Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1016: Chapter 403: Transformation Ability User (Part 2)

”Now that you are leading, I, Zhou Wanxi, am the first to respond!”

”I’m the second!” Zhang Hengliang slapped the table and immediately exclaimed excitedly.

His slightly plump face was filled with excitement: ”Damn it, why is it that those who arrived first can occupy this floating island, while those of us who came later have to face such harsh conditions to settle on the island? We’ve long been ready to fight them!”

”Count me in, Mr. Liang!”

From the back of the crowd, Xiao Mingtian was also the first to shout out, his eyes shining with a sharp light, evidently not one to accept mediocrity.

Then Xue Guohua, Zhai Guofeng, Tang Dechang, and others all slapped the table and clamored to join.

This group on the bow of the ship, in order to join the City of Ice Mist, had evidently made extensive preparations.

Unfortunately, joining the City of Ice Mist and becoming a resident there was incredibly difficult, the conditions too harsh.

These people were barely scraping by, unable to accumulate enough resources.

Now, with someone as strong as Liang Yuan leading them, they were all instantly excited.

Despite partially being coerced by Liang Yuan’s ’threat,’ deep down, they all wanted to break into the City of Ice Mist!

Once the City of Ice Mist was conquered, they could all live inside and never have to worry about the great flood again.

And even if they had to bow to Liang Yuan as their leader after conquering it, they could accept that.

After all, Liang Yuan was formidable.

Seeing this, Liang Yuan was also somewhat surprised by the fierce determination of these people.

It seemed the desire to settle on the island had been there for a long time.

Right then, Liang Yuan didn’t waste words and said directly, ”Very well, since you all have this idea, let’s go all out. I now permit you to take your respective crews and immediately return to the seven ships.”

”Follow me into Mist City!”

”All ship bows gather at the Wanxi!”

”Yes!”

...

Half an hour later, the seven ships set off again.

On the Wanxi, Liang Yuan stood under the wooden shelter, occupying the seat that originally belonged to Zhou Wanxi.

Zhou Wanxi and others, without seats, stood to the sides of Liang Yuan.

The mist rolled, making it unclear ahead. Liang Yuan asked, ”Who can tell me about the situation here?”

Zhou Wanxi immediately said, ”Mr. Liang, I’ve been in and out of Floating Island dozens of times, and I have a fairly good understanding of the situation there.”

Liang Yuan asked, ”Tell me about it.”

”Yes.”

Zhou Wanxi immediately began to describe the situation on the Floating Island.

”Mr. Liang, around the Floating Island are hidden reefs, making it difficult for large ships to approach. Only near the Mist Forest is there a narrow channel that can accommodate medium-sized cargo ships in and out.”

”Can our seven ships enter?” Liang Yuan asked directly.

”Yes, my Wanxi and a few others are all medium-sized cargo vessels. There is no problem entering the Mist Forest, but...”

”But what?”

”But the Mist Forest also has territory that has long been occupied by several mercenary corps, especially the channel area, which they have developed into a port.”

”Without their permission, docking is not allowed.”

Liang Yuan’s brow raised slightly: ”Isn’t it said that the Mist Forest is full of mutant beasts? How have these mercenary groups established a foothold?”

Zhou Wanxi said, ”These mercenary corps are not outsiders. In fact, many mercenary corps leaders are masters from the City of Ice Mist.”

”They have built fortress bases in the Mist Forest, allowing them to survive there.”

”Outsiders like us wanting to enter the Mist Forest have to join the mercenary corps and work for them.”

Liang Yuan raised an eyebrow and asked, ”What are these mercenary corps staying in the Mist Forest for?”

”To hunt mutant beasts, there are quite a few of them in the Mist Forest, along with a superpower stone mine. They also organize people to mine and then transport the resources back to the City of Ice Mist.”

”How does the City of Ice Mist solve its supplies?” Liang Yuan suddenly asked.

Because, according to what he knew, the Mist Forest was quite dangerous, with a lot of mutant beast activity, certainly not suitable for large-scale grain production.

So, what do the people in the City of Ice Mist eat?

Before Zhou Wanxi could answer, Zhang Hengliang interrupted, ”I know this. Behind the City of Ice Mist is the Cold Ice Snowfield. It’s icy, but there grows a plant called [Ice Grain].”

”This plant has a developed root system and can be ground into something like flour, which is the staple food of the people of the City of Ice Mist.”

”Then the people of the City of Ice Mist catch fish and hunt mutant beasts. They don’t lack meat resources; what’s scarce is vegetables.”

”So, in the City of Ice Mist, vegetable prices have always been high. Those mercenaries who enter the Mist Forest are not all just for hunting mutant beasts; many actually go in to find wild vegetables to sell.”

Liang Yuan understood. How could such a large City of Ice Mist not have survival conditions?

Liang Yuan pondered for a moment; in the way he developed a shelter, he would certainly vigorously cultivate these edible wild vegetables to meet the residents’ food needs.

But clearly, the Master of Fog City didn’t think this way.

Moreover, it seems that this Master of Fog City only built the City of Ice Mist and controls the Ice Armor Warrior team, without much achievement in other areas.

They don’t even seem to welcome too many people onto this Floating Island.

Liang Yuan thought for a moment and understood the Master of Fog City’s reasoning.

This Floating Island has limited resources, and they clearly don’t want to admit too many people.

The reason his Yangshan Shelter vigorously developed its population was not only because he predicted that population would be a crucial factor in the future development of a shelter.
