Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1320 - 653: News of Spirit Jade Island

”Spirit Jade Island! Are you few all from Spirit Jade Island?”

Liang Yuan was filled with surprise and quickly asked, ”Where are Wang Ling’Er and Wang Yu’Er? How did you end up in that dungeon?”

The young man named Ye Nan choked and said, ”Mr. Liang, please save our Island Lord and the others.”

”They are trapped in the Abyss now!”

Liang Yuan was instantly shocked, ”What? Abyss?”

The term ’Abyss’ was something Liang Yuan had learned from the military.

The Abyss, like the Celestial Abyss, is a special area formed when those floating islands of giant corpses from the sky sink underwater.

In these areas, the creatures originally parasitizing the Floating Island rapidly evolve, adapting to the external environment, forming distinct Parasitic Beasts.

These creatures are inherently extremely powerful, and once they adapt to the aquatic environment, they become terrifying giant beasts.

No less terrifying than the giant beasts from the Floating Islands in the sky.

Liang Yuan just hadn’t expected that near the Dark Abyss Mouth, there would also be the presence of an Abyss!

”Tell me exactly what happened after you left Yangshan.” Liang Yuan immediately asked Ye Nan.

Ye Nan, with reddened eyes, said, ”After we left Yangshan, we headed straight toward the Linjiang estuary.”

”Unexpectedly, halfway through, the Spirit Turtle suddenly sensed something underwater and, out of the Island Lord’s control, dived underwater.”

”As soon as it went underwater, the Island Lord immediately ordered us to activate the Barrier to resist the high pressure underwater, while she kept urging the Spirit Turtle to leave the water.”

”But the Spirit Turtle seemed to go mad, completely out of the Island Lord’s control, kept diving, and actually reached a region of underwater islands.”

”That underwater island was enveloped by a Barrier, containing various powerful Mutant Beasts and a large number of Mutated Fruits and other precious resources.”

”The Island Lord suspected it might be a sunken Floating Island.”

”Seeing the abundant resources on that island, everyone was tempted and decided to explore the Floating Island.”

”But unexpectedly, the island was inhabited by a very fearsome group of Mutant Beasts, and as the Spirit Turtle entered the Barrier, it was immediately attacked.”

”In the end, the Spirit Turtle was severely injured, and the Island Lord had to lead us into the depths of the Abyss.”

”Within the depths of the Abyss, we encountered numerous Merfolk attacks; their power is immensely strong, excessively so, each Merfolk has Combat Power at the Genetic Species Level.”

”We could only desperately hide within the Abyss’s islands, but there were too many monsters inside the Abyss, trapping us within, unable to escape.”

”Thankfully, the Young Island Lord is an Earth Attribute Superpower User, hiding us underground.”

”But even so, when a few of us went out to search for food, we were captured by those Merfolk.”

”And then we were imprisoned in that underground tomb.”

Liang Yuan’s expression was serious as he asked, ”What’s with that ancient tomb? Do you know anything about it?”

Ye Nan quickly said, ”We don’t know much about the ancient tomb, but I know about that museum; it originally was a museum in the park, with exhibits mostly from the Stone Age, including many Oracle Bone Script fragments.”

”Before the end of days, the museum wasn’t well-known, and few people visited, leading to its free admission policy.”

”After being captured by those Merfolk, we realized there was an ancient tomb beneath the museum.”

”We initially numbered over a dozen people, and during this period, those Merfolk would frequently take one of us away; we have no idea for what purpose.”

”Aren’t those Merfolk transformed human superpower users?” Zhang Peng couldn’t help but interrupt Ye Nan, asking.

Ye Nan shook his head repeatedly, ”No, no, these Merfolk are not human; they absolutely are not human.”

”They don’t understand human language, and they have their own internal language; we tried communicating with them, but they completely treated us like livestock or aberrations.”

”So I’m sure they are definitely not humans! They are pure Merfolk, true non-human creatures!”

Zhang Peng’s expression changed slightly, ”Pure Merfolk? But, why do we awaken superpowers and undergo changes toward these non-human creature directions?”

”How could our genes contain these non-human creature genes?”

Ye Nan was speechless, shaking his head, ”I don’t know either.”

Liang Yuan then spoke solemnly, ”The creatures evolving on this planet, tracing their roots, should have all evolved from primitive single-cell organisms.”

”Through countless years of evolution and reproduction, diversifying in forms and races for survival.”

”So it’s not difficult to understand why there are similar genetic fragments.”

Liang Yuan recalled reading scientific explanations saying that in ancient times, the entire Blue Star was actually ocean.

Life too originated in the oceans.

During the continual process of evolution, some lifeforms chose to leave the ocean and enter the land for survival and reproduction.

Slowly evolving from aquatic creatures to amphibians, and gradually transforming into terrestrial creatures.

There’s also research from scientists suggesting that the ancestors of humans might likely have been fish.

These claims have related evidence and hypotheses.

Liang Yuan was unsure if these theories were true or not, but it seems that humans indeed have many other biological gene fragments in their bodies.

Facing danger, humans awaken this part of the genes, thus gaining a superpower, adapting gradually to this era filled with crises.

However, Liang Yuan was equally puzzled about where these Merfolk came from.

Stories of Merfolk or Mermaids have indeed existed throughout history.

But stories are stories; before the apocalypse, none had ever truly discovered a Merfolk or Fishman.

Not even traces of their existence were found.

It’s possible there might be related skeletal fossils, but none were made public by the country.

In any case, creatures from those mythic tales had long disappeared before the apocalypse.

