After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1742: Chapter 471: Kevin’s Newest Tea Endorsement

He’s been both a rival and a teammate with Huang Kaiwen.

Terry knows all too well about Huang Kaiwen’s dominance in the UEFA Champions League.

”By the way, I met Frank Leboeuf a few days ago, and he talked about your early embarrassing moments at Chelsea.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”That bastard!”

Terry pretended to be angry and said, ”Back then, he had a conflict with the coach and got kicked out by him!”

When he was still a newbie in the first team, Leboeuf was already a mainstay for Chelsea.

At that time, Leboeuf had a clash with the head coach Vialli.

After a few exchanges, Wenger came over and greeted them, ”It’s really a shame that you left the Premier League.”

”Shouldn’t that be a good thing? At least Arsenal wouldn’t have to fear losing by large scores anymore.”

Ancelotti raised an eyebrow and joked.

Wenger shook his head and said, ”We’ve had a tough time winning the league in the past few years, so whether Kevin is at Chelsea or not doesn’t matter much, but since he left, the Premier League’s broadcasting and sponsorship have started to decline, affecting our revenue.”

Being someone who studied economics, the professor thought through these aspects very clearly.

Even though every time Huang Kaiwen played against Arsenal it resulted in big scores, he still wished Huang Kaiwen could stay in the Premier League.

This summer, sponsors were noticeably less enthusiastic, and some sponsorship contracts previously included clauses related to Huang Kaiwen or broadcasting.

So even long-term contracts began to lower their sponsorship fees due to Huang Kaiwen’s departure.

This is the best demonstration of the superstar effect.

”You pretend to be indifferent all the time, but you’re actually quite pleased.”

Before Sir Ferguson appeared, his Scottish-accented English was already heard.

Wenger smiled helplessly, this old fellow always likes to spoil things.

”I was speaking the truth.”

The professor said helplessly.

”But it’s not fake that the reporters captured photos of you celebrating. A friend told me that they caught even more embarrassing ones, but you paid to keep them from hitting the news.”

Sir Ferguson said mercilessly.

These two have grown fond of bantering with each other over time.

Huang Kaiwen noticed more and more people entering the hall.

This time FIFA seemed to have invited quite a few football legends besides the current players.

This was a good opportunity for them to expand their influence.

Open and hidden battles between UEFA and FIFA are intense.

UEFA is the most powerful of the continental football federations and could be said to dominate the mainstream football world.

Thus, UEFA is unwilling for FIFA to meddle in European football affairs.

Of course, FIFA has its eyes on this lucrative area, as European football is of the highest standard and has the most fans globally.

Both parties vie for control of European football.

Many times, if UEFA agrees to something, FIFA will directly oppose it.

It’s not a matter of right or wrong, but rather of differing positions.

Just before the ceremony started, the group found their respective seats.

The players who performed well last season sat in the front row.

To Huang Kaiwen’s left sat Cristiano Ronaldo, and alongside him were a few Real Madrid players.

Cristiano Ronaldo nodded in greeting to Huang Kaiwen but didn’t say a word.

Huang Kaiwen also nodded in return.

The opening featured a classical dance.

A dance in the style of Greece.

Just as many nations claim to be authentically Roman, in many instances, Greek culture is more widely accepted.

Ramos whispered, ”I feel like they should have just gotten Shakira instead.”

Huang Kaiwen: ...

He really didn’t know how to respond to that.

However, Shakira is indeed talented in dance, a fact the Yellow Ball King has verified himself.

The show began without any suspense, the big screen directly announced last season’s best eleven players in the football world.

Goalkeeper: Casillas,

Defenders: Ashley Cole, Terry, Puyol, Ramos,

Midfielders: Sneijder, Xavi, Iniesta,

Forwards: Huang Kaiwen, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi.

Although Chelsea secured the most honors, many players didn’t particularly stand out in many aspects.

In some sense, Mourinho’s team truly embodies team football.

Many players scored crucial goals, and quite a few played in multiple positions.

Ashley Cole missed quite a few matches but won the award entirely because of his performance in critical games.

Huang Kaiwen reached across Ramos to comfort Kaka: ”Don’t worry, next year will be different.”

After Yellow Ball King returned to Milan, Kaka was immediately freed.

Previously, the opponents had marked him too tightly, and with aging, his performance inevitably declined.

But after Huang Kaiwen returned to Milan, the situation changed drastically, and Kaka’s recent performances have proven this point. Huang Kaiwen drew more defensive attention, giving Kaka more space.

Next, the two hosts began the next section.

”Over the past season, there have been many marvelous goals. Let’s take a look. By the way, one of the namesakes of the Kevin & Puskas Award is sitting here.”

The audience burst into good-natured laughter.

Huang Kaiwen nodded.

Fans vote on FIFA’s official website to select ten candidate goals.

The video began with a goal from Messi, during a match against Valencia where he dribbled past several players and scored inside the box.

That goal was truly spectacular.

There were also some equally spectacular goals from unknown players.

Huang Kaiwen saw his goal too, the one against Bayern in the UEFA Champions League final, the volley flick inside the box.

After all ten goals were shown, the host announced a name: ”Kevin, congratulations!”
