Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1191: Chapter 531: Preparing for Winter

”Is this snow?”

Upon hearing Liang Yuan’s words, Zhao Kai immediately realized.

This wasn’t caused by Liang Yuan’s ability; it was actual ice particles falling from the sky!

Before the great flood, Zhao Kai and others called these ice particles ’snow pellets’, while in some places they were known as ’snow grit’ or ’rice snow’.

Zhao Kai gently squeezed it, and the snow pellet immediately shattered.

He remembered this thing; it was formed when water vapor in the high atmosphere condensed in cold air to form ice particles, typically 0.3 to 2.5 millimeters in diameter, spherical or conical in shape, and brittle, breaking under light pressure.

Its appearance usually signifies that cold air is coming, a sign that snow is imminent!

Zhao Kai never expected that winter would arrive so suddenly!

Liang Yuan said in a deep voice, ”Let Old Ma and the others speed up the construction progress. It is crucial to have the houses built before the full onset of winter, and also to accelerate the progress on the floating bridge. The weather is too cold; construction in the water will be challenging soon.”

”Forget it, notify all senior management at Yangshan to immediately hold a meeting.”

Liang Yuan directly decided to convene a meeting.

The appearance of the snow pellets signified that winter was imminent.

All departments at Yangshan needed to immediately prepare for the coming harsh winter.

Liang Yuan had a premonition that this winter would likely not be easy.

Zhao Kai quickly sent someone to inform all departments to gather at the Leader’s Mansion for the meeting.

In no time, Yangshan’s senior management rapidly gathered there.

Liang Yuan sat at the head seat, with Yang Mei, Ding Yan, Song Wen, Old Ma, Granny Li, Cai Zhi, and others already present.

The Research Department, Medical Department, Inspection Department, Mining Department, Breeding Department...

Nowadays, Yangshan had expanded to include two to three dozen departments of varying sizes!

The head of each department, along with their deputies, took their seats.

The large living room of the Leader’s Mansion seemed somewhat cramped.

Liang Yuan opened with a deep voice, ”Winter is coming, everyone. It’s snowing outside, and in just a few days, it might turn into heavy snow.”

”We will soon face the challenges of winter.”

”According to the winter preparedness plan we made earlier, the first issue is food storage.”

”Song Wen, let’s hear from your Agriculture Department.”

Upon hearing this, Song Wen immediately nodded, picked up a report, and said, ”This is the data report from the past half-year. Currently, the main grains are gorgon fruit, soybeans, wheat, and sweet potatoes which have all been harvested. But the rice was planted late, and I’m afraid it won’t be harvested before winter sets in.”

”Currently, the total grain amounts to over 3 million jin, but vegetables and fruits are much less...”

As Song Wen reported, smiles appeared on everyone’s faces; over 3 million jin of grain should last a long time, right?

However, Liang Yuan didn’t think so, as he knew that after Superpower Users awakened their abilities, their appetites became enormous, so the 3 million jin of grain, while sounding substantial, weren’t really that much.

Fortunately, Yangshan didn’t rely solely on grain. The breeding farms and slaughterhouses had long been purchasing various mutant creature meat.

Especially the mutant fish, which provided Liang Yuan with over ten thousand Points daily.

These fish were sent to processing plants to be made into various food products, some directly stored in Yangshan’s ice warehouses.

Moreover, Liang Yuan’s inventory contained countless mutant fish.

Regarding food, he wasn’t worried at all; even without these, he still had the system to extract food whenever he needed it.

Of course, nowadays, he no longer used the system to extract food; it was too wasteful.

In the long run, he planned to relocate the Agriculture Department to the Mirage Snake Space.

With winter coming, the Mirage Snake Space, being an independent space, shouldn’t be affected, right?

By then, they could grow crops there while sending the elderly and infirm there, leaving strong Superpower Users at the Yangshan base.

On this basis, they would train warriors to form a militarized force for Yangshan.

”Well done, the Agriculture Department set a good example this year.”

Liang Yuan thought for a moment and continued, ”We don’t know how low the temperatures will drop this winter, so warming measures must be well-prepared.”

”Continue to vigorously cultivate more mutated sunflowers, striving to ensure every household has its Sunshine Room.”

”Old Ma, I’m entrusting this task to you.”

Ma Guocai immediately nodded, ”Rest assured, the new residential constructions now all come equipped with Sunshine Rooms and underfloor heating systems.”

”In the Sunshine Rooms, we’ve installed solar water heaters, providing continuous hot water heating to ensure indoor temperature stability.”

”Furthermore, following your instructions, the current residential power supply system is operational, with the main line connected to the Yangshan Complex.”

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuan’s heart stirred slightly.

Back then, he spent a fortune to exchange for that generator, placing it at the bottom of the Yangshan Complex as the power supply for all of Yangshan.

But during that time, considering the scarcity of Superpower Stones, he only supplied power to essential departments like the complex, breeding farm, and slaughterhouse.

As the mining operations heated up, more and more ores were being unearthed.

Now, with an expanded power supply range, common residential buildings could apply to have their electricity connected.

Of course, using electricity required the consumption of Points.

Besides, the R&D team, under Dong Jie’s leadership and with the assistance of Li Hanzhong and others, had developed the Spiritual Voltage Converter.

The energy from the Superpower Stone can be activated and converted into electrical energy, forming a mobile power source similar to a battery.

Production has already started, and it will soon be available for sale.

