Chapter 430: Chapter 16: Yu Ji’s Anger

In the great hall of the Main Peak, the upper echelon of the Qingyang Sect was being interrogated by representatives of the Martial Soul Hall.

Off to the side, a masked woman sat in a chair with her eyes closed, resting, while the Sect Master of Qingyang Sect, Xuu Moya, was speaking with Elder Yan.

...

”I have an urgent matter and must see the Sect Master,”

At that moment, the voice of Fan Qiangfu came from outside.

”The Sect Master is currently with an important person from Martial Soul Hall, all other matters must wait,” an outer disciple said in a deep voice from outside.

”It really is urgent,” Fan Qiangfu said somewhat anxiously.

He felt that the incident involving Xue Zhenghao and Zi Ling’er would definitely cause a great scandal.

”Bring in the person from outside,” the masked woman, known as Yu Ji, who had until now remained silent, finally spoke up.

Although Xuu Moya had no knowledge of Yu Ji’s identity, he knew that she must be a very significant figure and certainly someone their Qingyang Sect could not afford to offend.

This was especially true because the Hall Master of Martial Soul Hall in the Divine Land of East County, Yan Qingdu, showed great respect to the masked woman.

”Great Elder, you go and bring the person in,” Xuu Moya commanded.

”Yes, Sect Master,”

An elderly man responded and went out, and soon brought the trembling Fan Qiangfu inside. It was Fan Qiangfu’s first time facing so many important figures, and he couldn’t help feeling nervous.

”Why the commotion outside?” The Great Elder asked in a stern voice.

Fan Qiangfu knelt to the ground with a thud and said, ”It’s like this, I encountered a dignitary from Martial Soul Hall, and that person asked me to take him to find Zi Ling’er...”

At this point, the Great Elder’s face subtly changed.

How could someone from Martial Soul Hall know Zi Ling’er?

Zi Ling’er was the one whom the Great Elder had decided to bestow upon Xue Zhenghao, and the previous incident where Xue Zhenghao almost defiled Zi Ling’er had stirred up some controversy within the Qingyang Sect.

If Zi Ling’er had been an adult woman and had been given to Xue Zhenghao, that sort of incident wouldn’t have been too serious, but Zi Ling’er had been only eleven years old when she was granted to Xue Zhenghao. His intent to defile her was naturally scandalous and utterly immoral, which profoundly angered some of the elders. The Great Elder himself had helped to quell the matter, but now that Zi Ling’er was entangled with an important figure from Martial Soul Hall, he suddenly had a bad feeling.

”Zi Ling’er? Is she the sister of Zixiao?” Xuu Moya frowned slightly.

Fan Qiangfu hastily nodded and said, ”Yes, she is the sister of Zixiao. After Zixiao’s death, Zi Ling’er was given to Xue Zhenghao, and Xue Zhenghao, that Xue Zhenghao...”

”Speak up, don’t be hesitant. Is there something that can’t be said? If this matter poses a threat to you, when we leave, you may come with us to Martial Soul Hall. Working there as a menial worker, you may eventually become a disciple if you achieve something noteworthy in the future,”

Elder Yan suddenly interjected.

”Ah...” Fan Qiangfu felt as if he was struck by a stroke of unexpected joy, the opportunity to become a menial worker at Martial Soul Hall.

The status of a menial worker in Martial Soul Hall was far superior to that of a core disciple in Qingyang Sect, and most crucially, a menial worker in Martial Soul Hall also had the chance to advance to a formal disciple in the future.

With no worry for the consequences, Fan Qiangfu’s boldness surged as he said, ”Zixiao was originally a Core Disciple of Qingyang Sect, who had an orphaned sister he took care for. However, Zixiao died outside a year ago, leaving his sister alone and helpless. There was a disciple named Xue Zhenghao in the sect, a distant relative of the Great Elder...and Xue Zhenghao had some grievances with Zixiao. Not long after Zixiao’s death, Xue Zhenghao was promoted to a Core Disciple and then he asked the sect to bestow Zi Ling’er upon him. The Great Elder did indeed give Zi Ling’er to Xue Zhenghao. At that time, Zi Ling’er was only eleven years old, but Xue Zhenghao, in the dead of night, attempted to defile her. However, they were discovered by several patrolling senior brothers, and thus, Zi Ling’er was spared from disaster.”

