Tempest of the Stellar War

The control assessment machine that was used to assess their level of control looked just like a huge calliper. There were various complicated scales on it. At the starting point, there was a counterweight that could be moved on top of the ruler.

“This assessment will be relatively easier compared to the other examinations. Release your Ability X and try to control the counter weight. Can you all see the scale on it? We will start with decimetres and you will control the counter weight to move 1 decimetre each time. You will pass if you can complete it 10 consecutive times without failure. Obviously, if you wish to have better performance, you could attempt the centimetre grade of 5 centimetres or even 1 centimetre. The same rules of 10 consecutive successes applied, and the smaller the scale, the better your performance.”

Instructor Ai introduced. Wang Zheng could only force a smile. He had never trained in this aspect before. Moreover he knew himself. His Ability X was still mainly explosive in nature. This type of precision control on a centimetre scale was beyond him. He could only force a smile optimistically.

Contrary to Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan’s helplessness, the other people felt natural. Clearly they were confident in this type of assessment.

Soon the last step of the examination was over. Zhang Shan comprehensive score was overall slightly better than Wang Zheng. Student Wang could not help but feel helpless. He could only admit that he was more of a practical battle person and wasn’t suitable for these types of examinations. His performance in the last step was rather bad. This type of micro-control of Ability X was a headache for Wang Zheng.

The two instructors didn’t reveal anything. To conclude, this batch of students had all met the criteria. They would report their results upwards and the upper management would allocate their classes based on the actual situation.

“I thought that Wang Zheng would give us a surprise… It seems to be more of a shock. Rookies are truly not as reliable.”

“Actually, did you ever think that with just this level of strength, he could actually reach such a high level in the IG?”

When Instructor Ai finished his sentence, Instructor Ai was stunned.

This batch of IG was indeed not weak. The assessments externally weren’t enough to be used as evidence. However, Elite Academy had also made their assessment of this batch internally. Although it wouldn’t be considered to be the strongest, it was still definitely above average. There were a few of them who could be considered as the cream of the crop no matter if it was their battle attainments or abilities. Despite all these, Wang Zheng was able to lead the unknown Solar System Team to the runner-up position. This was enough to prove his strength.

And yet this person’s had not undergone any systematic training for his Ability X.

“Perhaps it is worth it for us to look forward to his performance.”

“Haha, this won’t be our worry. Let’s see what the upper management says about this.”

After the examination was over, Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan were both anxious and fearful. Elite Academy X had things that they wanted. However the examination was very different from what they had expected. Yet, these were the criteria of the school. They felt that they had the capabilities but had not demonstrated it. However, they did meet the criteria after all. As for which class he would be allocated to, Wang Zheng did not mind.

It was rare for him to realise he had such glaring weaknesses. This was also his goal for coming to the Elite Academy X.

The results of the three people from Earthworm Federation were rather good. At least the three of them were satisfied with their results. “Did you all notice that the two instructors seemed to pay particular attention to Wang Zheng?” said Andre. “I always felt that his name sounded familiar.”

“I also had the same feeling. Wang Zheng…”

“Earth was famous because of the latest IG. Their Captain was…”

“Oh dear, we could just do a search on him. How big of a deal is this?” said Eisen.

“Hey, Eisen, what are you doing? Have you found it?” Lia was resting on the sofa and was having a drink.

“Yeah, this is crazy. There isn’t any information on the Internet. I will ask around later,” said Eisen as he was meddling on the screen of his Skylink. “Finally, I got it. I’m downloading all the information regarding the eight main teams of the IG.”

“Actually, it doesn’t matter. No one cares about the IG in this place,” said Andre.

The IG was an achievement worth showing in the outside world. However, it was only the case for ordinary students. Basically, people from the Elite Academy could not care about these matters. In their perspectives, IG was at most half an enrolment examination. Only the captain of the Champion team would have some special privileges. The rest would follow the same procedures as others.

“I heard from my seniors that Olivios has already turned this place upside down after being here for only a few months.”

“It couldn’t be that this brat is so arrogant and could even throw his weight around this place?” Andre asked curiously. IG Champion Olivios was clearly not the first one in this place. What was key was that although a C-rank ability might allow one to throw one’s weight around in the outside world, it would probably be better for one to keep a low profile in this place. If he/she met a B-rank ability user, the B-rank ability user could teach one a tough lesson with just a finger.

“I wouldn’t say he was just throwing his weight around. He even sent a senior from Arbiter to the hospital when he just arrived. I heard that it was because he wasn’t happy with the teachings, and he was definitely awesome.”

“This is… truly ruthless!”

