Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

In front of the Azure Cloud Sect’s gate, people were coming and going, creating a bustling scene.

A registration area was set up here, with many people queuing up. Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao were standing in the line.

The Azure Cloud Sect wasn’t as meticulous as the Star Cloud Pavilion in dividing queuing cultivators—it felt somewhat less like they were ranking the cultivators into different classes, which was quite uncomfortable.

“Ahem, elder, how old are you? Still coming to register at our Azure Cloud Sect?”

…

One of the officials in charge of enumerating the names looked at the old fellow before him, speechless.

“Eighteen,” the old fellow declared shamelessly.

Many people rolled their eyes.

Unashamed and unperturbed, the old fellow said, “Your Azure Cloud Sect doesn’t have an age limit, right?”

“This…” The official responsible for counting was somewhat troubled.

The Azure Cloud Sect indeed hadn’t set an age limit.

Even without an age limit, most people had the self-awareness not to come to register if they were too old, as they would likely be dismissed.

But here was this old man, with one foot in the grave, shamelessly coming to sign up—it was quite speechless indeed.

Helpless, the official queried, “Your age…”

“Zhou Xiaoshuai,” the old fellow said.

Hearing this name, the official’s mouth twitched again, and he said, “I asked for your age, not your name. Just answer honestly—how old are you?”

“Eighteen,” Zhou Xiaoshuai said.

“Alright, alright, eighteen it is then. Where’s your introduction letter?” the official asked.

“Right here,” replied the old fellow, handing over the introduction letter.

The official glanced at it, nodded, and said, “Alright, go rest over there for now; someone will guide you to a resting place shortly.”

The old fellow then tottered off to the side, looking like a gust of wind might knock him to the ground.

Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao also managed to register without issues.

“It’s, it’s him, that grandson.” Tian Zhongdao spotted “Yvv Zige” and was so angry that he gritted his teeth, looking like he wanted to pounce on Yvv Zige and take out his frustration but Lin Feng held him back.

“This isn’t a place for causing trouble. Making a scene here might get your eligibility for the test cancelled,” Lin Feng said.

Tian Zhongdao nodded in agreement.

From afar, Yvv Zige also saw Tian Zhongdao and walked over, sneering at him, “Stutterer, you want to join the Azure Cloud Sect too? If I were you, I’d get as far away as possible, right now. If you join the Azure Cloud Sect, I have a hundred ways to make you wish you were dead.”

“Who, who’s afraid of who?” Tian Zhongdao sneered back at Yvv Zige.

Yvv Zige spat out a mouthful of saliva, turned to Lin Feng, and said, “Kid, I advise you to stay away from this one. Otherwise, you might get yourself into trouble. Some people aren’t the kind you can afford to mess with.”

Lin Feng spoke indifferently, “I’ll take no worries, as the sect should be a place of peaceful coexistence. Surely no one will be coming to cause trouble, right?”

Stubbornly holding onto one’s course, one only walks a path to death,” Yvv Zige sneered arrogantly and strutted away.

Unlike Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao, this guy had backers in the Azure Cloud Sect.

Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao were grouped together, waiting for the registration to end.

“Brothers, would you like to join me for a drink?” the old fellow approached Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao.

“Let’s, let’s drink right here,” Tian Zhongdao said, currently feeling downcast. A drink was just what he needed to drown his sorrows.

“That’s the spirit,” the old fellow seemed very excited.

The three of them drank into the night, and Lin Feng had already passed out, completely drunk.

The old fellow and Tian Zhongdao leaned on each other, each holding a jar of wine, guzzling away; it was not long before Tian Zhongdao also collapsed.

The old fellow exclaimed, “This tolerance is just too poor.”

The old fellow then single-handedly polished off ten more jars of wine, truly a hardcore drinker, before finally falling to the ground and falling fast asleep with a snore.

Ten days later, registration ended, and that afternoon, Azure Cloud Sect gathered all the cultivators who had come to sign up in a square, a densely packed crowd of no less than a hundred thousand people.

A dozen or so cultivators flew out from the depths of the mountains and landed on the platform in the square, led by an elderly figure.

This was clearly a powerful being from the Yin Yang Realm.

The elder said, “Ladies and gentlemen, I am Niee Yidao, the Great Elder of the Assessment Hall of the Azure Cloud Sect. I will be overseeing this assessment. You all come from the various Great Forces friendly to our Azure Cloud Sect, and you should know that joining the Azure Cloud Sect is not an easy matter. This time, the Azure Cloud Sect will be recruiting a thousand disciples.”

“Boom.”

As the elder’s voice faded, the entire square erupted as if a pot had been knocked over.

Out of the hundred thousand cultivators that had come for the assessment, only a thousand would be recruited, making the odds astonishingly low.

Many people became anxious, realizing that standing out among a hundred thousand was no easy task.

“Quiet!”

Niee Yidao’s voice projected, and the previously uproarious square instantly quieted down.

“Tomorrow, some people will take you to the trial grounds. This assessment will last for ten days. Within the trial grounds, there are a thousand assessment tokens. As long as you manage to obtain an assessment token and successfully bring it out after the assessment ends, you will be considered to have passed,” said Niee Yidao.

“That’s, that’s, that’s too harsh. Out of, out of, out of tens of, tens of, tens of thousands of people, to fight, fight, fight for one thousand, one thousand spots, there will, there will definitely be a bloody storm,” Tian Zhongdao said.

Lin Feng nodded; however, he knew that joining a Great Sect was indeed no simple matter.

The Azure Cloud Sect’s method was understandable.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you may disperse now. Gather here again before noon tomorrow, and then officers of the Azure Cloud Sect will take you to the assessment location,” Niee Yidao and the others then left.

Many cultivators dispersed as well.

The next day, the cultivators participating in the test gathered again in the square.

Officers from the Azure Cloud Sect led everyone to the forest in the northwest direction of the sect; a vast range of mountains surrounded by arrays.

“Activate the Array,” a deep voice commanded.

A Spirit Array Master activated the great Array.

Hum…

A gigantic Golden Light Shield appeared, enveloping the vast mountain range within it.

“Now you may enter,” an officer shouted loudly.

Swish, swish, swish…

Many disciples rushed towards the Array, their bodies instantly swallowed by the golden light, vanishing from everyone’s sight.

“Let’s go!”

Lin Feng and Tian Zhongdao exchanged a glance, then too charged towards the golden shield.

As Lin Feng’s body touched the Golden Light Shield, he felt a powerful force envelope him, pulling him into another realm of Heaven and Earth, vanishing from the forest in an instant.
