I Enslaved The Goddess Who Summoned Me

Chapter 379: Are you on my side?

The first golden rays of dawn filtered through the silken flaps of the grand pavilion, brushing the canvas walls with a warm, hazy light. The soft glow gently illuminated the heart of the encampment—Queen Cleopatraʼs private tent, a structure more lavish than any other within miles. Inside, the air still carried the faint perfume of incense and something far more primal, something no amount of scented oil could mask.

No soul dared approach the tent that morning, nor had they since the previous nightʼs sultry symphony. Cleopatraʼs passionate cries had sliced through the stillness like arrows loosed into the dark, reaching the ears of every soldier, servant, and slave in camp. Some had blushed. Others had pretended not to hear. But none had forgotten.

The Queenʼs pleasure was not a matter commonly discussed, but the camp had buzzed with silent speculation. Why the mercenary? Why him? He was a foreigner, a blade for hire—hardly the sort of man to warm a queenʼs bed, let alone command her attention so thoroughly.

Apollodorus, however, suspected more. He was no fool. There was something unusual about Septimius—something that didnʼt fit the mold of an ordinary sellsword. The manʼs presence carried weight, as though he walked with secrets etched into his bones. If Cleopatra had chosen to bring him close, to share not just her bed but her tent and silence, then the man was far more than he appeared.

Still, no one dared disturb their queen—not until she emerged of her own volition.

Inside the opulent tent, Nathan stirred. Lying on a bed of crimson and gold satin, he opened his eyes to the patterned ceiling above—rich fabrics imported from the East, stitched with thread-of-gold that shimmered faintly in the light. The tent was massive, easily large enough to house a small court. Furniture of carved ebony and ivory adorned the space, along with piles of cushions, a bronze brazier, and polished mirrors leaning against the walls. Everything bespoke luxury, tailored for a woman who ruled empires and hearts alike.

Nathan exhaled deeply as he sat up, running a hand through his tousled hair. For the first time in weeks—perhaps months—he had slept deeply, his body relaxed and unguarded. A rare thing, but understandable after a night like that. Cleopatra had been... something else. Passionate, wild, almost regal even in her abandon. She reminded him, strangely enough, of Khillea.

But where Cleopatra had been sensual and commanding, Khillea had been untamed, a force of nature with sharp teeth and wild flame. Just thinking of her made something stir deep inside him—something raw and possessive.

”I should see her,” he thought. ”After all this is done.”

He rose to his feet, muscles stretching. His gaze swept the room—and found her.

Cleopatra sat at a low table near the center of the tent, a single length of white cloth wrapped elegantly around her body. It clung to her skin like a lover, revealing more than it concealed. But there was nothing seductive in her demeanor now. She was focused, silent, her brow furrowed as she examined a map spread before her. The map detailed the breadth of the Amun-Ra Empire and its bordering kingdoms, ancient and current. Her fingers traced lines across the parchment, eyes sharp and calculating.

It was rare to see her like this—stripped of performance, devoid of her usual playful smile. To Nathan, it was strangely captivating. This was the woman behind the veil of seduction. The queen, the tactician, the ruler.

He approached, footsteps soft but deliberate. ”Planning your next conquest?”

Cleopatra didnʼt look up right away. When she did, the mask of the queen slipped back into place—but not entirely.

”Perhaps,” she said, her voice smooth as honeyed wine. ”Though some conquests prove more difficult to keep than to win.”

Nathanʼs eyes swept over the map, the intricate lines and markings detailing the great sprawl of the Amun Ra Empire and its fractured borders. He leaned slightly closer, his voice low but firm.

”Conquering your own land shouldnʼt be necessary,” he murmured, a flicker of disdain in his tone.

Cleopatraʼs gaze remained fixed on the parchment, her fingers tightening around the edge of the table. ”Indeed,” she said, her voice laced with restrained bitterness. ”The Amun Ra Empire is mine by right. I should not have to wage war to reclaim what I was born to rule.”

Nathanʼs eyes flicked to her face, catching the shadow that passed over her features. ”Your brother is a fool. And fools are easy prey. They used him like a puppet—and he danced.”

Cleopatraʼs lips thinned. ”I should have seen it coming,” she admitted, her voice quieter now, tinged with frustration. ”I always knew they were dangerous. I knew... and yet I underestimated how far they would go.”

Nathan stepped closer, close enough that she could feel the warmth of his breath against her skin as he leaned near her ear. ”If youʼre wary of someone,” he whispered, ”and you have the power to bring them down... donʼt hesitate. Ever.”

Cleopatra turned her head just slightly, her eyes finding his. ”Is that experience talking?” she asked, the edge of curiosity in her voice.

