Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 2103: Chapter 2102: Unfathomable

Upon saying this, Qin Yitian’s face showed a touch of pain.

Then, she continued:

”But what was the point of my mother disagreeing? In the Qin Family, don’t mention someone like her who neither practices the Martial Way nor has any commercial talent, even if she did, a single word from the Old Ancestor could decide her fate.”

”That marriage was thus settled.”

”I still remember, at that time, I was only five years old. I watched my mother wash her face with tears every day, saw her kneel in front of the Old Ancestor, pleading day and night, saw her secretly hide a pair of scissors on her...”

”My brother was more sensible than I was back then. He knew mother didn’t want to marry someone else as a wife. He took me to secretly meet that father of mine!”

”That was also the first time I saw my biological father. It was also the last time I saw him.”

”After my brother and I found our biological father, he told him about it, and he also told him the time and place of mother’s marriage to someone else. He hoped he would act like a man and take mother away!”

”When brother returned, he also told mother about it. He planned to secretly take mother away, and then let father take her far away.”

”But, on the day of mother’s wedding, that father of mine never showed up, mother and brother kept waiting for him. But when it was eight at night and the Wedding began, he still didn’t come!”

”Mother lied to brother that she was going back to the room to use the restroom, then she committed suicide in the room. When my brother and I opened her room, we saw a wound on her throat. Fresh blood flowed all over the ground. Her eyes were wide open, staring at the sky outside the window. She seemed to be still waiting for something...”

”Even though it’s been more than twenty years, I can never forget those eyes of my mother, who couldn’t rest in peace. I can’t forget her white wedding dress stained with fresh blood.”

At this point, Qin Yitian’s tears drenched her cheeks.

She looked at Lin Dong and said, ”Do you think she’s a very pitiful woman? She’s just forced to marry a man she didn’t love. Why did she have to commit suicide?”

”Isn’t living better?”

Lin Dong was silent, not knowing how to answer her.

He sighed and said, ”Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked about this. It brought up your painful memories.”

Qin Yitian shook her head, buried her head into Lin Dong’s chest, and her tears fell on the spot over his heart.

Before that, she had written the word ’love’ there.

”Dong Lin, if one day I’m forced by the family’s Old Ancestor to marry a man I don’t love, will you come and take me away on the day of my big wedding?” Qin Yitian asked.

Lin Dong caressed her head and softly said, ”You are my wife, how could I allow you to marry someone else? If that day truly comes, whether in the highest heavens or in hell, I will take you away!”

He held Qin Yitian tightly.

Qin Yitian’s tear-streaked face blossomed with a smile like a flower.

”I’m much luckier than my poor mother. Because I have a commercial talent, I don’t have to be cultivated as a socialite like her, engaging insincerely with those men.”

”What’s luckier is that I married the man I love!”

Qin Yitian said this, got up from Lin Dong’s embrace, and then said:

”Alright, our game isn’t over yet. Next, it’s your turn to write on me.”

Lin Dong nodded, extended his finger, and asked, ”Where should I write?”

”Of course, on my heart,” Qin Yitian said, pulling Lin Dong’s finger to write on her heart.

She grasped Lin Dong’s hand and wrote the character ’Lin’!

”This way, your name will be branded in my heart forever.”

Qin Yitian said, and continued, ”Alright, the word you wrote on me is ’Lin’, this time you lost, and now it’s my turn to ask you a question.”

Lin Dong: ”...”

Wasn’t Qin Yitian playing unfairly?

”Yitian, is this how you play the game? That word just now, it was you who grabbed my hand to write it,” Lin Dong pinched Qin Yitian as a form of punishment.

Qin Yitian giggled, ”Women never play fair. What, do you have any objections? Or are you afraid to let me ask you questions? Do you have something to hide?”

Lin Dong spread his hands and admitted, ”Alright, feel free to ask your question, I concede.”

”Hehe~~~” Qin Yitian giggled, then asked, ”Dong Lin, have you ever loved me?”

When Lin Dong heard this question, his heart skipped a beat.

”Yitian, why do you ask this?”

Qin Yitian looked out the window and said, ”Actually, I don’t need to ask to know that ’Dong Lin’ isn’t your true identity, right? You likely have another identity, and perhaps, before me, you’ve been married, had other women.”

”Maybe you even have someone you truly love in your heart.”

Lin Dong was silent for a moment and asked, ”Why do you think that?”

”Women’s sixth sense,” Qin Yitian said, ”And, once you talked in your sleep, calling another woman’s name.”

Lin Dong was taken aback and hurriedly asked, ”Whose name did I... call?”

”Does it matter? It wasn’t me anyway.” Qin Yitian tried not to let her eyes look at Lin Dong and turned her head away from him so he wouldn’t see her tears falling.

Lin Dong fell into silence.

If he really called out another woman’s name in his sleep, then it’s likely Qin Yitian has guessed his true identity based on that.

So why didn’t she report it to her brother?

”Haha, surprised? Actually, I was just joking with you earlier. You’re not Dong Lin, then who are you? You did talk in your sleep, but what you said was ’Dad’, you kept shouting, ’Dad, where are you?’”

Hearing this, Lin Dong breathed a sigh of relief.

So just now, Qin Yitian was teasing him.

But, did he really say those words in his sleep?

”Dong Lin, do you really want to find your father?” Qin Yitian asked.

Lin Dong nodded, ”Of course I do, I’ve never seen my father since I was born. How could I not want to find him? No one wouldn’t want to know who their father is, right?”

”Even a bird without roots, flying long enough, will get tired someday. It also wants a home.”

Qin Yitian suddenly felt a little heartache for Lin Dong.

She hugged Lin Dong and said, ”In the future, I will be your home. You are no longer a bird without roots; when you’re tired of flying, rest with me.”

Lin Dong caressed her head and murmured:

”You asked if I love you?”

”If I hadn’t loved you, how could I truly enter into marriage with you, become husband and wife?”

Hearing Lin Dong’s words, Qin Yitian laid her head on Lin Dong’s chest, her face blossomed with a smile like a flower, that smile seemed to brand itself into Lin Dong’s heart.

She wanted to use that smile to melt his inner loneliness. So that this rootless ’bird’ would know there is someone who keeps him in their heart forever.

”With these words of yours, this life is worth it!”

At this moment, her thoughts returned to when she was five years old, back to the day her mother committed suicide.

She seemed to see her mother, wearing a white wedding dress, waving goodbye to her completely.

”I once hated you, hated why you abandoned my brother and me, chose death over living. Marrying that Hidden Clan’s pride! Now, I understand you.”

”When a woman’s heart is filled with a man’s everything, her wedding dress will only be worn for him!”
