Chapter 2987: Chapter 2986: Improving and Creating Cross Training Ancient Martial Arts

Afterward, Lin Dong, once again started to teach Ye Linglong the defensive ancient martial arts in a similar manner.

Defensive ancient martial arts, also known as cross-training ancient martial arts, is a method of strengthening one’s defense by training the physical body.

Lin Dong’s Dragon Blood Holy Body also belongs to cross-training, but it transcends ordinary ancient martial arts and can continually upgrade.

He naturally doesn’t need to learn these cross-training ancient martial arts, but Ye Linglong is different.

Ye Linglong now, really needs a kind of cross-training ancient martial arts.

Currently, the cross-training ancient martial arts they borrowed from the hands of the Tianjiao of the Bright Clan are: Light Screen Heavenly Flower, Heavenly Light Shield, Bright Rebound.

Light Screen Heavenly Flower, by condensing a light screen to envelop oneself, can withstand defensive power beyond one’s own strength.

Heavenly Light Shield is to condense the light screen into a round shield. The round shield is extremely solid with astonishing defensive power.

Bright Rebound is like condensing a rebound barrier around oneself, capable of reflecting damage.

However, it has a fatal flaw: it can only rebound attacks weaker than oneself.

For example, if someone can only exert a force of ten thousand jin, then the maximum limit of the rebound force can only be the same.

If exceeded, it will directly break the ’Light Rebound Shield’ rendering it ineffective.

For Ye Linglong, she feels that ’Bright Rebound’ is not suitable for her. Lin Dong also believes so.

The main reason being her current strength is too weak, even if she cultivates Bright Rebound, any martial artist slightly stronger than her can break her defense.

Then this defense would be as if not cultivated at all!

Therefore, Ye Linglong cultivating this ’Bright Rebound’ is not very cost-effective.

Instead, ’Bright Sky’ and ’Light Shield’ are more suitable for Ye Linglong.

Bright Sky can defend against twice one’s power...

Light Shield can defend against triple one’s power.

By logic, anyone would choose ’Light Shield’ to cultivate defense against triple one’s power.

But Lin Dong suggested: ”I think, you should still cultivate Bright Sky, just now I researched this Bright Sky and found it has growth potential.”

”If more power attributes are included, then the defensive power becomes stronger. The Bright Clan generally uses the power of light to gather this light screen defense.”

”However, you can use other power attributes. You have three elements: Water, Wood, and Earth. If you can condense these three elements into ’Water, Wood, Earth Defense’, then the defensive power you can obtain would multiply several-fold...”

”Equivalent to Water, Wood, Earth Defense allowing you to obtain defensive power more than eight times your own...”

Hearing this, Ye Linglong’s eyes lit up.

Eight times the defensive power, who in the same tier can break it?

Of course, she wants to learn this ancient martial art.

”Then Lin Dong, I’ll learn this cross-training ancient martial art.” Ye Linglong accepted Lin Dong’s suggestion.

Lin Dong nodded, ”However, this ancient martial art, I need to modify it.”

”It was previously Light Screen Heavenly Flower. Next, I want to improve it into ’Water, Wood, Earth Heavenly Splendor’.”

”Of course, take it step by step. First, improve it into Water Curtain Heavenly Flower, Wood Curtain Heavenly Flower, Earth Veil Heavenly Flower... Finally, merge them into Water, Wood, Earth Heavenly Splendor.”

”This cross-training ancient martial might not be so easy to cultivate successfully.”

”You need to be prepared...”

Ye Linglong nodded, hesitated a bit, and asked: ”Modifying or even creating a new ancient martial art, I’ve heard that even the Secondary Ancestor might not be able to do it.”

”That requires an ancestor-level existence to achieve. Lin Dong, can you do it?”

Lin Dong laughingly said: ”Can only try.”

He, of course, doesn’t have a hundred percent certainty of success.

However, he had previously modified ancient martial arts and even created ancient martial arts like ’Liuhe Dragon Fist’.