”You could say that,” Nathan replied, his gaze unreadable.

A brief silence passed between them before Cleopatra posed the question weighing on her mind. ”Even if that someone is bound to me by blood?”

Nathan didnʼt blink. ”Your blood has tried to kill you more times than I can count,” he said evenly. ”Heʼs still trying. Thatʼs not family—thatʼs an enemy in disguise. Heʼs far past the point of redemption.”

Cleopatraʼs lips curled into a slow, knowing smile. ”You speak like a man who understands me far too well,” she said. ”Itʼs what Iʼve thought all along. But my idiotic sister refuses to see the truth.”

”Arsinoë?” Nathan asked, raising a brow.

Cleopatraʼs gaze sharpened. ”Yes. Arsinoë. Always the idealist, always so quick to believe in forgiveness and blood ties.” She narrowed her eyes at him. ”I saw you talking to her.”

Nathan tilted his head, a trace of amusement in his expression. ”I saved her from one of her own sisters. She was grateful. Thatʼs all.”

But Cleopatra didnʼt look convinced. Her eyes studied him, the weight of a queenʼs suspicion hanging in the air. ”Youʼre not playing both sides, are you?” she asked quietly, but there was steel beneath the softness.

Nathanʼs smirk widened as he leaned in again, his voice dipping into a roguish tone. ”If I were playing both sides... Pompey would be dead. Your army would be in ruins. And after having fucked you, Iʼd have handed you to your brother wrapped in carpet.”

A laugh escaped Cleopatra—not the polite laughter of court, but something deeper, richer. There was no offense in her eyes. On the contrary, she looked even more intrigued, her gaze almost hungry. He didnʼt cower before her, didnʼt flatter her with meaningless words. He spoke truth wrapped in fire, and that fire drew her in.

She stood, her white cloth cascading around her like moonlight, and stepped forward. Her hands found his chest, and her lips brushed against his.

”Are you on my side?” she asked. ”Truly?”

She couldnʼt quite explain it, but around him, the weight on her shoulders felt lighter. He was dangerous, unpredictable—but there was something about him that felt solid. As if no matter what chaos swirled outside that tent, he could carve a path through it with nothing but will.

Thatʼs what she needed.

Thatʼs what she wanted.

Nathan didnʼt answer with words.

His hand lifted instead, pale against her golden skin, fingers trailing along her jawline, tracing the curve of her throat, the vulnerable line that ran from collarbone to sternum. He brushed over the edge of the cloth still wrapped around her chest, the only barrier left between him and what heʼd already tasted, already claimed.

Then he tugged.

The garment unraveled with a soft hiss, fluttering down to her waist in a slow coil, baring her breasts to him once again. Full, perky, nipples hardening in the air as if they recognized his breath, his gaze. His cock twitched at the sight, his eyes locked on those dusky peaks like a man possessed.

Heʼd had them before.

Devoured them.

But that didnʼt matter.

He wanted them again.

His head dipped without hesitation, mouth closing around her right nipple with animal hunger, sucking hard, tongue swirling in lazy, firm circles that made her spine snap straight.

”Haaan~~~” Cleopatra gasped, the moan slipping from her lips before she could swallow it, before her pride could tame it. Her fingers dug into his hair, pulling him tighter against her chest, her hips rocking instinctively forward as if her whole body was waking again beneath his touch.

Nathan groaned into her breast, the sound vibrating through her skin, down her ribs, straight to the heat between her legs. His free hand cupped her other tit, kneading it, thumb flicking her nipple as his mouth worshipped the one between his lips. He sucked like he could drink her power straight from her flesh, each motion firm, slow, deliberate—tongue lashing, teeth grazing, lips sealing tight.

She moaned louder—”Aaaaahhh~ yes... gods… your mouth…”

Her knees were wobbling.

Her core already flooding again.

And Nathan—his mouth popped free with a wet smack, a glisten of saliva clinging to her skin—just looked up at her, eyes smoldering, lips parted, breath hot against her soaked nipple.

”You think I could ever be on anyone elseʼs side?” he said, low, rough, voice a rasp between reverence and sin.

He kissed down her stomach then, slowly, trailing heat and promise all the way to where her cloth still hung around her waist. He looked up once more, hands gripping her hips.

”Youʼre not done with me, are you?” Cleopatra asked with a smile.

Nathan smirked and was about to devour her pussy but at that time the tent opened.

”Pardon me my Queen,” Apollodorus entered. He ignored the fact that Nathan was on his knees his face right in front of Cleopatraʼs leaking pussy. ”But Caesar is there.”
