Chapter 1431: Chapter 17: Temple

The reason Lin Feng is confident in dealing with Emperor Jun is not without cause.

He has now begun ordering the construction of temples in his various territories.

Lin Feng is currently in control of forty-nine ancient cities.

And beneath each ancient city, there are countless kingdoms.

Each ancient city rules over hundreds or even thousands of kingdoms.

In these kingdoms, how many temples can be built?

...

Soon, the news of Lin Feng’s grand construction of temples in his domain spread rapidly across the Exile Great World.

”What? That Lin Feng is engaged in grand construction? Building temples for himself? Is this person so vainglorious?”

Many domain masters slightly frowned upon hearing this.

These domain masters were waiting to watch the life-and-death struggle between Lin Feng and Emperor Jun, anticipating that when both parties suffered, they would claim a share of the Heaven State Domain.

Now, things have changed.

Emperor Jun has returned to Heaven State City and remains inactive, plotting something unknown.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng has indulged in grand construction, building temples for himself, as if he has lost interest in fighting Emperor Jun.

”How shameless is this kid? Temples are built by the common people out of gratitude to the gods, and now this kid is building so many temples for himself, not only for grandeur but also deceiving the world. Once the temples are complete, he will probably start praising his own virtues, deceiving people to the temples for sacrifice and blessings, won’t he?”

Many domain masters shook their heads.

Indeed, it wasn’t long before these domain masters received new information.

Someone brought the praise-filled proclamation about Lin Feng for the domain masters to see.

”Pangu opened up heaven and earth, Nuwa created all spirits, the Ancient Saint Emperor created civilization, and enlightened all. Now, there is a great mighty and virtuous True Monarch of All Living Beings, the incarnation of Heavenly Dao, named Lin Feng, mastering the Tao of All Heavens, illuminating the world. The great mighty and virtuous True Monarch of All Living Beings cherishes all living beings, and if any are afflicted by hunger, cold, poverty, suffering, illness, and other reasons, they can go to the temple, burn incense and sacrifice, pray sincerely, and if they are sincere, miracles will occur...”

”Shameless! Truly shameless, daring to compare himself to Pangu, Nuwa, and the Ancient Saint Emperor. How can this world have someone so shameless? Just reading this proclamation makes me blush.”

When some domain masters saw the praise-filled proclamation for Lin Feng, they couldn’t bear to read more than a tenth of it before cursing Lin Feng for his thick skin and shamelessness.

”Sir, it seems that Lin Feng doesn’t want to fight Emperor Jun anymore. What should we do now?” Many subordinates of the domain masters raised similar questions.

”Hmph... If they don’t continue fighting, how can we plunder the resources of the Heaven State Domain? We must ensure they fight to the death, both suffering severe losses. However, this cannot be rushed. Emperor Jun is a cautious person, and Lin Feng is vainglorious. I believe we can send someone to fan the flames with Lin Feng. If he wants to build temples, let him expand his territory so that more temples can be established.”

Some domain masters sneered as they spoke.

...

”Damn... who wrote this proclamation? Damn it, it’s so sickly sweet, equating me with Pangu, Nuwa... but the writing is pretty good.” Lin Feng forced himself to finish reading the contents of the proclamation.

However, the feeling of being flattered was quite satisfying.

”Master, City Lord Wenren requests an audience.” The maid arrived at Lin Feng’s residence.

Lin Feng has now moved into a new courtyard, with many servants and maids, mainly because there are more affairs to handle now, with people coming and going, making servants necessary.

”Let her in.” Lin Feng said.

Soon after, Wenren Muyue arrived at Lin Feng’s place.

She said unpleasantly, ”Now every one of the forty-nine ancient cities, and the kingdoms under their rule, are engaging in grand construction, building your temples. Many are saying you’re vainglorious, rumors are spreading. I don’t understand why you want to build so many temples?”

Lin Feng smiled slightly and said, ”The establishment of temples is not without reason, do you know what faith means?”

”Cultivators do not speak of faith, only of interests.” Wenren Muyue said.

”Yes, you are right, but not all cultivators lack faith. In this world, some people lack faith, which is like lacking motivation in life. Establishing temples is to give them faith.” Lin Feng said.

”Faith in you? Is that the so-called faith?” Wenren Muyue frowned.

”That’s right, faith in me...” Lin Feng’s eyes were deep, ”The kingdoms beneath forty-nine ancient cities number nearly 40,000, with their populations in the trillions. How many of them are cultivators? Probably not even one in ten million. What does this indicate? This indicates there are too many ordinary people. In such a harsh environment as the Exile Great World, ordinary people can’t even eat. Do you know? Now, I will establish temples to give them faith, and then miracles will occur. Ordinary people will have food, and if they fall ill, someone will heal them. They will have faith and hope to survive. Do you think I’m vainglorious for this?”

”I didn’t expect that your establishment of temples was for those impoverished ordinary people. I misunderstood you. I apologize to you.” Wenren Muyue immediately felt a bit embarrassed, thinking she should not have misunderstood Lin Feng’s good intentions.

Lin Feng smiled and said, ”Many people misunderstand me now. When the temples are built, and miracles happen, when the common folk have food, aren’t starved, aren’t eaten by fierce beasts, and can live and work in peace, everyone will understand my painstaking efforts.”

Wenren Muyue nodded earnestly and said, ”I believe people will definitely understand you, and then they will admire you even more.”

Lin Feng chuckled and said, ”I’m not doing these things to make people worship me but to earnestly do some factual work that can truly help those common people.”

Pausing for a moment, Lin Feng asked, ”How are things going with your family?”

”Someone will come secretly to see you soon.” Wenren Muyue said.

”Hmm!” Lin Feng nodded.

Wenren Muyue didn’t stay long at Lin Feng’s place, and then she took her leave.

Within the region under Lin Feng’s control, temples began to be gradually completed.

Then, in various places, golden body divine statues of Lin Feng were sculpted.

Along with continuous propaganda and endless praise, many people from mortal kingdoms flocked into the temples, beginning to pray and make wishes.

At night, Lin Feng began practicing the ”Supreme Infinite Returning to Origin Divine Skill” obtained from the Demon Monarch.

This supreme skill can help Lin Feng swallow the power of faith.

”Pray to the great mighty and virtuous True Monarch of All Living Beings, grant us favorable weather this year, so we may have a good harvest.”

”Great mighty and virtuous True Monarch of All Living Beings, our town was attacked by monsters, many people were killed. Now we are displaced, becoming refugees, and many are starving. Please, True Monarch, manifest, help us kill those monsters, and reclaim our homeland.”

When Lin Feng circulated the Supreme Infinite Returning to Origin Divine Skill through thirty-six Grand Circulations,

suddenly, an endless number of voices resounded in Lin Feng’s mind.

These voices were from the common people praying in temples.
