I Enslaved The Goddess Who Summoned Me

Chapter 564: Freja Vs Axel in the Senate Castle!

Chaos had erupted within the Senate Castle like wildfire tearing through dry fields. The grand marble corridors, once symbols of order and imperial pride, had become a labyrinth of panic, screams, clashing steel, and the metallic scent of blood. Statues of Rome’s greatest statesmen watched silently from their pedestals as if witnessing the fall of an era.

And at the center of this turmoil stood the last people anyone expected to be responsible.

A dozen figures, each radiating an unmistakable aura of power, carved through Caesar’s forces with brutal efficiency — the very Heroes who had once served the Amun-Ra Empire and were meant, at least on paper, to become the Heroes of Rome.

Instead, they were tearing Rome apart.

”Why are you attacking us?!”A terrified soldier stumbled backward, armor scraping the marble.

”You’re Caesar’s own Heroes! We fight for the same banner!”

”Shut up.”

Freja’s voice sliced through the air just a moment before her sword did.The blade — elegantly crafted yet cruel in purpose — cleaved not only through the soldier’s weapon but through bone and flesh. His head spun away, trailing droplets of blood that splattered against the polished floor. Several nearby soldiers flinched, their courage wavering.

Freja flipped her light brown hair back, her expression cold and utterly unbothered.

”I never agreed to become your Hero,” she said, wiping a streak of blood from her cheek. ”And even less that scum’s Hero. It’s the same for all of us.”

Behind her, her classmates nodded — some grimly, some with fiery resolve. Not one showed hesitation.

”You... you traitors!” another soldier shouted, but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.

They charged anyway.

Brave, loyal — and completely outmatched.

Against the divine strength of summoned Heroes, their numbers meant nothing. Steel bent. Shields shattered. Bodies fell in heaps.

”This castle is endless!” Edit shouted from behind, her voice echoing through the circular halls. Sweat stuck to her forehead despite the cold Roman air.

The others murmured agreement. The Senate Castle was a massive structure, shaped like a great ring with spiraling corridors and wide chambers. There were only four main levels to reach the highest floor, but each floor stretched long enough to feel like a battlefield on its own.

By the time they reached the third floor, more soldiers had poured in, desperately trying to halt their advance. But the Heroes carved through them like a tide of destruction.

Freja fought at the front, swinging her blade with controlled violence, while Elin stayed slightly behind the main assault line. She moved her staff with practiced precision, conjuring shimmering barriers and golden healing light that cured wounds almost as soon as they were inflicted.

”We need to find Axel, and fast!” Freja growled as she split another officer’s chestplate with a single strike.

”But where is he?” Ida called out over the clamor. ”Don’t tell me he’s just waiting at the top floor while we destroy half the castle down here!”

”He’s always been an arrogant prick,” another girl muttered with an exhausted sigh. ”But this is on another level.”

A pulse of danger washed over Freja like ice down her spine.

Her eyes widened.

”—Elin!!”

There was no hesitation. Elin reacted instantly, understanding the threat without needing an explanation. She slammed her staff into the ground, and a massive golden dome blossomed around the entire group.

BADOOOOOM!!!

A roaring torrent of fire and searing light crashed into the barrier like a divine punishment. The walls shook. The ceiling trembled. Blinding heat washed over them.

”Hnngh...!”Elin’s knees bent under the pressure. She bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. Barriers were not her specialty — healing was — but she forced every drop of mana she had into holding the shield.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the barrier. The golden surface flickered.

And then—

Shatter!

The dome exploded in a burst of fading sparks.

Before the deadly beam could touch the others, Freja was already in motion. She soared forward with a single powerful step and swung her sword, deflecting the rest of the incoming attack away from her classmates. The air split from the force, leaving a deep burn mark across the marble.

Everyone froze. If not for Elin’s quick reaction and Freja’s speed...None of them would have survived.

And worse — they recognized that attack.

The scorching light, the divine intensity, the sheer destructive force...

They had seen it countless times before.

Freja slowly lifted her glare toward the end of the corridor as footsteps echoed through the smoke.

