Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

”These... ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍are all Grass and Tree Essence?”

I ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍asked with some curiosity as I turned sideways to look at Big Sis Bai.

Big ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍Sis Bai, understanding my intention, shared all the information she had seen about Grass and Tree Elves with me.

There ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍was a lot of data, seemingly gathered with the intent of gaining a detailed understanding.

It ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍appeared that Big Sis Bai had deliberately investigated this after learning about the existence of Grass and Tree Elves in the Dungeon World.

Moreover, ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍the investigation wasn’t conducted within the Witch Academy, as the Academy’s information on this subject wasn’t nearly this comprehensive.

”It’s... it’s a friend!”

Ling Yi corrected weakly from the side.

”Sorry It was I, Little Han, who misspoke. It’s Ling Yi’s friend.”

I hurriedly comforted Ling Yi.

”Little Han, can you please not harvest her... She is not Grass and Tree Essence, not a resource, she is my friend...”

At this moment, Ling Yi begged bitterly again.

As a Grass and Tree Elf who had witnessed darkness, she naturally knew the horror of greed.

”I didn’t think that way. Since Ling Yi said it’s a friend, how could I do such a thing to a friend?”

I reached out to lift Ling Yi and comforted her.

”Thank... you, Little Han.”

”Then can you call me Big Sis Little Han?”

”Eh? But... but I should be older than you, right? You should be calling me Big Sis...”

Ling Yi seemed to have some peculiar persistence in strange areas.

One should know that even in the Witch Academy, there were quite a few upper-grade students who called me Big Sis Little Han.

”How can that be? Clearly, I’m a bit bigger than you.”

I extended my left hand and gestured.

”Wu... alright then. You are a good person... Big Sis Little Han.”

In the end, Ling Yi yielded on the form of address.

As for whether she called me that sincerely, it didn’t matter.

”Ah I’ve been friend-zoned.”

I revealed a trace of a smile at this, not taking it to heart.

Although outwardly this indeed looked like a mass of Grass and Tree Essence concentrated to the extreme, I wouldn’t go so far as to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Furthermore, at this stage, I didn’t particularly need Grass and Tree Essence.

The data shared by Big Sis Bai did indeed record Grass and Tree Essence, but it was far from reaching this level of concentration.

So this could only be another situation: the gestation and birth of a Grass and Tree Elf!

And this mass of Grass and Tree Essence also exceeded the limits of gestation to a certain extent.

Moreover, I did not detect any signs of life within it.

But considering that Ling Yi probably wouldn’t lie to me about this, this gestating Grass and Tree Elf...

Was most likely dead.

”Ling Yi Is this friend of yours still in a state of gestation?”

I probed with a question.

”Mn Mn yeah She is definitely still in a state of gestation! She is the companion I’ve seen gestate the longest and require the most Grass and Tree Essence! So she must be very powerful!”

Ling Yi said with great confidence!

Even when speaking, her tone carried a hint of pride!

”It... how long has it been gestating?”

”Wu... I can’t remember clearly. Anyway, it’s been a long, long time. It was already gestating when those hateful Wizards were still around!”

”When the Wizards were still around?”

I spoke with slight surprise.

Then that was indeed quite a long time.

However, the gestation of a Grass and Tree Elf was not like a human’s ten-month pregnancy.

Although the early stage of condensing the Grass and Tree Embryo could take a long time and was very demanding on the environment—some taking a few years or even over a decade—once a certain limit was reached and the Grass and Tree Embryo was condensed, it wouldn’t take long for a new Grass and Tree Elf to be born.

Moreover, the gestation of a Grass and Tree Elf was not fixed but determined by environmental conditions.

When fast, a few weeks were enough; when slow, it would only take a few months.

After all, the size of a Grass and Tree Elf was right there; it was destined not to gestate for a very long time.

”Mmhmm! Those Wizards were too bad! When capturing our companions, they wouldn’t even let go of the Grass and Tree Elves that were still gestating! This... this friend of mine was... was luckily left behind by the Wizards, and then brought here by me...”

”Wizards... left behind?”

Although I couldn’t witness the scene at that time with my own eyes, I could roughly guess some of the situation.

I’m afraid that at that time, this Grass and Tree Elf was already dead, right?

But what puzzled me was that even if the Grass and Tree Embryo died, it was still very rich Grass and Tree Essence and shouldn’t have been discarded.

Or could it be... it wasn’t actually discarded, but ”stolen” by Ling Yi?

