Chapter 630: Dull Dream

Lu Li wouldn’t be involved in this kind of battle; most professional players wouldn’t either.

In fact, as more players in Dawn turned pro, the difference between the two kinds of players widened.

As long as you didn’t kill other players too often, your identity could remain a secret. You just had to put on a mask and no one would know that you were a professional player, unless you deliberately made yourself stand out.

Lu Li was considered to be quite involved. He often chatted with other guild leaders and PVP enthusiasts.

Of course, he would wear rather average equipment. Otherwise, no one would want to talk to him.

With the exception of the Stranglethorn Vale, Scarab Shells were currently a hot topic. As long as you had money, you could use this item to farm experience. For a level 40 player, the amount required was too high, but for a level 37 player, it was not a problem.

At Lu Li’s current level, this kind of short-cut farming method was not a good thing.

Even so, he understood the design philosophy of the game. Dawn had to take care of the majority of its players. With the scarabs, the average players could catch up to the top players. If the gap between them just kept growing, it wouldn’t be fun to play.

Moreover, by selling these Scarab Shells, many poor people found a new way to survive in real life.

By farming and selling these shells for some money, many homeless people found a source of income and a glimmer of hope.

There were also players who couldn’t afford a helmet like Lu Li and had to borrow one, so these debts could be repaid with this income.

All of a sudden, almost everyone knew that you could make money in Dawn.

It was about mid-December and it was ten days away from Christmas. This festival had come from the west, but had been accepted by everyone.

It was freezing and the snow was quite thick this year. The air was fresh and clean as well. Ever since the relocation of the capital, environmental problems such as smog had been drastically improved over the last century. Many people believed that this city was being reborn and given a second chance.

After its status as the capital ended, most of the population migrated to the new capital. All the people left behind made the city a far more laid-back place.

There was a living room with a family of three watching television, completely absorbed by the story. The doorbell was ringing, but no one got up the answer the door. The mother’s eyes were stuck to the screen as she patted her daughter’s head and said, ”Dull Dream, go and open the door.”

”I don’t want to! I want to watch TV!” the girl protested as she moved away from the mum while holding onto her bunny doll.

”Husband, you go.”

Seeing that her daughter wouldn’t budge, she had no choice but to ask someone else. Her husband looked at her, and her hand stopped before she could touch him

The authority of successful people could be seen purely through their gaze. The mother weakly withdrew.

Although the father had looked at his wife like that, he still got up to answer the door.

There were two men standing at the door, dressed in formal attire and carrying briefcases. When they took off their coats, they revealed that they were wearing dress shoes and pants as well.

”What is it?” asked the head of the family. He thought that these were two sales men, and had no idea how they had made it past the front guard.

”Are you Mr Shen?” the two visitors asked after exchanging glances. It was as though they hadn’t come here together.

”That’s correct. I’m busy.”

The man in the blue coat knew that the husband was getting impatient and got straight to the point. ”Well, in fact, I have some looking for your daughter. I represent the Kirby Corporation and have come to invite her to endorse our products.”

”Kirby,” the father muttered with a nod; he was no stranger to the name.

”But why are you looking for my daughter?” he asked.

”I’m different from him. I’m a lawyer at the Starlight Law firm and my name is Zhang. Your daughter is a shareholder of Ruling Sword and there are some documents that need a guardian’s signature.”

They really hadn’t come together and just so happened to bump into each other.

”Dull Dream, you did this. Come over here,” the father said casually.

Dull Dream looked carefully at the visitors and wasn’t sure what kind of trouble she was in.

The two visitors introduced themselves and explained their intentions while producing many documents to convince them that they weren’t con-men.

This father finally realized that these were the kinds of things that her daughter got involved with in her game. Although he had heard her telling him about all these things, he had never taken her seriously.

Her nickname was even Dull Dream – who knew that she would do this kind of thing?

”Lawyer Zhang, who is your employer? Why is the name of the company so strange, and what is Ruling Sword…”

She hadn’t sold herself away had she?

Lawyer Zhang had been involved with many games and was an expert in the industry.

”We are a very famous guild within gaming circles. Dawn has held two professional competitions and we have taken first place and second place…” he responded with fervor.

”I’ve heard of Dawn before.”

The father’s work didn’t involve games, but he had heard about the hottest game of the time. He thought for a moment before asking, ”But I want to know how my daughter got this shareholding. This is no small amount of money.”

This was clearly some kind of business; how did this this 16 year old girl do it?

”Because…” Lawyer Zhang was a little sheepish and very envious. He glanced at the little girl before sighing, ”She is very lucky and met Lu Li right at the beginning of the game…”

Those who were familiar with Lu Li couldn’t stop talking about him. Lawyer Zhang talked about Lu Li’s legend with great enthusiasm.

The father and mother listened to the stories, which recounted that the little girl had found this great leader and had followed him through his ups and downs. This resulted in her receiving a portion of this emerging club.

”Oh, Dreamy, mum has underestimated you.”

The mother didn’t dare care her Dull Dream anymore.

These shares weren’t worth much now as this family was quite rich, but when they thought about their daughter and how they had been raising her for so many years, it felt like they barely even knew her.