A lone figure emerged — calm, composed, almost bored. His robes flowed behind him, and small embers danced lazily around his fingertips.

Axel.

”A shame,” he said, lips curling into a relaxed, almost amused smile.”I nearly got all of you.”

”Axel... you were ready to kill us? Your own classmates?”

Freja’s voice trembled with anger as she tightened her grip around the hilt of her blade. The air around her shimmered with barely restrained hostility.

”Classmates?” Axel spat the word like poison. His lip curled in disgust. ”Wake up, Freja. That ridiculous ’classmate’ nonsense ended the moment we got summoned. You and Elin clinging to that fantasy... it’s pathetic.”

”Axel...” Elin’s voice cracked, the pain visible in her eyes.

Even after everything that had happened, she never imagined things would devolve to this — her classmate, once an ally, now standing before them with murderous intent.

Axel, however, showed no hesitation.

”And you talking about classmates,” he continued, his gaze narrowing into a venomous glare, ”when you betrayed them first... that’s what’s truly laughable, Freja.”

Freja didn’t react, but her classmates behind her exchanged startled looks.

”Allying yourself with the trash who killed Hugo and Isak?” Axel sneered. ”That mercenary scum?”

A murmur rippled through the Heroes behind Freja.

They didn’t particularly care about Hugo or Isak — the two had always been trouble, especially Isak, who had been practically begging for death with his reckless decisions. But hearing Axel bring them up so casually still unsettled them.

Freja exhaled sharply, her expression twisting into scorn.

”Hugo and Isak?” she repeated. ”You mean the same ones who tried to sell me out to die? You were right there with them, Axel.”

Axel’s eyes narrowed.

”You’re not some noble avenger,” Freja continued coldly. ”You’re just an arrogant, selfish scum who only cares about himself. And the idiots following you aren’t much better.”

At her words, the three classmates standing behind Axel flinched lightly, casting uncomfortable glances at one another.

”Hmph. And so what?” Axel shrugged, though anger twitched beneath the surface.

”I did what was necessary. We would have lived like kings in Rome if you had just shut up and followed orders.”

”None of us intend to be pawns of that filthy Emperor you’re licking the boots of,” Freja snapped, raising her sword.

”Oh please,” Axel barked out a laugh. ”So you want to crawl back to Alexandria and become Cleopatra’s loyal dogs instead?”

”She’ll treat us better than Caesar ever would,” Freja replied without hesitation.

”Oh, so you have a plan.” Axel smirked, lifting his sword as orange energy licked up the blade.

”But that only matters if any of you make it out of here alive.”

Freja’s mana surged, silver light swirling around her sword.

”We will all make it out alive,” she said, gaze sharpening into a deadly glare. ”But you won’t, Axel.”

”Hahahaha!” Axel’s laugh echoed like unhinged thunder. ”You think you stand a chance against me?! You? Freja, that’s adorable!”

In an instant, he shot forward like a streak of flame.

Freja stomped the ground, sending cracks spiderwebbing beneath her feet, and charged straight into him.

Their blades collided.

BA-DOOOOM!

A shockwave tore through the corridor, violently cracking the walls and shattering every window in a chain of exploding glass. The entire floor trembled as though struck by an earthquake.

”As always, those two are monsters...” Ida whispered, shielding her face from flying debris.

”Yeah...” Edith muttered, her voice full of awe and dread. The others silently agreed.

Freja gritted her teeth, locking blades with Axel.

”I’ll handle him! Just find Brutus!”

”No, you won’t!”

The three classmates loyal to Axel lunged forward, joining the battle with a roar.

And they weren’t alone.

Dozens of Caesar’s soldiers stormed the corridor from both ends, their armor clattering, their shouts echoing like war drums.

Steel clashed. Magic detonated. The air filled with fire, screams, and the metallic stench of blood.

Within seconds, the entire third floor of the Senate Castle plunged into full-scale war—a chaotic battlefield where friendships shattered, loyalties burned, and destiny began to split apart.