After all, the importance attached to the living and the dead would definitely be different.

However, it was obviously not appropriate to press for these details now.

The truth and the process were not important at this moment.

What was important was... the result.

This clumsy Grass and Tree Elf had nurtured a dead Grass and Tree Embryo into such concentrated Grass and Tree Essence; the effort put into this could be imagined.

But life could never be born just because of the intense Grass and Tree Essence.

”Ling Yi. Since she is your friend, let’s take it to the lake island. That is where Big Sis Bai and I live, and also where you live. This way it will also be more convenient, what do you think?”

I proposed.

”Eh? But... but the power of grass and trees there is not as rich as here, and...”

”As for the environment, I’ll handle it.”

Regarding Ling Yi’s worry, there was naturally no need for me to worry.

As I extended my hand and condensed several runes, arranging them in the structure of a ritual, the intense power of grass and trees around us slowly began to gather.

And this was just a very simple method for me, a ritual formation for gathering specific Transcendent energy.

It couldn’t even be considered a spell for me, just a ritual composition used to achieve a specific effect.

If it had to be made into a spell, this would be a typical ”Lesser Spell”.

”Eh?! The Grass and Tree Essence is all... all gathering?”

”That’s right. As long as Ling Yi brings your friend over, I will solidify this kind of formation in the surroundings. This way, you won’t need to come to such a far place every time to take care of your friend.”

”Re... really?! Thank you! Thank you, Little Han!”

”Mn? What should you call me?”

”Wu... Big Sis Little Han! Thank you, Big Sis Little Han!”

”Mn That’s more like it.”

I said with a smile.

Subsequently, Ling Yi and I carefully protected this ”friend” and traveled from here to the lake island.

Upon returning here, Ling Yi quickly discovered those energy-rich fruits under the He Ya Tree!

”Eh! Are these fruits... for me?”

”Mn What a pity. If Ling Yi were here at the time, you should have been able to catch them with your own hands.”

”Thank you, Big Sis Little Han! You really are a great person! I shouldn’t have doubted you!”

”Correction, I am a Lesser Witch I should be a good witch!”

”Mn! Big Sis Little Han is a good Lesser Witch!”

”?”

”Is a good witch.”

I corrected again.

”Oh oh Big Sis Little Han is a good witch!”

Ling Yi said while moving all these fruits into her tree hollow.

”Won’t Ling Yi eat one yourself?”

”I want to save them and share them when my friend comes out!”

”No need to be so frugal. If your friend comes out, I will prepare more fruits for you!”

While comforting Ling Yi, I began to solidify this formation for guiding and gathering the power of grass and trees under the He Ya Tree.

This was the Dungeon World, so a powerful gathering formation that would exhaust the resources wasn’t suitable.

Choosing a gentler one that matched the natural operation of the Dungeon World was enough.

While I was solidifying this formation, Big Sis Bai also came to my side and communicated with me in a voice only I could hear.

”Little Han, why would you go to this extent?”

Big Sis Bai asked curiously.

It was like this for Fool’s Dream, and it was still like this for this Grass and Tree Elf.

In her view, Little Han was really too kind.

Perhaps it was the natural Transcendent level enriching her cognition; some cute things couldn’t infect her kind heart from the outside.

Only when she spontaneously showed acceptance would she let go of this prejudice.

This situation applied to most witches.

For example, witches looked down on all races below Transcendent equally, but corresponding to cute things like cats, it was very easy for witches to let down their guard.

Some witches even had absolutely no resistance to cats!

”Does Big Sis Bai not understand?”

I turned my head and asked in a whisper.

”Is it an emotion similar to... Fool’s Dream?”

”Mn→ Mn↑ Mn↓”

I shook my head to indicate that wasn’t it.

”The Grass and Tree Elf hasn’t reached the bond between Fool’s Dream and me yet, but having a good impression is certain. If Big Sis Bai cannot understand my complex considerations... let me explain it to you this way.”

”What is it?”

Big Sis Bai asked curiously.

”This Grass and Tree Elf is dead... but... it still has value for me to attempt the reproduction project, life experiments, Soul Depiction, and other techniques, experiments, and projects.”

After I finished this sentence, Bai Yu understood.

Speaking so bluntly indeed lacked some human touch, but for the Grass and Tree Elf who was guarding a tragedy, this was undoubtedly a hope for life!

