From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chapter 1143: Chapter 1139: Something Fishy Going On (Third Update)

Mu Shuangshuang searched carefully for the person in her mind, but in the end, she had no impression at all!

She said, ”Maybe that person just saw our restaurant’s business model making money and wants to copy it.”

But even so, necessary caution cannot be neglected!

”Owner, don’t worry, whether they’re targeting us or not, I’ll keep an eye on them!” Yu Dahai looked at Mu Shuangshuang with a determined face.

”Alright! Then I’ll trouble you, Brother Dahai. Once this busy period is over, pick a time to take a few days off and spend time with your wife!”

Since the restaurant opened, Yu Dahai’s work in the middle was no less than Mu Shuangshuang’s.

She noticed this and the only thing she could do was to give Yu Dahai some extra vacation, plus raise his salary a bit more than before!

To make the horse run, you can’t not let the horse eat grass!

Being able to take a vacation was indeed a big happy event for Yu Dahai, his wife at home had been hoping for him to go back for a while.

The kids hadn’t seen their father for a long time either!

But considering Mu Shuangshuang’s current situation, Yu Dahai couldn’t help but ask, ”Owner, if I go, will it be too hard for you and the male owner?”

Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng were still living in the countryside, and the business at the town’s restaurant couldn’t be managed as closely as Yu Dahai’s was!

”It won’t be, just let me know in advance when you want to take a vacation!”

With Mu Shuangshuang’s words, Yu Dahai grinned ear to ear.

”Then I’ll take a vacation in three days, and rest at home for three days. During these three days, I’ll tell you all the things to be aware of at the restaurant?”

Yu Dahai was filled with enthusiasm, he probably couldn’t wait to go on vacation!

Mu Shuangshuang nodded, indicating her agreement.

Having talked for so long, it was time to take a look at the main hall now!

Mu Shuangshuang went downstairs a step ahead of Yu Dahai, and at that moment Lu Yuanfeng came out from the backyard to help greet the guests.

She also joined in, helping to wipe tables and clean up!

There wasn’t the slightest air of an owner, seeing Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng, the owners working personally, the staff became even more motivated!

After a while of busy work, it was time for the staff of the shop to eat.

Xing Beichen slipped in for an ’employee meal’, looking as if he had gained a huge benefit, grinning from ear to ear!

”Hey, why does it seem like someone is missing?” Mu Shuangshuang glanced at the people at the table and said!

”Boss, indeed someone is missing! It’s the assistant chef from the backyard, Mu Tou, I heard there’s something at home, so he took a leave!”

Huang Er, mouth stuffed with a cheek full of meat, answered Mu Shuangshuang’s question immediately after gulping down the meat.

Mu Shuangshuang glanced at Yu Dahai, and he added, ”Mu Tou asked me for leave, saying his old mother was sick, I even advanced him a month’s salary!”

Advancing wages was something unique to Mu Shuangshuang’s policy.

If any staff had family issues or urgently needed money, wages up to three months could be advanced with Yu Dahai’s consent.

If it was more than three months, either Mu Shuangshuang or Lu Yuanfeng had to agree!

Beside her, Huang Da hesitated, glancing at Mu Shuangshuang, and just as she thought he was going to say something, he ended up saying nothing!

Mu Shuangshuang didn’t say anything in front of everyone, but after the meal, she called for Huang Da.

They found a teahouse outside the restaurant, and chatted over tea.

Huang Er, who was somewhat oblivious, focused on drinking tea, eating snacks, and listening to tunes at the teahouse.

But Huang Da and Lu Yuanfeng both had solemn expressions on their faces!

Xing Beichen had an indifferent look, but it didn’t affect Mu Shuangshuang and Huang Er from discussing matters.

”Huang Da, during the meal, you glanced at me, was there something you wanted to tell me?” Mu Shuangshuang asked.

Huang Da nodded heavily.

”Yes, Shuangshuang, there were too many people earlier, I was afraid of saying something wrong and causing resentment!

Also, that Mu Tou has been with the restaurant for a long time, and several staff members have a good relationship with him, just in case...!”

Huang Da didn’t finish his sentence, but Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng understood!

”Huang Da, if there’s anything, feel free to tell us. Among us, there’s no need for any reservations!” Lu Yuanfeng’s words were powerful and immediately soothed Huang Da’s anxious heart.

”I also don’t know if I’m overthinking. A month ago, I heard Mu Tou saying something about getting rich and how no one would be able to suppress him in the future...”

Huang Da said this not to tattletale or to get someone punished by Mu Shuangshuang.

But because he had grown attached to Chengfeng Restaurant.

Both he and his younger brother Huang Er had come to regard the restaurant as their home.

Day in and day out, not only did they have work to do, but their wallets were also getting thicker.

Soon enough, they would even have money for a wedding!

”This matter is rather tricky to handle!” Mu Shuangshuang frowned.

”What’s so tricky? Just tell Fengzi and me where he lives, and we can go check his home to see.

Didn’t he say his old mother was sick? We can go take a look, see if she is sick, and investigate where he’s been recently, we’re bound to find some clues!” Xing Beichen chimed in.

”I know where Mu Tou’s house is, I can drop by anytime to take a look.” Lu Yuanfeng said.

Mu Shuangshuang nodded, ”In that case, I’ll leave it to you! If there’s an issue, don’t alert anyone unnecessarily. If there isn’t, you don’t need to mention it to anyone too!”

Ideally, if you employ someone, you don’t doubt them; if you doubt them, you don’t employ them!

But the incident with Sun Dawu back then made Mu Shuangshuang learn to be cautious.

Even people who initially seem kind could change their nature for some reason.

Having been fooled once, she wouldn’t be fooled a second time.

This was also why she preferred to entrust the signature dishes of her restaurant to Huang Er than to the main chef.

If the main chef learned her signature dishes, they could easily run away!

”Understood!” Lu Yuanfeng said.

—

Old Mu Family’s main room—

After sending off another group of relatives, Mr. Mu’s smile couldn’t fade.

Mu Dade, on the other hand, was much more composed.

Firstly, the so-called poor relatives brought things that were of no use.

Secondly, these people all had favors to ask of them.

Their gifts were insubstantial, but their requests were shameless.

They even wanted Mu Dade to arrange a position for their son in the county as a constable, as if the county were a marketplace.

Any common person could just walk in!

”My old man, today I truly realized our son has become something!”

Old Mrs. Mu, who had only been lying in bed for two days, was now up and about.

At this moment, Old Mrs. Mu had a large bandage wrapped around her forehead.

Because it was changed and washed daily, the bandage was clean.

The only problem was her head occasionally hurt, forcing Old Mrs. Mu to get a deck chair to lie down in the main room, listening to those from nearby villages showering the Old Mu Family with flattering words!
