These eight abilities of mine had successfully resonated with individual Ice Rule meanings out of the millions at the bifurcation point of the Ice Rule Source.

At first glance, it felt like an absolute no-brainer which three I should pick as my primary meanings to forge my Ice Rule Stream: Primordial Soul Pupils, Primordial Energy Manipulation, and Primordial Resonance. They felt like peas in a pod.

The Primordial Soul Pupils allowed me to see through not just regular soul pathways, but way deeper—straight back to the absolute roots of reality, the origin source responsible for everything in existence. The only real catch was that my mental strength wasn’t anywhere near strong enough yet to handle the overwhelming, maddening mysteries hidden within that primordial origin.

Then there was Primordial Energy Manipulation. This one gave me the baseline framework to manipulate primordial energy itself, along with every single sub-energy or power derived from it. However, actually doing it required raw knowledge and mental blueprints. It’s like how humans technically have the anatomical capability to swim across oceans or climb massive mountains, but you still have to figure out the exact techniques and put in the grueling practice to actually master the execution.

Finally, Primordial Resonance allowed me to actively harmonize with anything created by or derived from primordial energy—which conceptually meant basically everything in existence. My current limitation was purely a matter of raw strength and operational range; I simply didn’t have the capacity to resonate with the entire myriad realms all at once. But if I stayed in close proximity to an object or energy source or being long enough, I would inevitably lock onto its frequency.

And if I actively synchronized this with the insight from my Primordial Soul Pupils and the control of Primordial Energy Manipulation, the harmonization process would accelerate drastically. This was one of the main reasons why I believed that if I comprehend the ice rule meaning that resonated with these abilities I will be able easily clear the hurdle of forging a rule stream by fusing the three primary rule meanings comprehended.

On paper, this legendary primordial trio looked flawless. But as the Hive Spirit finished crunching the compatibility matrices, reality delivered a cold slap to my expectations.

The Hive AI also pointed out a glaring structural anomaly: these three primordial abilities were so deeply complementary that they logically should have fused into a single, unified power when I received the baptism from the origin source during my last major breakthrough. The very fact that they hadn’t merged into one massive, overpowered ability already proved something vital. While they were undoubtedly harmonious, they were still distinct enough at a fundamental level to maintain their individual identities within my roster.

However, there was an alternative theory worth noting. The cosmic baptism only possessed a finite amount of energy; it was entirely possible that the last breakthrough simply lacked the raw power required to force three abilities of this staggering magnitude to fuse into one. Furthermore, the compatibility numbers crunched by the Hive Spirit were drawn exclusively from the known ice rule meanings currently recorded within the Infinity Library. That meant its calculations were bound by available data—meaning they could be entirely correct, or they could be horribly, fundamentally wrong.

For the first time in a long while, I found myself completely stuck.

Left with no clear path forward, I turned my attention toward the divinity-type Ruler-class curses I had meticulously incorporated into my arsenal of 1,024 curses. I had explicitly collected these specialized hexes for situations just like this, though usually for far more dire, life-threatening scenarios.

Specifically, I summoned the power of the Ruler-Class Curse: Causality Certainty.

This particular curse possessed a fascinating utility: it allowed me to peek down the threads of fate to see if a specific action would successfully achieve the goal I had in mind. It was highly practical; if I were leaving the house just to grab groceries, the curse could instantly tell me whether or not I would actually succeed in bringing all those groceries home or not.

By weaponizing a systematic method of trial and error alongside this Ruler-Class curse, I could completely bypass the limitations of the Hive Spirit’s calculations. I could test combinations one by one, allowing the raw feedback of causality to pinpoint the exact three primary ice rule meanings that divination decreed would help me forge my Ice Rule Stream as fast as humanly possible.

If it had been back in my past life, I probably would have called myself crazy for even thinking of depending on causality and divination to make my decisions for me. But considering everything I had seen, done, and survived since then, I wasn’t about to close myself off from trying it.

To me, it was just another thing I am yet to explain

At the end of the day, the ultimate decision of which three rule meanings I chose to comprehend rested entirely with me, and me alone. It wasn’t up to some pre-destined fate or the whims of a higher power.

That was exactly what I hated about that whole pre-destined fate and higher-power bullshit—it completely ripped accountability out of the picture. The moment things go sideways, people immediately start blaming their tragic destiny or some unseen higher power for their shortcomings and failures, using it as a shield instead of getting off their ass and actually becoming the change they want to see.

I wasn’t looking for a divine script to follow; I was looking for data. The Causality Certainty Curse wasn’t going to choose my path for me—it was just going to tell me the real-time consequences of my own choices.

With my mindset locked in and the Hive Spirit standing by to log the feedback, I braced my soul, tapped into the dark, weaving threads of the Causality Certainty Curse, and prepared to run the first combination.