”How heinous to not spare even an eleven-year-old girl, it is utterly unconscionable,” someone exclaimed.

Yu Ji, a woman herself, was already livid upon hearing all this, her pretty face turning the color of iron. She raised her right hand and slammed it down on the table. With a loud bang, the table shattered into pieces.

The Great Elder, who was sitting nearby, had a grim look on his face. He hastily said, ”My lord, do not listen to this disciple’s nonsense. Our Qingyang Sect is a noble and upstanding sect; how could we have such a disciple? I’m certain this person here is a spy from the Demon Dao who has infiltrated our Qingyang Sect, aiming to tarnish our reputation before you, my lord. Perhaps we should take him down for a thorough interrogation.”

”Please save me, my lord, I have told nothing but the truth,” begged Fan Qiangfu urgently.

”How dare you spout nonsense in front of a superior, you’re seeking death.” The Great Elder reached out and grabbed Fan Qiangfu directly.

”How presumptuous...”

Yu Ji suddenly let out a cold shout, and the Great Elder was struck as if hit by lightning; he stumbled backward five or six steps, knocking over several chairs before coming to a stop, his face turning pale.

”Does this seat’s action require your intervention?” Yu Ji’s eyes flashed with a cold light.

Xuu Moya was also breaking out in cold sweat. He quickly said, ”My lord, please do not be angry. We cannot afford the cost of your good health being compromised. If such scum truly exists in our Qingyang Sect, we will absolutely not tolerate it and will have them executed to maintain the clarity and brightness of our sect.”

Yu Ji, however, did not spare Xuu Moya a glance but instead looked at Fan Qiangfu and asked, ”Are you certain that the person looking for Zi Ling’er is from my Martial Soul Hall?”

This question was because all the members of the Martial Soul Hall were waiting outside, and without orders from high command, how could they act rashly?

”Yes... that person took out a token for Core Disciples of the Martial Soul Hall! I saw it clearly, there was no mistake,” Fan Qiangfu hastily replied.

”It’s him.” An image of a young man suddenly appeared in Yu Ji’s mind.

Elder Yan also seemed to have the same thought as Yu Ji and looked at Fan Qiangfu, saying, ”Take us to see for ourselves, for we would like to witness just how corrupt the Qingyang Sect really is.”

”Yes, yes, my lord, please follow me.” Fan Qiangfu quickly got up and walked outside.

Xuu Moya’s face looked extremely uncomfortable, while the Great Elder’s was deathly pale. They could only pray that nothing had happened to Zi Ling’er, otherwise, they would have no way to defend themselves. Xuu Moya gave the Great Elder a fierce glare, then followed Yu Ji and the others toward the outside.

...

At the Outer Disciples’ peak, behind the mountain...

Lan Tian’er led Xue Zhenghao to this place, dragging Li Qingxuan along the way.

Several female disciples followed them as well.

By now, Xue Zhenghao’s mind was consumed with thoughts of how he would abuse Zi Ling’er after finding her, his face sporting lascivious smirks.

Finally, the group arrived at a canyon at the back of the mountain. At the border of the canyon, there was a tiny cave just big enough for a person to curl up inside.

Lan Tian’er pointed to the cave, saying excitedly, ”Senior Brother, look, Zi Ling’er is hiding right inside there.”

Xue Zhenghao looked over and indeed saw a girl curled up inside the cave, her body shivering incessantly, seemingly very helpless. The girl was none other than Zi Ling’er, hiding there.

”Finally found you.” The corners of Xue Zhenghao’s mouth curled into a sinister smile.
