Chapter 165: Chapter 54: End of the Newcomer Assessment

“He’s defeated, even Huangfuyu has been defeated!”

Inside the great hall, Helian Changlong watched the scene in the bronze mirror and couldn’t help but exclaim in disbelief.

Lin Feng had successively defeated Wei Li, Song Zhan Yuan, and Yuwen Chenxing, which was already astonishing, but now, even Huangfuyu, who was ranked twenty-seventh on the Mountain River List, had been defeated, and this was just too terrifying.

Prefecture Master Ouyang Zhentian also took a deep breath and said, “I truly didn’t anticipate that such a prodigy would emerge among this year’s new students.”

“Indeed, too powerful. Even Huangfuyu is no match for him. Given time, this lad will definitely break into the top ten of the Mountain River List,” declared Helian Changlong.

“It’s even possible for the top five!” Ouyang Zhentian added.

...

……

“The captain has actually been defeated.”

All the senior students muttered in disbelief.

They were well aware of Huangfuyu’s strength, precisely because they knew just how formidable Huangfuyu was.

At this moment, seeing Huangfuyu defeated by Lin Feng, they felt true shock and even found it hard to believe what they were seeing.

“This guy has actually defeated Huangfuyu.” Xuanyuan Zhan wiped the fresh blood from the corner of his mouth.

In the just-concluded challenge against the senior students, he and another freshman couldn’t withstand the senior’s thunderous offensive and were also defeated.

Then, that heart-shaking moment occurred.

Huangfuyu had been defeated by Lin Feng.

“Who else?”

Lin Feng’s icy gaze swept over the remaining ten senior students.

These ten senior students were all powerhouses on the Mountain River List.

At this moment, none of them dared to step forward again.

“We have lost this battle; here is the Senior Student Token.” Huangfuyu struggled to stand up and tossed his token to Lin Feng.

“Thank you.” Lin Feng gave a fist salute.

“This is the spoils you rightfully earned,” Huangfuyu said with a complex expression.

Prior to this, Huangfuyu would never have believed he’d lose to a freshman.

“Here are the Senior Student Tokens.” The other senior students also took out their tokens.

“Let’s go.” Huangfuyu led the others away.

“My God, this Lin Feng is really too terrifying, even Huangfuyu is no match.”

“Huangfuyu’s defeat will surely cause a sensation throughout Azure Dragon Academy.”

Everyone, whether senior students or freshmen, was all talking at once.

…

Three hours later, Huangfuyu and the others walked out of Wolong Ridge.

“My God, is that Huangfuyu?”

“Huangfuyu and the others came out too? Could it be that they’ve also been defeated?”

“How is this possible? Huangfuyu is a formidable presence ranked twenty-seventh on the Mountain River List. How could he possibly lose to a freshman?”

Whether students or teachers, or even the elders and deacons of Azure Dragon Academy, were all abuzz with speculation, looking incredulously at Huangfuyu as he walked out step by step.

Even if they couldn’t accept it,

this was the fact.

Huangfuyu and the others walked out of the Ancient Forest of Assessment for no other reason than defeat.

Swoosh, swoosh…

Two figures approached from a distance.

It was Ouyang Zhentian, the Prefecture Master of Azure Dragon Academy, and Helian Changlong, the deputy dean of the Genius Camp.

“Greetings, Prefecture Master,” everyone bowed to Ouyang Zhentian.

“No need for formalities,” Ouyang Zhentian waved his hand.

“Greetings, Prefecture Master!” Huangfuyu and the others stepped forward to bow.

“I am already aware of what happened in the Ancient Forest. You all go back and rest,” Ouyang Zhentian said.

“Yes, we, your disciples, shall take our leave!” Huangfuyu and the others departed.

Meanwhile, Ouyang Zhentian closed his eyes to rest.

Many people were shocked; this assessment must have revealed an unparalleled genius, otherwise, why would the Prefecture Master come personally?

An elder asked, “Huangfuyu, who was responsible?”

Huangfuyu took a deep breath and replied, “Lin Feng!”

With that, he and the crowd of people in the team left.

“Hiss…”

And the scene was filled with a chorus of sharp intakes of breath.

“Lin Feng, it’s Lin Feng again. Just how terrifying is this Lin Feng? Even Huangfuyu is not his match!”

Many exclaimed in shock.

The name Lin Feng shook the heart of everyone, time and time again.

The assessment for newcomers hadn’t even ended yet, but the name Lin Feng had already spread throughout the whole Azure Dragon Academy.

“Have you heard? Even Huangfuyu was defeated?”

“What? Huangfuyu defeated? How is it possible? Is there a newcomer who can defeat Huangfuyu?”

“It’s that Lin Feng who consecutively defeated Wei Li, Song Zhan Yuan, Yuwen Chenxing, and now he has defeated Huangfuyu.”

“My God, how terrifying is this Lin Feng? A mere newcomer, and yet he has defeated Huangfuyu, ranked twenty-seventh on the Mountain River List. How formidable must his cultivation be?”

“Haha, there’s going to be a great show when the Mountain River List is re-ranked next year. I think that Lin Feng will certainly make it into the top ranks. It only remains to be seen who he’ll push down. Those perverts in the top ranks of the Mountain River List will probably be quite frustrated. To think that such a powerful newcomer has emerged in Azure Dragon Academy.”

…

All over Azure Dragon Academy, from the Outer Court to the Genius Camp, even in the dining hall, the dormitories, and in every corner of the campus, whether it’s the students, or the teachers, administrators, elders, and so on, everyone was discussing Lin Feng’s defeat of Huangfuyu.

Even the academy’s kitchens were abuzz with this topic.

While sneaking some food in the kitchen, the Fire Kirin heard the cooks’ conversation, leapt up, and mumbled, “This guy is so fierce. I heard that Huangfuyu was a Martial Master of the Tenth Level, and yet he was beaten by this kid. It seems this kid’s cultivation must have soared.”

After muttering to itself, the Fire Kirin continued to crouch on the ground, ravenously gnawing on a pig’s knuckle.

Hearing noise, several cooks quietly approached the corner where the Fire Kirin was hiding with cleavers in hand.

“Damn you, you thieving creature, sneaking in to steal food again, today we’ll chop you up for a drink,” the few cooks pounced toward the Fire Kirin.

The kitchen had recently been plagued by a “great kitchen thief” as many items were going missing day by day, stolen by an unknown culprit.

No sooner had they prepared something than it might disappear; these cooks had been searching for a long time and finally found the culprit.

“Damn it, a dragon playing in shallow water is teased by shrimps. To think in my heyday, I was an invincible force across the Three Thousand States, and today I’ve fallen to being chased by a few cooks, time to make a run for it…” The Fire Kirin jumped up, skillfully dodged the cooks’ attack, jumped out the window, and then disappeared without a trace.

Time passed. Three days later, the assessment for new students ended. Thirty students with outstanding results successfully joined the Genius Camp of Azure Dragon Academy, but the entire academy did not lessen its interest in newcomers because the assessment had ended. Countless people were still discussing who Lin Feng could be, having consecutively defeated Wei Li, Song Zhan Yuan, Yuwen Chenxing, and Huangfuyu – four powerful senior students renowned on the Mountain River List.
