From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

The employees are particularly excited about moving to the new restaurant.

Indeed, who wouldn’t want to go to a better place?

Chengfeng Restaurant is not inferior to other restaurants in terms of cuisine, service, or the degree of patrons’ fondness; it’s just that the location was a bit lacking, and the restaurant was slightly smaller.

Even so, plenty of wealthy people still come to dine here in town.

Now with the location changed, and the place made more upscale, more people will come.

Everyone’s income will grow accordingly, why wouldn’t they be happy?

Mu Shuangshuang glanced at the group of people who came out, all were waiters and attendants, but she didn’t see Yu Dahai.

Even Wang Guilan, who returned ahead of her, along with Cheng Ying and Cheng Le, were not around.

”Wasn’t steward Yu with you? By the way, did any of you see Wang Guilan and Cheng Ying, Cheng Le, who came from the Northwest? I’ve asked them to find steward Yu!”

Mu Shuangshuang asked.

Waiter Ah Cai said, ”That Gui Lan you mentioned, steward Yu invited her over to take care of her little sister Xiuxiu. As for the two kids, they went along too. They said to wait until you returned before handling it!”

Mu Shuangshuang nodded her head and explained to the waiters, ”I’ll first go to find steward Yu to discuss matters! Don’t worry about the restaurant opening. I’ll come back on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month, and by then, we’ll handle those things!

Today’s return was rushed, and it’s getting late now. We can’t afford any delay, or it might get dark!”

The employees expressed their understanding, ”Go ahead! There’s nothing here, the owner needn’t worry!”

Mu Shuangshuang didn’t exchange further pleasantries, mounted the horse and carriage, and went to her small courtyard in the county.

Just as when she left, the small courtyard remains quiet, Mu Shuangshuang parked the carriage outside and took out things for Xiuxiu’s unborn child.

Only then did she knock on the door—

”Knock knock knock~”

Within just a few moments, a response came from inside.

”Who is it?”

It was Wang Guilan’s voice, a smile appeared on Mu Shuangshuang’s face.

As the door opened, she softly called: ”Aunt Gui Lan!”

”Miss Shuangshuang...” Wang Guilan’s eyes lit up, and a delighted smile appeared on her face.

”It’s me, I’m back!” Mu Shuangshuang replied.

”Come on, come inside quickly, I’ll make dinner for you, are you hungry?” Wang Guilan asked hastily.

Mu Shuangshuang’s heart warmed, when coming back to the county, it didn’t feel like home.

But coming here, a simple greeting from Wang Guilan made her feel at home.

”Thank you Aunt Gui Lan, I won’t eat, I’ve come to see you, Le’er, and Yingzi, and soon I’ll return home!

And steward Yu, if possible, I’d like to meet him too!”

Wang Guilan nodded her head, ”They’re all here!”

Following Wang Guilan, she entered her own small courtyard’s main room.

As she entered, a few people who were chatting inside all stood up.

”Shuangshuang~”

”Owner~”

”Sister Shuangshuang~”

Yu Dahai, Xiuxiu, and Cheng Ying, Cheng Le all stood up simultaneously and walked up to Mu Shuangshuang.

Just like Wang Guilan, they all had excited smiles on their faces.

”Did you return from the Northwest?” Yu Dahai asked.

”Yeah! I’ve been back for a few days, stayed in the county for a while, and thought I should return for the Lantern Festival tomorrow!” Mu Shuangshuang replied with a smile.

As she spoke, she handed the toys to Xiuxiu, ”I didn’t bring much back from the Northwest, left in a rush due to the war! These are toys for kids, bought in the county, I asked around, kids can play with them until they are three!”

Receiving the items Mu Shuangshuang gave, Xiuxiu looked delighted.

At this moment, Mu Shuangshuang took out two pre-prepared red envelopes from her sleeves.

”These are New Year’s money, one each for Yingzi and Le’er!” Mu Shuangshuang extended the red envelopes.

But Cheng Ying and Cheng Le refused to accept.

”Sister Shuangshuang, we don’t want the things, hurry and open the big restaurant, then we can come and help!” Cheng Le said.

”Silly kids, this is lucky money, who doesn’t accept lucky money?”

Saying this, she forced the red envelopes into their hands.

”Brother Yu, Aunt Gui Lan, Xiuxiu, I didn’t bring your gifts, but when the opening happens, I will have gifts ready for you!” Mu Shuangshuang said.

”Just having you here is enough, why talk about gifts?” Yu Dahai laughed.

”By the way, it’s getting late, why don’t you sleep here today? I have lots to talk to you about!” Xiuxiu eagerly suggested.

Mu Shuangshuang replied, ”I was just about to talk about this, I have to go back tonight, so we can’t talk as much as we’d like!

But I think you can come to my home for the Lantern Festival tomorrow, then we can also sort out the whole matter!”

”Alright! But we’ll have to bring the family along!” Yu Dahai said.

”Don’t worry about coming, just worry if you don’t come, if you do, I promise to prepare pork, mutton, and serve you well!” Mu Shuangshuang said with a wide smile.

Everyone burst into laughter.

Honestly, as soon as Shuangshuang returned, everyone’s spirits lifted.

They all felt like something good was about to happen!

”It’s not too early, I’ll go home tonight and talk to my parents, arrange the rooms, and welcome you tomorrow with the whole family, I guarantee a place to stay!” Mu Shuangshuang reassured with conviction.

”Alright! We’ll come early tomorrow!” Yu Dahai said.

Mu Shuangshuang once more embarked on the journey, but this time, she was truly going home.

The carriage traveled along the familiar mountain road, Mu Shuangshuang felt an immense joy within!

Clearly, it’s only been about a month, but she feels like she hasn’t been back in years.

As night drew closer, Mu Shuangshuang didn’t feel afraid.

Upon reaching the village, it was already dark, but fortunately, Mu Shuangshuang, familiar with the roads, knew the way back.

She drove the carriage to the fourth house of the Old Mu Family, only to find a change at home.

The former side door was small and rather casual, but now it’s replaced with a large door, and lanterns hung upon it.

”When did mom and dad learn to do these things?” Mu Shuangshuang couldn’t help but smile, but still jumped off the carriage to knock on the door.

After waiting for a while, no one came to open it.

Mu Shuangshuang was about to shout, but the door opened.

It was a stranger man, who looked at Mu Shuangshuang with suspicion.

”Who are you looking for?”

Mu Shuangshuang asked in return, ”Who are you? Why are you at my house?”

”Your house? What a joke, this is Mr. Ma’s residence, smarten up and leave quickly, or I won’t be kind to you!”

As soon as the man’s words fell, Mu Shuangshuang lashed him with a whip, and the man cried out.

He immediately yelled into the house, ”Someone’s causing trouble, come, someone...”

Before long, several strong men emerged, each looking fierce, glaring at Mu Shuangshuang.

”I thought who it was, turns out it’s a brat, what, trying to sneak into Ma Mansion at night?”
