Invincibility Begins with a Super Fairy Manny

Chapter 2411: Chapter 2412: Scheme

Si Daoyuan drank his depressing wine gulp by gulp. The sound of a woman crying nearby made his expression so gloomy that it seemed water could almost drip off his face.

”Wuwuwu, my poor Guang Zhong, how could you just die like that? What am I supposed to do now!”

Sitting opposite Si Daoyuan was a woman with disheveled hair, presently covering her face as she sobbed.

Si Daoyuan, overwhelmed with annoyance, slammed his cup heavily on the table, ”Enough, stop crying, it’s irritating!”

The woman ceased her cries and looked up at Si Daoyuan, ”My lord, is Guang Zhong going to just die in vain?”

The speaker was Si Guangzhong’s biological mother, and also the favored concubine of Si Daoyuan, named Nian Shuang.

Now that Si Guangzhong had fallen, she, as his mother, was naturally filled with grief.

Si Daoyuan frowned and sighed softly, ”I’m also very saddened by Guangzhong’s death, but he died at the hands of the Shen Family, what else can be done?”

Nian Shuang’s face showed hatred, ”But why did that Ming Qi guy return unharmed? He never got along with Guangzhong, there’s definitely a hidden secret here. My lord, you might as well kill him directly to avenge Guangzhong!”

Si Daoyuan sneered, ”You don’t need to worry about that. Now isn’t the right time to take action, but after a while, once the situation cools down, I’ll find a way to make him pay for Guangzhong’s life!”

The words were filled with hatred, with no trace of a father’s affection.

Hearing this, Nian Shuang was satisfied and poured another cup of wine for Si Daoyuan.

”My lord, I heard something went wrong with the Lou Family’s affair? Why did the Shen Family people suddenly intervene?”

Si Daoyuan sighed deeply, ”Who knows? I’m worried about that too. If the Shen Family really interferes in this matter, it won’t be easy to deal with!”

”What’s so hard about it? At worst, we’ll just voluntarily give up,” Nian Shuang said.

”Haha, it’s not that simple! The Shen Family is an unparalleled noble family, not inferior to the ancient Bai Family. If they suddenly make a move, it’s obvious their target isn’t just this matter!” Si Daoyuan said anxiously.

”You don’t need to worry too much, my lord. As the saying goes, there will always be a way through the hills. Our Si Family is one of the ten great families in the Pharmacists’ Alliance and has some influence. Even if the Shen Family wants to act, they have to weigh their options!” Nian Shuang comforted him.

After hearing this, Si Daoyuan chuckled softly, then embraced Nian Shuang, ”You’re so considerate!”

Just as the couple were discussing the matter in the room, a voice suddenly called for an audience from outside.

”Family Head, Elder Yicheng requests an audience!”

”Oh? He’s here? Quick, let him in!” Si Daoyuan immediately stood up, speaking urgently.

He relied heavily on Si Yicheng, who made decisions on many matters. Especially for this issue, he needed to discuss it properly.

Nian Shuang hurriedly tidied her disheveled hair and had just seated herself when Si Yicheng came in with a smile.

”Greetings to the Family Head and Second Madam!”

”Ah, Yicheng, sit quickly! Has there been any change in the situation?”

Si Yicheng sat down on a chair, sipped some tea leisurely, then said calmly, ”Family Head, please stay calm. I’m here precisely to talk about this matter.”

”Oh oh, no rush, no rush. Someone, serve food and drink!”

In the blink of an eye, a sumptuous banquet was laid out.

After the two sat down, Nian Shuang served wine and tea.

After three rounds of wine, Si Daoyuan couldn’t wait any longer and said, ”Yicheng, tell me, what’s going on? Have you investigated the matter I asked you to?”

Si Daoyuan was no fool and understood that this matter wasn’t simple, so he specifically asked Si Yicheng to investigate the exact cause of Si Guangzhong’s death.

Upon hearing his words, Si Yicheng smiled slightly, put down his cup, ”Of course, it’s been thoroughly investigated. In fact, this has nothing to do with him, Young Master Guangzhong died because of the leaked Sword Qi!”

Si Daoyuan was slightly startled, while Nian Shuang’s expression changed drastically.

”How is that possible, then why was he the only one who came back while others didn’t? I don’t care, he has to pay for Guangzhong’s death!”

”Alright, alright. Since Second Madam has spoken, we can find an excuse to deal with him after the matter is settled,” Si Yicheng said nonchalantly as he looked at Si Daoyuan.

”Family Head, but that’s not the main reason I’m here!”

”Oh? Then what’s the reason?”

”Do you know why the Shen Family suddenly appeared here?”

Si Daoyuan immediately sat up straight, asked intently, ”Why?”

”The Shen Family didn’t come because of the matter between our Si Family and the Lou Family. Their real target is a young man named Xue An!”

Si Daoyuan shuddered, ”Is this true?”

”Absolutely true!”

Si Daoyuan felt a weight lifted off his heart, and with great relief, he burst out in laughter.

”Good, good, good! No matter the reason, as long as they’re not here for our Si Family, that’s fine! Yicheng, you’ve worked hard, here’s a toast to you!”

Si Yicheng smiled as he drank his cup of wine, then cleared his throat and continued, ”I’ve investigated clearly, that young man named Xue turned out to be the notorious young man from the Bing Family that was spreading rumors a while back!”

”Oh?” Si Daoyuan put down his wine cup.

Although they were far apart, he had heard about what happened in the Bing Family.

”What’s the story behind it? Why is the Shen Family after him?”

”I don’t know. I just heard that the young man surprisingly holds a Shen Family Sword Heart in his hand, and hence the Shen Family needs to investigate it!”

Hearing this, Si Daoyuan’s face changed as well.

The importance of the Shen Family Sword Heart was self-evident. Moreover, with this recent battle, Xue An unexpectedly killed the people sent by the Shen Family. With these two matters combined, it would likely be even harder to end this peacefully.

”Hiss, if this involves the Bing Family as well, then it becomes even more complex!” Si Daoyuan said, inhaling sharply.

”Exactly, but in any case, these matters have nothing to do with our Si Family anymore!” Si Yicheng laughed.

”Yes, yes, this is good, this is good. You’re really prudent, Yicheng, I’m glad I listened to your advice and didn’t act rashly at the time! Come, have another drink.”

Another cup of wine went down.

For some reason, Si Daoyuan seemed less tolerant of alcohol today. After only a few drinks, his face was flushed, though his expression remained excited.

”Yicheng, you said that if this is the case, do we still have a chance to get that thing from the Lou Family?” As he said this, Si Daoyuan’s face was full of greed.

”What?” A subtle, imperceptible cold glint flashed in Si Yicheng’s eyes, and he said blandly, ”That thing...is the Family Head still unable to forget it?”