At this moment, Eisen who was at the other corner suddenly slapped his own thigh. “Oh damn, looked at what I have found. This is crazy. There was such a big figure hiding near us!”

“Eisen, you always get overly excited. Hawkeye for a nickname? Shifty-eyed is more appropriate for you,” laughed Lia.

“Lia, if you continue to defame me, be careful that I don’t peek at you at night!”

“Come if you dare. I would smack you till you became an idiot!” said Lia.

Eisen was dumbfounded. “Alright, you win. Cough cough. If this isn’t wrong, this Wang Zheng might be the Captain of the Solar System IG team and was considered to be the Death God and the Crownless King!”

Eisen was rubbing his hands and was clearly excited. The fame from the IG, especially those that were the most glamorous, wasn’t a good thing in Elite Academy. Rumours had it that the seniors in this place weren’t friendly and would specifically look for these rookies to “have a talk”.

Naturally, Olivios would have met such a situation. However, this King of Arbiter would not care if you were a senior or someone with good results but bad behaviour.

“Was he the Death God or the Crownless King? Aren’t these all just nicknames?” Lia had sat up and asked curiously as she licked her lips.

“How would I know? It sure sounds rather exaggerated. Isn’t the Crownless King a failure? He might sound mystical, but we saw that his performance today was just average.”

“He might be hiding it.”

“Forget it. The strength of his Ability X was rather good, but his control was bad too. Couldn’t you all see it? Do you believe that this brat would be able to lead the Solar System Team to the runner-up position?”

“The rise of the Solar System seemed to be due to a few ancient families: Chronos, the Heavenly King family, and the Lie Family.”

“I have heard about these traditional families, but they were rather weak in recent times.”

“Zhang Shan was also in it and was a reserve. He only fought a few matches and his performance was just average. However, his warping ability is truly rare. It was just that it was still D-rank at that time. He only took slightly over half a year to raise it to C-rank.”

“Chey, so this brat is still new and inexperienced. I thought that that he was rather awesome.” Andre smirked. With a warping ability and a personality that liked to show off, he had initially thought that Zhang Shan was a pro.

“We are also new and inexperienced. It is good to have confidence. Meeting him is fate, and we will at least have someone looking after us in school. If Wang Zheng was truly their Captain, he will definitely have some skills. We can’t just judge a book by its cover.”

The three of them were having a chat when they each received a Skylink message. They opened it and realized that it was a serial number for first year students of Elite Academy. Receiving it would mean that they had officially become a member of the Academy.

The three of them was shocked for a moment and jumped up immediately. Although there wasn’t a problem to be enrolled, they were still very happy to receive the official acceptance confirmation.

In the other room, Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan had also received the acceptance notice. Student Zhang Shan’s confidence immediately exploded. “I am truly a genius.”

Student Zhang Shan looked at himself in the mirror and said, “Eh, I’m even more handsome now. I’m a little worried for the girls in the Academy. Wang Zheng, why do you have such an expression?”

“Let me finish vomiting first…”

“Oh, damn, this is blatant slander. You have to compensate me for my spiritual loss. It’s not alright. Today, I want to have a good meal!”

The truth was that the two of them were able to heave a sigh of relief. If they were rejected by the Academy, they would really be too ashamed.

“Eh, why didn’t I see Lear, Lie Xin, and the rest?” Zhang Shan suddenly thought of them.

“They might have participated in the examinations earlier. Lear…”

“Haha, didn’t you feel that this was quite smooth? Also, he was rather stupid.” Zhang Shan laughed.

Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan had been assigned to the Azure Dragon Region, Huang Class 7.

The academy could be separated into four ranks: Heaven, Earth, Xuan and Huang. Freshmen were all in the Huang ranks. Obviously the lower the class number, the stronger their strength. In the Elite Academy, the concept of freshmen included those who had just joined and those that might be lacking in strength. One had to increase one’s strength in battle or scientific research if one wanted to move into classes with a lower number.

“Oh damn, Huang Class 7. We couldn’t even make it to the first three classes. Nonetheless, it is still passable. We have the capabilities and we won’t need to be worried about where we start from.” Zhang Shan always had things to say and was happy again. “Wang Zheng, this is a good opportunity. We can turn this place upside down and conquer the Azure Dragon Region first. After which, we will sweep across the other regions!”

Wang Zheng rolled his eyes and replied, “What are you here for?”

“To make a name for myself!”

Wang Zheng was stunned. This person was beyond cure. Forget it. To each his own. Making a name for oneself could be left for the future. In fact, after this round of examinations, Wang Zheng really felt that he could learn about many things in this place. As for the opportunity to battle, there would be a plenty of that in the future.
