Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1714: Chapter 1046: The Situation in Mountain City

Liang Yuan nodded slightly and said with a smile, “That’s good. What kind of settlement do you use for trading over here?”

“Superpower Stones. Our Department Store Alliance only has two settlement methods, one is with Superpower Stones, the other is bartering. If it’s bartering, both parties need to discuss the value of the items.”

“There’s quite a fluctuation in between, I can’t give a specific price, sorry.” Bai Lingzhen said with a smile.

Liang Yuan could tell that Bai Lingzhen was a strong woman, very adept at business.

Looking at her radiant appearance, it’s hard to imagine that she is the leader of a fleet.

However, when she talks, she also shows a laid-back manner.

This aligns with Liang Yuan’s stereotype of Sichuan women.

Liang Yuan laughed, “These matters will have our professionals coordinate with you. When it’s time for business talks, they’ll handle it with you.”

“I came over this time to ask you what the situation in Shu Zhongrong City is like? You’ve come all this way, you must have seen more than us. What is the situation in the western cities now? Can you talk to us about it?”

Bai Lingzhen smiled bitterly and said, “Rongcheng is pretty much the same as here, it was flooded a long time ago too.”

“There aren’t many places left to stay over there now, aside from a few particularly high mountains, only Floating Islands and Floating Islands are habitable.”

“But luckily, the western side is mountainous with sparse population, so in the initial phase, there were quite a few survivors.”

“Everyone used trees that hadn’t been submerged yet to make a lot of boats and carriers, and quite a few people have survived so far.”

“Overall, the population shouldn’t be much less than here.”

Liang Yuan was surprised by this and asked, “Isn’t the altitude higher over there? Even they were submerged?”

To be honest, Liang Yuan hadn’t expected this.

He thought the terrain in the west was higher, so the flood shouldn’t have submerged even Shu Zhong.

However, Bai Lingzhen shook her head and said, “If the flood was only temporary, the heavy rains halted, and the floodwaters would naturally flow downhill.”

“But the problem is, the torrential rain never stopped, the flood never had time to drain downhill.”

“So the result is that our area got flooded too.”

Bai Lingzhen’s words left Liang Yuan in amazement.

Only then did he realize there were assumptions earlier.

It’s akin to a sink with its drain cover removed, water flows in from the faucet while draining below.

But if the drainage speed can’t keep up with the inflow pace, the sink will naturally overflow.

The western terrain is indeed high, but the torrential rain has never stopped.

Though the mountains there are high, it also causes drainage difficulties.

Most water would accumulate between mountain ranges.

This leads to rapid flooding over there as well.

Thinking of this, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but consider the situation elsewhere, fearing it wouldn’t be much better than Rongcheng.

Because the terrain of Shu Zhong is pretty similar overall.

Even so, Liang Yuan couldn’t help asking, “On your way here, how were the other places?”

Bai Lingzhen nodded, with a stern expression, “All are difficult.”

“Basically everywhere is flooded.”

“Regardless of terrain elevation, continuous rain means the flood can’t drain away, and the water level will surely rise.”

Zhuang Shuyuan couldn’t help but ask, “What about the highland regions? Surely the highlands wouldn’t be flooded, right?”

Bai Lingzhen shook her head, “We didn’t go in that direction, but if it’s raining globally, I’m afraid it wouldn’t be much better there either.”

“Our Department Store Alliance has experts analyzing. If there’s no rain over there, it might be snowing, and snowing doesn’t fare much better than rain.”

“At least the water can support boat navigation, we can survive above the water.”

“If it snows, we’re done for.”

“After all, water can carry people in navigation, but snowy plains cannot.”

“Those snow layers are floating, stepping into them might lead to direct falling, and if you’re not an Ice Attribute or Water Attribute Superpower User, you’d probably suffocate inside.”

“Of course, these are just our experts’ predictions. We haven’t sent anyone to check it out.”

Liang Yuan was puzzled, “Why not go and have a look?”

“It’s sparsely populated there anyway. We go there, and might not even have supplies on the road.”

“Who do we trade with there?”

“Plus, people there who only raise livestock might see my ship and come to rob our goods. If going only results in robbery with no benefits, what’s the point for us?”

Liang Yuan frowned, “At least confirm if it’s really flooded there or covered in snow.”

“Maybe there are still military forces from Dragon Country present.”

Bai Lingzhen chuckled, “What’s the point? Haven’t you seen the remnants of military forces in each place?”

“Tell me, without national leadership, are the independent military forces still the military that protects citizens?”

Liang Yuan paused, recalling Guangfu Military District and Jingzhou Military District, indeed it seemed that way.

In the apocalypse, the military has lost the shine it had before the disaster; they’ve turned into warlord representatives akin to those in the Republic era.

Finding the military indeed holds no significance anymore.

Does Liang Yuan have to hand over Yangshan?

Thinking about this, Liang Yuan became enlightened and laughed.

Regardless of how the highland region is, it doesn’t really relate to himself or Yangshan anymore.

He just needs to continue developing Yangshan Shelter well.

However, he was still curious whether that area was flooded.

If there’s time, he’d definitely go and take a look.

The two chatted a while longer, with Liang Yuan primarily understanding the situation of high-altitude regions now.

From the information obtained from Bai Lingzhen, the situation in the high-altitude regions in the west isn’t much better than Jiangnan Province here.

The floods also ravage, but the only advantage over there is the multitude of mountains and trees.

In the initial eruption of the flood, after many realized what’s happening, they had time to run towards nearby mountains.

There’s a Mountain City over there, so escaping from the city to move onto the mountains is actually quite convenient.

Coupled with the availability of various trees to make boats, and a large number of Mutated Fruits in the forests.

This led to the emergence of Superpower Users there earlier, and they promptly flourished and grew strong.

The overall development path was half a year ahead of Jiangnan Province here.

Keep in mind, in the rapid development phase of Superpower Technology.

Half a year is enough for the technological progress of an area to complete a cycle of iteration.

Just from the Department Store Alliance represented by the present Bai Lingzhen, you can tell.

They’re already consciously expanding their influence outward.

What does this indicate?

It indicates they’ve digested the local opportunities and possibilities, and are starting to explore externally.

Meanwhile, in Jiangnan Province here, under Liang Yuan’s presence, the development pace is rapid, but it’s merely completed the unification process.

Overall, Jiangnan Province’s development still lags behind other areas.