After solidifying this gathering ritual, I could already feel traces of vitality of grass and trees gathering gradually on the lake island.

After all, this wasn’t an area that had already gathered a large amount of the power of grass and trees.

To be like that previous place, it would take at least a day or two.

Moreover, the power of grass and trees is one of the few Transcendent energies that naturally nourishes life, so having a higher concentration is not a problem at all.

”Alright Ling Yi, this way, you can take care of your friend directly here. Wait for about a day or two, and the environment here will probably be similar to the original place.”

”Wuwuwu... Thank you, Big Sis Little Han! Thank you...”

At this moment, Ling Yi didn’t know how to express her gratitude and kept repeating words of thanks.

Amidst the burst of thanks, my tone shifted.

”By the way, Ling Yi, I can be considered to have some understanding of Grass and Tree Elves. Your friend has been gestating for so long; could something have gone wrong?”

”Eh? How is that possible! Definitely not! Definitely not!”

Ling Yi hurriedly spoke up.

”I’m just saying it’s possible. Don’t worry, I care about this friend of yours too. But she has indeed exceeded the gestation time of ordinary Grass and Tree Elves. How about this: I’ll go out and look for information to see if I can help you solve this problem and speed up your friend’s gestation. What do you think?”

”Eh? Re... really? Is that okay?”

Ling Yi asked somewhat nervously.

She actually also felt there might be some problem, but she hadn’t, and dared not, think in such a bad direction.

She only hoped that this friend of hers was just somewhat special.

She was a Grass and Tree Elf who had survived the hands of those evil Wizards!

There must be something special about her, right?

”Of course it’s true. Just finding some information. Once I find it, I will definitely bring you this good news when I come back next time!”

”Mmhmm!”

After comforting this Grass and Tree Elf, I planned to leave the Dungeon World with Big Sis Bai.

The reason I didn’t proceed now was that I still had other things to do.

The experiments on this dead Grass and Tree Embryo would take a long time, so naturally, there was no rush.

Furthermore, giving Ling Yi time to buffer and accept was better; being too eager for quick success and instant benefits wasn’t good either.

And the place I was going to was naturally the Primal Dream State Laboratory.

After all, I had left for about a day, so I should see if Muli and the others could still adapt.

Of course, the more important thing was to observe if there were any abnormalities with Fool’s Dream.

Even though Fool’s Dream’s life experiment was looked after by an independent clone, and there was also the Great Tree of Knowledge for key information monitoring, psychologically, it was still better for the main body to take a look every day, just for peace of mind.

And for this trip, I naturally went with Big Sis Bai.

As a Body Cultivation Witch who mastered the Dream State Domain Order, Big Sis Bai naturally had permission to enter and exit the Primal Dream State Laboratory.

There was no need to worry about this point.

”Oh, it’s Little Han? You’ve only been gone for a day, right? You’re back again?”

”Hah Bai Yu came too?”

Seeing the two figures arrive at the laboratory, practically everyone here was a familiar witch.

After all, there were only so many permissions in this laboratory, and they were basically all familiar faces.

Regarding Bai Yu’s arrival, the ones who cared most were naturally Long and the other two Body Cultivation Witches.

At this moment, the one maintaining the Primal Dream State was still Muli.

It could be felt that her mastery of the Primal Dream State was gradually becoming handy.

”I didn’t expect Little Han to return to the laboratory so soon. I thought you would give yourself a long vacation of ten days or so to relax.”

”That’s right. It’s only been a day, right? Proper rest helps improve efficiency!”

”If I remember correctly, this semester is already over, right? Don’t you plan to take a break during the holidays?”

”Mainly I couldn’t let it go so I deliberately came back to take a look,” I responded casually.

”It’s fine, Little Han, you don’t need to worry. I know you maintained the Primal Dream State for so long, so how could we be worse than you? Besides, we are three witches.”

Muli was the first to speak.

”It’s not that I don’t trust you sisters. Mainly I’m afraid of some accident happening. The Primal Dream State is a very terrifying place; even I dare not explore it endlessly. I am also thinking about the safety of you sisters.”

”Then thanks for the concern.”

Muli didn’t continue on this topic but looked at Bai Yu.

Regarding this witch, Bai Yu, they had a very deep impression of her.

If a word had to be used to describe her, it would be... Genius!

She was the most talented Transcendent Body Cultivation Witch they had ever seen!

Of course, Little Han was a Lesser Witch, so she wasn’t ranked for the time being.
