The Great Thief

As soon as Water Fairy heard there was an enemy near Lu Li, she immediately came to her senses and ran towards him.

Lu Li didn’t know if this was luck, but he noticed that one of the people running towards him was Water Fairy. However, Lu Li couldn’t see the enemy clearly as he quickly rushed to get his gun. He had to take a pre-emptive shot against the threat because he didn’t know what this person’s shooting abilities were like and he couldn’t put Water Fairy in danger.

A shot right in the head!

Lu Li aimed very steadily, and with a bit of luck, managed to land a headshot.

This headshot gave Lu Li a pleasurable sense of bloodlust. Lu Li took a breath and calmed himself. After that, he switched to an AKM and aimed the muzzle at another target who was trying to find cover.

This one was a ‘dunderhead’. Lu Li had only recently learnt the word ‘dunderhead’. This was someone who unexpectedly made his whole body visible to Lu Li, including his handsome head.

It was the perfect target for Lu Li to attack.

Water Fairy had already killed most of the people on her side, and Lu Li had also killed the dunderhead without any concern.

Getting more supplies was always pleasant. This feeling was similar to when Remnant Dream’s red hand would loot drops. Lu Li held up his gun by the shipping container to keep watch, which let Water Fairy safely search for more supplies.

“A fully kitted M416! That’s so good! There’s also a 4x scope and even a medic kit. This person is really well equipped; they even have 13 bottles of painkillers. I’ll share a few with you. What’s a good gun that I can use?” Water Fairy asked.

“I’ll give you my S12K; it’s better in close combat. I’ll give you a double length magazine too,” Lu Li answered.

The S12K was the father of close combat guns. It was like having two guns in one, and with the double length magazine there would be a capacity of ten shots. Water Fairy’s shooting skills were average, so it was better for her to use a gun with a more forgiving ammo capacity.

A powerful fully automatic submachine gun was also not bad. However, like other powerful guns, you needed certain skills to use it.

“I also got a cheek pad, a muzzle compensator and these potions for you.” Water Fairy handed these over to Lu Li. Lu Li found quite a few 7.62 bullets from the two loot boxes; both his AKM and 98K used this type of bullet. It was a shame that these guys didn’t have any Level 3 helmets or armour.

Lu Li was very vicious when he was killing, yet he wasn’t in a rush to kill. Water Fairy rarely saw this side of Lu Li.

Perhaps she actually really liked this game. It’s just that a niche game like Survival and Escape would have no way of meeting her massive occupational demands. Therefore, Water Fairy was not able to spend most of her energy on the game she enjoyed.

There were lots of types of helmets in this game, but the main helmets for protecting against bullets were divided into level 1, 2, 3 and finally level 4 – a frying pan. This would cover the bottom of the person after putting on the rest of the equipment.

A level 1 bulletproof helmet was green, and the players in the game called it the ‘excused hat’.

After searching for a while, Water Fairy helped Lu Li find a level 2 helmet. A level 3 helmet was something hard to come by and Lu Li was not too hung up on finding one.

“Air Drop! Air Drop! Above face!” Amidst the rumbling of the planes, Water Fairy’s eyes had a look of desire. An Air Drop was the dropping of provisions from planes flying above the deserted island. There were many good things inside. The term ‘above face’ meant that something was extremely close by, for example, when someone said, ‘enemy above face’, it meant an enemy was close.

However, this Air Drop couldn’t really be considered above face. The Female Tycoon’s estimate was a little off.

“Go to the garage and see if there’s a car. If there’s a car it’ll be really quick.” The Female Tycoon also seemed to have realised that her idea of ‘above face’ was a little exaggerated, but she had quickly thought of a good idea. Having a car would definitely give them a better chance of looting the Air Drop.

“Alright,” Lu Li responded. The most important thing was that they had fun, so he didn’t reject his girlfriend’s idea.

In the garage there was a blue car with four seats. Over 200 years ago (our present time), people would use this sort of transport to speed along the ground.

“Sit tight everyone, I’m about to start the engine. After I start driving, don’t get off or you could die.” Water Fairy was very interested in driving. The automobile industry had been developing for the past two or three hundred years, and now all the drivers merely treated driving as an ability without the joy of driving that people once had.

“The car god is online!”

“The driver girl is going to start the car!”

“Beep! Student card!”

“Beep! Senior’s card!”

Lu Li didn’t really know how terrifying his partner’s driving was. As it turned out, ignorance was bliss!

“Hello everyone, your battlefield correspondent here. I’m here reporting to you from the front line. Coming up, we are showing you driver goddess’ 46th time overturning the car. This spectacle we’ve all been waiting for is just about to start. According to an alleged report, the 45th time she overturned the car led to the goddess herself, as well as many other girls, to crash 37 times, which resulted in their deaths.”

When they first started off Lu Li didn’t notice anything wrong.

At most, he felt that Water Fairy’s driving was a bit uneven, like a drunk person driving. Lu Li thought she was doing this because it was just a game — there was no need to follow the road rules so carefully.

As such, he sat in the car, feeling safe and settled.

It was only when the car sped up and reached a high altitude, then fell almost headfirst back down that Lu Li realised something was wrong. He then realised he only had a little bit of HP left.

“Accident! Accident!” Water Fairy exclaimed.

Lu Li and Water Fairy then both embarrassingly laid down and bandaged themselves.

However, the barrage of online comments had already betrayed her and now even Lu Li knew that he was the victim of the 46th car accident. Maybe this was really an accident, but he would be scared to death if it wasn’t.

“Let me drive.” Lu Li was literally too scared to ride in the car again.

“That’s alright, I’ll drive a bit slower this time,” Water Fairy said, in a slightly childish, cute way.

“If you want to get the Air Drop, let me drive. There might be good things inside.”

Lu Li chose to use the Air Drop to tempt Water Fairy.

Water Fairy didn’t actually care about what was in the Air Drop; she just wanted check it out. Now that Lu Li had brought it up, she suddenly became completely compliant and sat in the passenger seat, letting him drive.

All the basics of driving, like accelerating, turning, reversing and going forward weren’t hard. When Lu Li was driving, he felt a bit calmer. At least, he wouldn’t be like Water Fairy, feeling the need to drive over every observable uneven ridge.

At a hill near the Air Drop, Lu Li stopped the car and scanned the area around it with his gun.

Some people apparently had an unbelievable natural talent for fishing around an Air Drop, hoping to find something good. However, Water fairy also knew that there was a danger to rushing ahead like this. So, she could only submissively stand with Lu Li, gun at the ready, both defending against others.

“We should quickly loot the air drop and then we’ll leave,” Lu Li suggested.