Having some experience.

So there’s still a chance of success.

The following Lin Dong began to improve ’Light Screen Heavenly Flower’ first into Water Curtain Heavenly Flower.

Light Screen Heavenly Flower uses the power of light to condense into a ’light screen’.

Lin Dong, following the principle of this ancient martial art, replaced the power of light with the power of water.

The result was very smooth, succeeding in one go...

”Water Curtain Heavenly Flower!!!”

He himself has a deep understanding of the Water Path, also possessing Water Sword Intent, and the ’Five Elements Origin Heart’, still having the Five Elements Physique, and under these various enhancements, performing this ’Water Curtain Heavenly Flower’, can be said to be effortless.

The Water Curtain Heavenly Flower appeared around, a water-blue heavenly curtain formed by water elements floating around.

The curtain didn’t look very solid but acted as a protective shield, completely enveloping him.

Seeing this, Ye Linglong couldn’t help but exclaim: ”This is too incredible! In one go, improve an ancient martial art.”

From Light Screen Heavenly Flower, improving into Water Curtain Heavenly Flower, Lin Dong only used one time.

This is too strong!

Next, Lin Dong, following the same method, changed Light Screen Heavenly Flower into ’Wood Curtain Heavenly Flower’.

This process took a bit longer because his understanding of the Wood Path wasn’t as deep as the Water Path.

So it took a relatively long time.

But it didn’t take too long, only costing half an hour.

Then, he spent another half an hour to improve Light Screen Heavenly Flower into Earth Veil Heavenly Flower.

However, Lin Dong was not satisfied with just this.

Because next, he wants to further fuse these three improved spells, to create an unprecedented defensive magic skill.

This has even surpassed the scope of improvement.

Instead, it’s the creation of an extremely powerful cross-training ancient martial art.

Even a Secondary Ancestor or even ancestor-level existence might not be able to do this.

This is an unprecedented challenge.

Also because the Five Elements are mutually productive and restraining, so during the creation, a little carelessness could lead to the ancient martial art losing control.

But Lin Dong, relying on his deep understanding of the philosophy of the Five Elements and his exquisite skill in manipulating ancient martial arts, decided to give it a try.

In a secret location within the Azure Water Abyss, Lin Dong began his retreat.

He mobilized all his inner Qi, circulating the three elements of Water, Earth, and Wood within his body, trying to find their harmonious resonance.

Initially, the three elements seemed incompatible and repulsive to each other, but Lin Dong did not give up, constantly adjusting the flow and distribution of his spiritual power. Gradually, he felt a wonderful balance and harmony.

Finally, during a peak explosion of inner Qi, the three elements of Water, Earth, and Wood perfectly fused within Lin Dong’s body, forming an unprecedented powerful force.

He suddenly opened his eyes, forming a seal gesture with both hands, a brilliant light burst from his palms, instantly transforming into a defensive shield containing the agility of water, the solidity of earth, and the vitality of wood—Water, Wood, Earth Heavenly Splendor.

This defense, upon activation, first saw water waves undulate, followed by erecting earth walls, and finally a lush greenery, intertwining into a magnificent picture, capable of resisting attacks from all directions, and continuously providing life energy and recovery to the caster and companions.

Lin Dong looked at the miracle he created, naturally filled with a sense of achievement.

After all, this was the defensive ancient martial art he himself created!

When he emerged from seclusion, he found that three days had elapsed!

Ye Linglong beside him again exclaimed in shock: ”Lin Dong, you are really too great!”

”To be able to create such a powerful cross-training ancient martial art below the Secondary Ancestor level. This is simply unprecedented...”

To create ancient martial arts is already incredible.

Even a Secondary Ancestor or ancestor-level existence, by creating an ancient martial art, can become a celebrity in the history of martial arts.

Especially someone like Lin Dong, an existence below the Secondary Ancestor.

And what he created, is such a powerful cross-training ancient martial art... This can certainly, be legendary throughout eternity.