Liang Yuan personally studied this Spiritual Voltage Converter, which mainly uses a Thunder Attribute Rune Bone.

This Rune Bone was extracted from a mutated eel, capable of releasing a voltage up to sixty thousand volts.

Li Hanzhong and others, using the concept of transformers, successfully developed a superpower version transformer, stabilizing the voltage released by the Rune Bone, thus solving the problem.

The invention of electricity is an important step for humanity towards civilization.

Under Yangshan’s power system coverage, Liang Yuan believed Yangshan’s technological level would surely advance rapidly.

After Ma Guocai finished his report, it was soon the turn of the Breeding Department and the Slaughterhouse to report.

They were also planning to relocate to the Mirage Snake Space, but the breeding farms here must still be maintained because even if an army is built later, self-sufficiency will be necessary.

The breeding farms have gone through several expansions, and the types of creatures have diversified. Not only do they have Fire Bamboo Rats, Plum Blossom Pigs, and Red Chickens, but also various edible Mutant Fish, Mutant Ducks, and Mutant Geese.

Among these, the numbers of mutated chickens, ducks, and geese are the largest because their growth cycle is fast and they taste good.

After the meeting, each department received new tasks.

Prepare for the harsh winter with all efforts!

The entire Yangshan became busy. People had no time to dwell in the sorrow of the Three Great Sects’ attack and quickly threw themselves into new work.

This busyness diluted the sadness of recent days, and Yangshan gradually regained a vibrant look.

In the midst of this fervent activity, a week passed in the blink of an eye.

On this day, Li Qinghua returned to Yangshan with good news.

Under his efforts, the Mirage Snake Space had drifted near Yangshan.

Liang Yuan was instantly delighted and said, ”Great, this way, even if the river freezes during severe cold, we are at least nearby and can look out for each other.”

Li Qinghua nodded with a smile and said, ”I’ve been worried that if the two places are too far apart, it might give the enemy an opportunity.”

Liang Yuan asked, ”Have you found Wu Yaobang’s main body?”

Li Qinghua shook his head, ”This guy hides very well. He hasn’t appeared for a long time, and we don’t know where he’s hiding. I even suspect he might still have a clone hidden in the Mirage Snake Space.”

Liang Yuan shook his head and said, ”Since he knows about the Mirage Snake Space, he would never give up.”

”A floating island like the Mirage Snake Space is much better than a regular floating island. Who wouldn’t want to take it?”

”I’m afraid he’s brewing something big.”

Li Qinghua sneered coldly upon hearing this, ”He better come with his main body so I can completely kill him.”

Liang Yuan smiled and said, ”It’s basically impossible. With his cloning ability, the main body could hide until death without ever coming out.”

Li Qinghua clearly understood this too and could only sigh helplessly, then said, ”Recently, the snow is falling more frequently, and the grains are getting larger. It probably won’t be long before they turn into snowflakes.”

”Has the temperature dropped in the Mirage Snake Space?” Liang Yuan asked immediately.

Li Qinghua nodded slightly, ”It’s also dropping. Although not as quickly as outside, I can clearly feel the temperature decreasing.”

Liang Yuan’s expression slightly darkened and he said, ”What’s going on? Isn’t the Mirage Snake Space an independent space? Why is it also cooling down?”

Li Qinghua smiled bitterly and said, ”Although the Mirage Snake Space is independent, if it’s wrapped in an icy and snowy world, how could it possibly remain completely unaffected?”

”Temperature transference happens, even through various Spatial Barriers, it’s just a bit slower.”

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuan slightly furrowed his brow and said, ”It seems you all should also prepare for winter over there as soon as possible.”

Li Qinghua said, ”I’ve already asked the construction department for help to build buildings. With the addition of Superpower Users, the progress is fast.”

”Also, Granny Li and others personally led people to plant Mutated Sunflowers over the mountains. The first batch of seeds has already sprouted. I hope they bloom before winter to provide more light sources.”

Liang Yuan nodded and said, ”Later, let Tang Dechang go over and see if he can use his superpower to accelerate growth.”

”By the way, Mr. Liang, I have something to report to you.”

Li Qinghua suddenly thought of something and became solemn.

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuan glanced sideways and asked, ”What is so serious?”

”Do you remember the brother and sister we encountered when we killed the Swordtail Sea Snake?”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan thought of the girl who called herself Lin Miaomiao and asked, ”I remember, what’s up?”

”Last time, I agreed with them to trade there again in a week.”

”These two are members of Furong Valley Shelter in Ji’an City. I was thinking that it might be possible to use them to learn about Ji’an City’s situation.”

”Guess what, I actually found out an important piece of information.”

Liang Yuan raised an eyebrow and asked, ”What important information?”

”Lin Jingtang said, a few days ago, the Valley Master of Furong Valley left with a group of genetic species experts for an urgent operation.”

”According to him, the Valley Master of Furong Valley rarely leaves Furong Valley, and such a big event attracted a lot of attention from the people in Furong Valley.”

”Rumors circulated within Furong Valley that a masterless Floating Island had appeared downstream of Linjiang, and after getting the news, various forces rushed there.”

”Our Linjiang City is downstream of Linjiang, and further down is the main course of the Yangtze River. If there’s really a Floating Island, do you think the people from Guangfu will make a move?”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but look a bit peculiar.

The news of the Floating Island downstream of Linjiang had reached even the forces in Ji’an City?
