Chapter 2942: Violated Veerott

”Something’s not right. Veerott is many things, but he isn’t a bad shot.”

Aqualas muttered to herself as she focused on the battle. From a distance, it looked as though Veerott was steadily gaining momentum. Southern Hope appeared to be retreating under the relentless barrage, constantly moving to avoid attacks while Veerott pressed forward.

Yet the more she observed, the stranger the fight became. Unlike Seraphina else present, Aqualas didn’t rely solely on sight. She focused on the water within both combatants’ bodies.

Catching every movement, shift in balance, and subtle change in posture. The longer she watched, the more convinced she became that something was wrong.

”What do you mean?”

Seraphina asked half-heartedly.

Most of her attention remained on the thousand curse fields surrounding them. She was still desperately searching for a weakness, hoping to escape before Veerott was forced to become their enemy’s subordinate to save them.

”Look closely,” Aqualas said. Seraphina reluctantly turned her attention back to the duel. Aqualas pointed toward Veerott. ”I think Veerott’s senses are being manipulated by Wyatt’s curse field.”

Seraphina’s eyes narrowed. After a brief pause, Aqualas added, ”He’s basically punching empty air, and Wyatt is just dancing around him. For a genius, he dances like a swaying tree.”

Seraphina almost rolled her eyes at the comparison. Then she looked more carefully. At first, everything seemed normal. Veerott attacked, Southern Hope evaded. Nothing unusual. But once she stopped focusing on the attacks themselves and started paying attention to the trajectories, she noticed it.

Southern Hope wasn’t evading by a hair’s breath, but Veerott was missing by far more than an inch. Some strikes weren’t even remotely close. Southern Hope’s movements only made them appear close. In reality, Veerott was often attacking empty space while Southern Hope conveniently moved nearby to maintain the illusion.

”Now that I look at it... you’re right.” Seraphina’s expression immediately changed. ”We need to warn him.”

She took a step forward. If Veerott realized his senses were being manipulated, he could at least attempt to compensate for it. Perhaps he still had a chance. Unfortunately, The moment Seraphina opened her mouth, the Southern Hope suddenly stopped pretending.

The exaggerated dodges vanished. The unnecessary movements disappeared. The swaying motions that made it seem as though he was narrowly evading attacks came to an abrupt end.

For the first time during the exchange, he stood completely still. Meanwhile, Veerott continued unleashing a furious barrage of attacks. None of them came close to hitting their target.

Before Seraphina could get a word out, Southern Hope made his move. Both of his arms suddenly morphed.

His fingers elongated, his arms split apart along his fingers, and transformed into five writhing tentacles. Five tentacles replaced each of my arms, twisting through the air like living whips.

Veerott immediately sensed danger and tried to retreat, but his distorted senses betrayed him once again.

The tentacles slipped past the concentrated soul-energy spheres serving as his replacement fists and coiled around his arms from elbow to shoulder.

”Get off me!” Veerott roared as he tried to tear them away.

His muscles bulged as he applied all his might, yet before he could free himself, a strange fluid began leaking from the tentacles. The fluid spread rapidly across his skin. Especially by his shoulder joints.

Then the connection between flesh and flesh simply... failed. With a wet tearing sound, both of Veerott’s remaining arms detached from his body. Just like how I had detached his fists from his wrists earlier.

For a brief moment, complete silence descended over the battlefield. Veerott stared at the empty sockets where his arms had been. His expression was one of pure disbelief.

He had heard of warriors disarming their opponents. He had even seen enemies destroy weapons during battle. But here his opponent was taking body parts, dismantling his limbs.

While Veerott was still processing what had happened, I casually stored the detached arms inside the same storage card containing his hands.

The next instant, with a sonic boom erupted in my wake, I appeared directly in front of Veerott.

Instinct took over what remind of his body. Losing both of his arms, Veerott lashed out with a kick aimed at my temple.

Unfortunately, that was exactly what I had expected. One of my tentacles shot forward and wrapped itself around the incoming leg. The remaining tentacles followed immediately, coiling around Veerott’s thigh and hip like constricting serpents.

The same fluid appeared once more. Veerott’s eyes widened and cried out, ”Wait!”

Too late. The connection between his leg and pelvis dissolved. His right leg detached completely. At nearly the same moment, the tentacles from my other arm wrapped around Veerott’s remaining leg. A second later, it too separated from his body.

The world’s strongest being was left suspended in midair with no arms, no legs, only his torso and head remaining. The battlefield fell eerily quiet.

Even Aqualas and Seraphina could only stare. The sequence had happened so quickly that neither had time to react.

I calmly, one by one, summoned Veerott’s detached limbs that I had stored away in a storage card. As the pair of hands, forearms, and the legs emerged, they floated around me under the control of celestial force. Then, to Veerott’s immense horror, I began casually juggling them. Simultaneously, I looked directly at Veerott and calmly asked, ”Now, do you surrender?”

For the first time since their duel began, even the unstoppable Veerott struggled to find an answer. If not for his innate Viltronian flight, he would have been forced to rely on his enemy’s mercy just to stay airborne and avoid crashing into the jagged ground below. While the fall itself wouldn’t kill a warrior of his caliber, the sheer embarrassment of it would be staggering—though, at this point, he might as well erase that word from his vocabulary entirely. He couldn’t even bring himself to look his opponent or his watching friends in the eye. He felt completely violated by this one-sided defeat.
