The Great Thief

The war ended like a dream.

Of course, Blood Red War Flag didn’t defeat the Stronghold, and they didn’t defeat Fat Monkey’s Fel Reaver either.

Fat Monkey was inconsistent in his movements. He didn’t follow a pattern in making his moves at all, giving Blood Red War Flag hope one moment, and stripping it away the next. Evidently, this wasn’t his style. It was more likely that this was the mark of the commander on the field, Wandering.

Apparently, someone recommended that Wandering be added onto the list of ‘Stunners’ in the game. This was code for those who were hot but vicious.

The three of them, along with Fat Monkey, became massively rich too. Since the rates of the odds were about 19-fold, and each risked 300,000, even though there were some deductions because of platform fees, they would still earn 20 million.

However, that wasn’t to say that the money was solely theirs. Lu Li found them, and after some deep conversation, they became minor shareholders in Ruling Sword.

The three still thought it wasn’t fair, but it was already too late.

With 50 million dollars, they could finally take a breather.

Despite the Stronghold auction fees, they still benefited from equipment. In order to help Ruling Sword protect Strongholds, the Life Alliance gave a bit of their money too.

The cost for a single battle was the consumption of hundreds of Strengthening Stones, and they still had to repair equipment afterwards. After working out all the expenses, it was even more than making a new Fel Reaver.

With three filthy rich guys and their funds, Lu Li immediately felt at ease.

Now, the whole game was talking about the three Fel Reavers. No one cared anymore about who owned which Stronghold.

Actually, in this stronghold battle, there were very few changes in ownership.

One of the few changes was with the Wings of Dawn, who had plotted against Ruling Sword with Blood Red War Flag. They lost their own stronghold.

The incoming owners were Majin Temple. They seemed to have established a new joint alliance with Gods of Dusk.

It had to be said that their timing was perfect, and they collated their intelligence well too.

Since the beginning, Lu Li had never thought that the Wings of Dawn would help Blood Red War Flag against himself. He hadn’t wronged them thus far.

The clubs in the gaming circle were like countries fighting a war; alliances were often short lived. Seventh Heaven were working together with Blood Red War Flag, but they went in alone this time.

Seventh Heaven defeated Gale Legion’s Desolace and became a club that owned two Strongholds.

Actually, the Stronghold battles that Ruling Sword wasn’t part of were still amazing. They just didn’t receive as much of the spotlight as those battles with Fel Reavers and Infernals.

Glory Capital didn’t have many Infernals left. They didn’t even use many of them when they fought against Ruling Sword.

After all, they had to make a choice between attacking Ruling Sword and defending their own Stronghold.

They had six strongholds, so it wasn’t easy to defend them all. If they hadn’t taken too many of the top Gale Legion players, then Gale Legion would still have able to defend their own Desolace.

The whole world was paying attention to the battle of Grey Valley’s second Stronghold, where a Fel Reaver had appeared. However, Lu Li was designing something else in his mind, or rather, he had already begun to plan and even put it into practice. He had begun to arrange this after he knew that Wandering was using a Fel Reaver.

Firstly, he shifted a lot of people in the three-way alliance to book out venues everywhere, which would mix up their time limits. This was so that no one would see where the Fel Reaver blueprint actually was.

After this, they would go everywhere to spread news about where the Fel Reaver blueprint was.

Of course, the news was fake.

According to the more reliable information on the market, this blueprint of Ruling Sword’s had come from the Ango’rosh Ogres.

These ogres lived on plundering. They would plunder from anyone, including the Scourge.

That was how Ruling Sword was able to get the Fel Reaver blueprint which was considered top-secret by the Scourge. What was more, they chased them out on that same night, which made Blood Red War Flag and their allies suffer a massive loss. Each of the alliance clubs lost over a million dollars each.

They needed to get the Fel Reaver Blueprint!

Otherwise, in the next Stronghold battle and in Wild Boss fights, Ruling Sword would definitely dominate. Some people were even worried that the Fel Reaver could be used in Instance Dungeons. If that was the case, then no one would bother playing the game anymore.

Because of this, the powerful Ango’rosh Ogres brought their own terrible destruction on them.

To the players now, any of the Ango’rosh Ogres was nearly as powerful a Boss. What was even worse was that these Ogres had patrolling teams, so when everyone was fighting, new Ogres would often join.

The players were as small and weak as ants, but even a lot of ants could still kill an elephant. Apart from fighting for the Fel Reaver blueprint for themselves, each of the major clubs also issued a massive reward for finding one. As long as they could find a Fel Reaver blueprint – no, as long as they could uncover a genuine trail for where it was, they could strike it rich overnight.

“What have the Ango’rosh ever done to you?” Wandering didn’t understand.

He bragged about himself as an intellectual, but he could never understand Lu Li’s plots.

“According to the quest, the NPC hopes that I’ll expel the Ogres, so why don’t I just kill two birds with one stone?” Lu Li said somewhat proudly.

“Have you already planned this for a long time?” Wandering asked.

“What long time? I just had a good idea for how to divert losses to others. I just hope that these Ogres will drop some worthwhile things,” Lu Li answered as he rubbed his eyes with pity and sadness. “Seeing so many people go to their deaths, it’s hard for me to take.”

“Haha, don’t worry – what the monsters drop is related to how hard they are. These Ogres can easily drop Gold and even Dark Gold items, and there’s also set equipment for various professions. It’s a shame that people play PVP, otherwise, we would already have gotten a foothold,” Wandering sighed.

He still thought he wasn’t as evil as Lu Li as he looked at the stuff that Lu Li was doing.

If there was one word to described it, it would be wicked.

“In the next Stronghold battle, we’re going to get a new place,” Lu Li said.

“If we get one, how are we going to defend it?”

Wandering didn’t really understand. Although the Fel Reavers were powerful, there were so few of them. There weren’t even enough for each Stronghold to have one.

“No, after we get it, we’ll sell it,” Lu Li explained. “Glory Capital has six strongholds. It’s beocmign hard for me to bear.”

“This is really a way to make money. I don’t think anyone will trouble us next week, unless other clubs also have Fel Reavers.”

Wandering wasn’t obsessed with money, but he also knew what Ruling Sword was lacking the most at the moment.

They didn’t even have enough to pay their everyday expenses, especially when Judgement Spear was also crying out to be fed.

Considering that the two clubs had over 100 000 people, when it was all averaged out, the millions of dollars really wasn’t much money. Even when they were just paying the wages of the Elite teams, Lu Li could barely afford to give much to them.

“Even if they have Fel Reavers, they won’t choose us,” Lu Li said calmly. “If I had a Fel Reaver, I definitely wouldn’t fight a club that had Fel Reavers. I would fight one that didn’t have any so it would be easier to win.”

“I heard you were planning to go to a new map again?”

“Yeah, we’re going to stay ahead of the others as much as possible, and what’s more, I have something I have to do,” Lu Li said as he rubbed the Frigid Ring on his fingers.
