from how tightly she had held him! Diane felt a bit of guilt for what she had just done, but she pushed down that guilt and simply turned away! Jamat was starting to get too bold, so maybe it was time for her to find another man to be her husband. After all, men were only good for sex, so it didn’t matter which one she married or how many times she changed them.

”!”

Diane was about to say something, but she suddenly felt a chill go down her spine as a foreign power filtered through the room! Diane moved towards the wall behind her and grabbed one of the swords there before she glared in the direction the power was coming from.

”Show yourself!”

Diane spoke in a loud voice, and Jamat began to wonder what had gotten into her. Jamat was far weaker than Diane, so he couldn’t feel the changes that Diane could feel. Diane knew that this power wasn’t mana, but it was still something dangerous. Diane waved her hand for Jamat to move, and Jamat sensibly crawled away from where Diane was standing as Diane took a step forward and narrowed her eyes even further.

”I said, show yourself!”

”You don’t need to scream, you crass woman. Especially with such a deep, unseemly voice. Women should be more mindful of their volume, and their tones should be quaint and enjoyable. The last woman who spoke to me in such a way had her throat removed so she can no longer speak without permission. You will do well to remember that.”

A voice echoed through the room, and Diane watched as a portal suddenly opened in front of her.