Now with the arrival of the apocalypse and the emergence of superpowers, why did these monsters follow suit?

How did they come to exist?”

Liang Yuan furrowed his brows and said, ”Could it be that these monsters all emerged from the Abyss?”

”The Abyss Island was formed from a Floating Island that fell, but where did these Floating Islands originate?”

All these doubts seem to lead back to the world above the thunderstorm clouds in the sky, back to the question of where the flood came from.

Liang Yuan had another important question at this moment: The ancient tomb certainly couldn’t be a structure brought by the Abyss.

This ancient tomb, at first glance, was built by the Blue Star civilization.

The stone coffin on the altar essentially indicates that this ancient tomb was constructed by humans.

What are these Merfolk doing gathered there?

And what is the real story behind the Mermaid remains inside the stone coffin?

Too many questions emerge from Liang Yuan’s mind, yet no one can explain it all.

At this point, Zhang Peng couldn’t help but say, ”Mr. Liang, you mentioned that even exotic races like Merfolk and Mermaids have appeared; could the dragons and phoenixes from ancient mythology also be real?”

”Could the Ancient Divine Beasts recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas actually be Mutant Beasts?”

Liang Yuan’s heart was struck as he looked at Zhang Peng, ”You think so too?”

”I think it’s not impossible. After all, there once was a great flood in history.”

”Could it be that there once existed an era like the one we’re in now, where floods erupted and various Mutant Beasts roamed?”

”The later generations recorded these Mutant Beasts and formed various legends.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, ”I have thought about your hypothesis before, but I can’t be sure.”

Zhang Peng couldn’t help but add, ”I think there’s a good chance.”

”Doesn’t the thunderstorm cloud in the sky resemble what ancient people said about the tribulation?”

”Could the Floating Island in the sky be imagined as the heavenly palace by ancient people?”

”Additionally, might the Floating Islands within the flood be regarded by ancient people as overseas Immortal Islands, with items like Immortal Pills and spiritual fruits actually being Mutated Fruits?”

”Could the so-called Immortals be Superpower Users?”

Zhang Peng couldn’t help but indulge in his imagination, speaking fervently.

The more he spoke, the more he felt that his hypothesis was likely true.

Liang Yuan patted his shoulder, saying, ”Don’t get excited; these are just our speculations.”

”We have urgent matters to attend to. Rescuing the people from Spirit Jade Island is imperative, and we also need to solve the matter with Fanshan Island.”

”Chang Yuntao is eyeing us relentlessly in Baoshan City, and we must guard against him.”

”As for the truth of the world, we currently do not have the qualifications to explore it.”

”Once we enhance our abilities, sooner or later we’ll figure it all out.”

Liang Yuan then looked at Ye Nan and said, ”Tell me first about the situation in the Abyss and how your Island Lord and the others are doing.”

”We will first return to the Dark Abyss Mouth, and once we’ve dealt with matters here, we’ll find a way to rescue our friends at Spirit Jade Island.”

Ye Nan, filled with gratitude, quickly explained the situation of the Abyss.

This Abyss is located downstream from Linjiang and is not too far from here.

Liang Yuan listened to his description of the location, his expression gradually revealing a hint of peculiarity.

That location, how does it sound like the direction of the former Dark Abyss Mouth?

Could it really be as Feng Jiangong and Zhang Yujiang said, that the area around Floating Islands is most likely to manifest a Celestial Abyss and an Abyss?

”The Island Lord and the others are in a dire situation now, hiding inside the Abyss Island where they’ve built a crude dwelling in the underground space.”

”Their food depends on sneaking out to hunt the Mutant Beasts in the Abyss for survival.”

”As for drinks, they’re not an issue; with Water Element Superpower Users around, they can create water sources anytime.”

”But how do you breathe? Isn’t it all water underwater?” Zhang Peng asked.

Ye Nan replied, ”The Abyss is essentially a Floating Island; you’re familiar with the situation inside a Floating Island.”

”Its interior isn’t solid but is similar to a biological organ; it has pathways for blood circulation and giant organ-like structures akin to heart and lungs.”

”We reside inside the lung organ, where there’s already a small ecological cycle system, allowing survival.”

”Besides the threat from Mutant Beasts, the interior is rich in resources, boasting abundant Blood Crystals, enabling us to freely enhance our abilities.”

”Both Island Lords have experienced rapid advancement in cultivation, reaching the existence level of 100 points in their main attributes.”

”However, they cannot continue improving; the Island Lord mentioned that gene recombination is now necessary.”

”They’ve consumed too much Mutant Beast flesh, gaining a plethora of miscellaneous genes, so they dare not attempt a breakthrough.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, generally understanding the situation in the Abyss.

It is similar to a sunken Floating Island, with reasonably abundant resources, fostering numerous Parasitic Beast-type Mutant Beasts.

These Mutant Beasts are powerful enough to pose a threat to the safety of everyone on Spirit Jade Island.

This is the most deadly danger.

”Alright then, you guys follow me first; once I solve the matter with Fanshan Island, I’ll personally visit the Abyss to rescue your Island Lord.”

Liang Yuan said to Ye Nan and the others.

Ye Nan and the others were instantly filled with gratitude, hurriedly bowing to Liang Yuan.

Liang Yuan quickly raised them, saying, ”Time is of the essence; we must immediately return and resolve the situation at Fanshan Island.”

Immediately, several people followed Liang Yuan, flying directly to the Dark Abyss Mouth.

Soon after, they arrived back at the Dark Abyss Mouth.

Just as they returned to the Dark Abyss Mouth, good news emerged.
