The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

”Sylvia, what on earth is this? Why did you take all the valuable materials out of the warehouse?” A middle-aged woman gasped for breath as she pointed angrily at Sylvia.

Sylvia, holding the list of items Nolan had requested, glanced at her indifferently without a hint of fear.

”I need them. Is that a problem?”

”You…” The woman grew even angrier and snapped, ”You can’t just do that! Do you have any idea how valuable those materials are?”

”I know,” Sylvia replied calmly. ”And I need them.”

That same response only made the woman’s breathing grow even more labored. Her hand, pointing at Sylvia, trembled violently.

”That reason is unacceptable! Return all those materials to the storage room! Otherwise, I’ll report you to the other Great Sages!” she threatened.

However, Sylvia didn’t flinch in the slightest. The woman standing before her was one of the Great Sages—the Great Sage of Arcana.

Although she held the title of Great Sage, she was far below Sylvia in terms of seniority. Yet she had never shown Sylvia any respect.

That was because Sylvia had defeated her in a contest decades ago. The contest had determined the new leader of the Tower of Silence.

If there was anyone in the Tower of Silence who hated Sylvia, the old woman standing before her would be the first.

”Great Sage Arcana, what I’m doing is none of your business. Mind your own,” Sylvia replied coldly.

Ignoring the old woman, she ordered the workers to hurry and retrieve the remaining materials.

Nolan was already waiting for her, and she didn’t want to disappoint him.

Great Sage Arcana was furious at Sylvia’s arrogant attitude.

”Fine... Fine! Just because you’re the Tower Master, you think you can do whatever you want, don’t you?” she snapped, panting as she struggled to keep her anger in check. ”I’ll report you to the other Great Sages!”

With that, she turned and stormed off.

Sylvia watched her leave, a faint smile playing on her lips.

”What’s the matter, Great Sage Arcana? Why do you look so angry?”

An old man looked at Great Sage Arcana in surprise. The others around him were just as curious.

Great Sage Arcana suppressed her anger and pointed in the direction she had come from.

”Sylvia has gone insane!” she growled. ”She took a large amount of rare materials from the storeroom. I asked her what she was doing, but she refused to answer! This is absolutely infuriating!”

Everyone was shocked by her words. They were all Great Sages, just like Great Sage Arcana.

Apart from Sylvia, they held the highest authority in the Tower of Silence.

”Can you explain in more detail?” Great Sage Morecle asked cautiously.

She looked to be around thirty years old, making her the youngest-looking among them. However, only those close to her knew she was already over a hundred years old.

She was also Sylvia’s junior sister in the order and had always supported her.

Great Sage Arcana sneered. ”Didn’t I already make myself clear? She took all the rare materials from the Tower of Silence’s storage. I asked why she needed them, but she wouldn’t tell me. I’m sure she’s planning something big. She just doesn’t want anyone to know yet. We need to interrogate her!”

The others looked at each other, realizing the situation was more serious than they thought.

”Alright,” Great Sage Dawn said, getting to his feet. ”Let’s go find out what she’s up to ourselves.”

Great Sage Arcana led the group to find Sylvia.

Sylvia didn’t notice them approaching. She was too busy directing the workers as they carried the items out of the warehouse.

A few minutes later, everything was finished, and one of the workers reported to her.

”Great! Thank you. You can collect your pay from the finance department,” she said gently.

The worker smiled and nodded.

After he left, Sylvia looked at the pile of materials in front of her with a satisfied smile.

”With this, Brother Nolan’s order is complete. Now—”

Before she could finish, an angry voice rang out behind her.

”Sylvia!”

Sylvia frowned. Though hidden behind a blindfold, her eyes turned cold as she looked at the approaching Great Sage Arcana and the other Great Sages.

”Look!” Great Sage Arcana pointed at the pile of materials beside Sylvia. ”These are all valuable materials that are incredibly hard to find. Yet she’s taking them out so casually. I’m sure she’s up to something behind our backs.”

The Great Sages looked at the pile of materials with puzzled expressions.

”Senior Sister, this...”

Great Sage Morecle was about to say something, but Sylvia calmly cut her off.

”I need them.”

”But what do you need them for?” Great Sage Dawn asked, furrowing his brow. ”Please explain. Every one of those materials is extremely valuable. It would take hundreds of years to gather them again.”

The others looked at Sylvia with questioning expressions.

Sylvia had expected this reaction and remained unfazed.

Her expression stayed calm as she explained, ”An important person has asked for my help.”

”An important person?” Everyone was taken aback. Great Sage Dawn asked in confusion, ”Who?”

Sylvia gave a faint smile.

”The Singularity of Chaos.”

As soon as the name was spoken, the atmosphere fell silent. Even Great Sage Arcana stood there with her mouth agape, as if unable to believe what she had just heard.

”T-The Singularity of Chaos?” Great Sage Morecle asked in disbelief.

Sylvia nodded. ”That’s right. That man needs all these materials, and I want to help him. Although it may seem like a loss at first, it’s a worthwhile investment. Imagine if one day we face a problem we can’t solve on our own. The favor we’re doing for the Singularity of Chaos will surely come in handy, won’t it?”

Sylvia hadn’t brought up the name ”Singularity of Chaos” without reason. She had already asked Nolan for permission, and he had agreed.

After all, the name Singularity of Chaos carried immense weight. Without even needing to use the token Nolan had given her, this matter should be resolved easily.

Great Sage Arcana finally snapped out of her daze. With a dissatisfied look on her face, she challenged, ”Then prove it to us!”

The others nodded. They were all thinking the same thing.

Sylvia wasn’t surprised, as if she had expected this all along.

With a snap of her fingers, a black mask appeared in her hand.

Holding it up, she asked, ”Isn’t this proof enough?”

The moment the six of them saw the mask, their eyes widened in shock.

It was the mask worn by the Singularity of Chaos.

Suddenly, the mask started trembling before releasing a pitch-black light.

As everyone watched in stunned silence, the avatar of a masked man in a black cloak appeared above the mask.

Great Sage Morecle froze.

That man was none other than the Singularity of Chaos.
