Chapter 1372: Chapter 1371 Forbidden City Mall

”Cough cough...”

Just as the two embraced tenderly, Qiao Xue couldn’t help but cough dryly, reminding them of her presence.

Hearing the cough, Qiao Bing quickly separated from Lin Dong and looked towards the door.

There, she saw her older sister.

”Sister, why are you here?” Qiao Bing asked subconsciously.

With one hand lifting the hem of her long skirt, Qiao Xue stepped over the threshold and entered the courtyard house.

Then laughingly said, ”What, am I ruining your moment? The genius is getting all dusty...”

Qiao Bing’s face turned slightly red with embarrassment, and she hurriedly said, ”Sister, stop talking nonsense.”

She hadn’t expected that her sister, Qiao Xue, would actually joke about her and Lin Dong one day.

Qiao Xue forced a smile, even though she was reluctant to admit it, she had to respect a fact.

Lin Dong was not as useless as she had once thought.

On the contrary, he was outstanding!

With his superb medical skills, he had become the top Chinese medicine practitioner in Dragon Country.

With this, the power he could wield was no less than that of some big families in the Capital City.

Although he didn’t compare to a big family like the Lin Family from the Capital City, as a young man who started from scratch in the countryside, it was already commendable.

Therefore, she couldn’t find an excuse to oppose him being with her younger sister.

”Lin Dong, you’ve also come to the Capital, huh.” Qiao Xue even took the initiative to greet Lin Dong.

Lin Dong gave her a faint nod. To him, Qiao Xue, his former fiancee, had become a familiar stranger.

He didn’t want to entangle with her any more than necessary. If it weren’t for the fact that she was Qiao Bing’s sister, he wouldn’t bother with even the most basic courtesy.

Seeing that Lin Dong wasn’t very willing to engage with her, Qiao Xue felt a surge of irritation in her stomach.

There was an indescribable feeling of discomfort in her heart.

”Lin Dong, I watched your live broadcast of the competition with East Medical University, and also about you bringing back our Dragon Country’s National Treasure Acupuncture Bronze Man from Paocai Nation; I saw the news about that too. You have indeed achieved certain accomplishments in the medical field, and that is undeniable.”

”However, now that you’re in the Capital, I still have to offer you some advice. Stay low-key if you can here, and try not to show off too much.”

”The Capital is full of big families, you might casually encounter someone who looks unremarkable in slippers on the street, and they could be billionaires.”

”Even you, as the top Chinese medicine practitioner in Dragon Country, there are many here you cannot afford to provoke...”

Listening to her once again adopt a lecturing tone, Lin Dong’s face also turned somewhat icy.

”Qiao Xue, please be clear about your identity. I am not yet at a point where I need you to preach to me or point fingers!” Lin Dong said to her without any politeness.

On hearing this, Qiao Xue was taken aback, her face changing uncertainly.

She then huffed and said, ”I’m just looking out for you. If you won’t listen, then suit yourself.”

”Do whatever you like...”

Qiao Bing, seeing the two about to argue, or even seeming almost ready to fight upon meeting, also felt a headache coming on.

She didn’t understand why the two, both of whom had gentle personalities, could have so many disputes together?

Perhaps they simply weren’t suitable for each other.

”Lin Dong, say less,” Qiao Bing said to Lin Dong.

For Qiao Bing’s sake, Lin Dong closed his mouth.

Qiao Xue also hmphed and stopped talking to Lin Dong.

But she turned to her younger sister, Qiao Bing, and said, ”Little Bing, I came to see you today because I want you to accompany Mom on a trip.”

”Did you forget that today is her birthday?”

”Take her to the mall to browse around, accompany her for a meal, and celebrate her birthday.”

Hearing this, Qiao Bing asked with confusion, ”Sister, what about you? Aren’t you going?”

Qiao Xue shook her head, glanced at Lin Dong, and then said, ”I won’t be going. I have to talk about a cooperation tonight, a very important project. It’s related to several billion.”

”Okay,” Qiao Bing nodded.

”Then I’m leaving, contact Mom in a bit. See where she wants to go.” After saying that, Qiao Xue hurriedly left.

After she left, Qiao Bing also took out her phone and made a call to her mother, Chu Yunxiu.

”Mom, where are you?” Qiao Bing asked after the call connected.

”I’m at the Forbidden City Mall,” Chu Yunxiu replied. ”What’s up?”

”Mom, did you forget that today is your birthday? I’m coming to celebrate with you,” Qiao Bing said.

”Oh, right, I almost forgot my own birthday. Then come over; I want to visit the Forbidden City Mall. I’ve heard it outclasses places like Gold Street and Wangfujing by far.”

”It’s a real shopping destination for the upper circle, filled with luxury brands...”

Qiao Bing nodded, ”Where is that? Can you send me a location?”

She had been in the Capital for about four months, but she spent most of her time immersed in work, rarely going out shopping or strolling. She hadn’t even been to the famous Wangfujing, let alone the Forbidden City Mall that Chu Yunxiu mentioned, a place supposedly frequented by the upper circle.

After hanging up the phone, Chu Yunxiu sent a location to Qiao Bing.

Having received the location, Qiao Bing then said to Lin Dong, ”Lin Dong, will you come with me?”

Lin Dong nodded, although he wasn’t too keen on meeting Chu Yunxiu, she was after all Qiao Bing’s mother.

The two hailed a taxi and headed for the Forbidden City Mall as mentioned by Chu Yunxiu.

Located in the heart of the Capital’s prime location, the Purple Gold Mall may not seem large, but it is indeed the shopping spot for the real upper circle of the Capital.

When Lin Dong and Qiao Bing arrived, they saw Chu Yunxiu dressed in bedazzling finery, waiting for them at the door.

Seeing Lin Dong, Chu Yunxiu’s face showed a slight change.

”Lin Dong, how come you are in the Capital?” Chu Yunxiu stared at Lin Dong, her brows slightly furrowed as she asked.

Although she didn’t look down on Lin Dong as much as before, seeing him still instinctively made her somewhat averse.

This was a kind of stereotype!

In her mind, Lin Dong had formed the stereotype of a countryman, a bumpkin; so, even though Lin Dong had clearly demonstrated his superb medical skills, as well as considerable wealth, she still looked down on him.

Of course, this also had to do with her own character.

In life, there are many such people, who aren’t much themselves yet look down on those better than them.

Therefore, during blind dates, it’s common to see girls who earn three thousand a month looking down on men who earn tens of thousands, thinking they aren’t good enough for her... In fact, these people belong to the same category.

At that moment, Qiao Bing quickly stepped forward and said, ”Mom, Lin Dong just arrived in the Capital today. I asked him to join us to celebrate your birthday.”

Chu Yunxiu frowned, but ultimately didn’t say anything.

”Okay, let’s go in together then.”

With that, the three of them were about to enter the Forbidden City Mall.

However, just at that moment, the security guard stopped them.

”Hello, please show your membership cards!”
