The Great Thief

Chapter 1416: First Clear

It was the same dungeon, but the lowest level.

Sometimes, Heart of War felt embarrassed too. Most of the players on his team were mercenaries. The Gangnam Royals had lost a large amount of talent and the ones that remained didn’t all agree with him.

He was the club captain and the guild master, but he had lost his power when he organised the forces for the dungeon run.

Some core elite members with shares in the club had even chosen their own teams to display their dissatisfaction towards Heart of War for choosing Elite mode. As such, all he could do was spend money and hire mercenaries. These players were battling for money, so they truly gave it their all. Heart of War also knew that picking Elite mode wasn’t a great choice.

Even if they were to get the First Clear, it would only be on Elite mode, which was certainly nothing worth bragging about. At best, it would prevent Ruling Sword from getting another First Clear.

Heart of War didn’t know why Lu Li kept on targeting him, but in reality, Lu Li had no intention of targeting him at all. If Lu Li knew what Heart of War thought, he’d laugh spitefully. Lu Li was just moving forward, and he accidentally stomped all over Heart of War and the Gangnam Royals on his way. That was all there was to it. Not to mention, Lu Li taking the First Clear wasn’t just stomping over the Gangnam Royals alone.

Lu Li: “I’m not directing this at anyone, but allow me to say that all of you guys are weaklings!”

Of course, this wasn’t something that Lu Li would usually say. If he had the choice, there would be no announcement so that he could quietly and humbly turn into a millionaire. Those that were often at the peak would most likely be targeted and focused down by the rest. Unfortunately, he could no longer keep a low profile anymore.

Super Egg Pie: They really took the First Clear, and on Nightmare mode too. Are there any guilds that are up to the last boss at the moment?

Riding Wind and Waves: We are. We’re up to Ragnaros, but in Hard mode. We’ve tossed in tens of thousands of gold coins already and are still getting nowhere. It’s truly tiring.

Feathers like Paint: Ruling Sword 666.

Songs at Night: I don’t help old ladies cross the road, but I’m sure impressed by Lu Li. [TLN: this line is meant to be a pun that plays on the same pronunciations of some words in this sentence in Chinese.]

Coca Cola: Livestream please, guides please, Lu Li possess us please.

King: I’ll tell everyone a secret. I’ve actually been to a dungeon before with Lu Li. Liars don’t have dicks.

Manly Lilly: I’ve also been to a dungeon before with Lu Li. Liars don’t have dicks.

Empty Cold Tea: Upstairs, you’ve never had one in the first place.

Windy Love: How come none of the big players are out to share their thoughts? All the First Clears have been taken down by one club. What are y’all doing with your lives?”

Morning: Am I the only one who discovered Water Fairy’s name in the announcement? Are they dating?

Lazy Racoon: Why are they showing off their relationship with the world announcement?

Azure Sea Breeze: Thanks everyone, I accidentally took another First Clear. I keep getting First Clears… I wonder if I’d get beaten up if I left my door open.

Anonymous Convict: My, it’s Azure Sea Breeze, the number one main tank in Dawn. Hello. How are you, my idol?

Colour of Coke: Breezy is here, all hail Breezy. Breezy are you down for a date? I’m from Gangnam City as well. You can have my photos if you add me on your friend list.

Led by Wandering, a whole pack of players surrounded Azure Sea Breeze, kicking and hitting him. How dare he show off like that? Everyone was revived, and the System began to hand out the First Clear rewards. Everyone obtained their rewards but those that waited outside the dungeons weren’t so lucky. After the dungeon was completed, those that waited outside were rewarded with a lot of DKP instead. It was multiple times the DKP of the 40 players that were in the dungeon, which made up for their losses.

Lu Li obtained the Bloodfang Pants Mold. He checked the pants that he was currently wearing and shook his head with a bitter smile. It wasn’t that this equipment was bad, but if he was to use it, he would have to start collecting T2 equipment.

The Bloodfang set for Thieves was part of a T2 set, which was a whole entire grade better than Lu Li’s T1 set. T1.5 was the tier between T1 and T2 and was basically all looted from Zul’Gurub. Its attributes were slightly better than the T1 set but a little worse than the Bloodfang set. Some collected the T1.5 set from Zul’Gurub, while others just skipped it and went straight for the T2 set. Of course, only the top players considered this. Normal players didn’t have to think so much. They just wore whatever they could lay their hands on.

The others also got their own rewards. When the boss died, five players got skill points – not including Lu Li — and another two players got skill points as rewards. Lu Li couldn’t help but wipe his drool away. He wanted skill points as there were ways to get equipment, but skill points weren’t easy to come by. Now that everyone couldn’t level up anymore, it was even harder than ever to obtain skill points. He could honestly say that he would rather gain a skill point than a T2 equipment.

Water Fairy also obtained a T2 equipment, which was a pair of pants as well.

It looked like they would both be searching for the same set; they might even wear a couple set in the future. However, T2 equipment wasn’t easy to collect. The Molten Core only dropped the pants – the head was from Onyxia’s Lair, while the other parts were from Deathwings’ Lair.

Most of the rewards that players received were equipment. Lucky Lonesome Flower obtained an Empowerment skill book. This was a skill book to empower the Water Elemental skill. After the empowerment, the Water Elemental would improve in attack and defence, and would also have another extra skill. This would boost Lonesome Flower’s strength by quite a bit.

Between the Empowerment skill book and a part of the T2 set, which was more precious? The empowerment skill book.

You could tell from the drop rate. There were 40 players here, and about 30 of them were rewarded with equipment. Seven of the 30 were rewarded with T2 pants, but only Lonesome Flower obtained the Empowerment skill book.

Lu Li wiped his drool again. Damn it, he really wanted to know how to remove his unlucky curse.

Azure Sea Breeze sat there and laughed to himself. Lu Li found out that he had obtained the left face, which was the left part of Bindings of the Windseeker.

Last week, the duke didn’t give much to Lu Li and the others. They went back to the duke again this week, and the duke still wasn’t nice about the situation. Both times, the left face didn’t drop. Azure Sea Breeze thought that he wouldn’t be getting both sides of the face anytime soon, but who knew that he would get it now at this point.

Lu Li had drooled so much he felt thirsty.

He looked at everyone else in envy, then back at himself. He was ready to commit suicide.
