Flower Stealing Master

Chapter 734: An Unexpected Encounter

Huang Rong cautiously opened her eyes, only to find that she had not fallen off the cliff. Instead, she was soaring steadily through the air. She was instantly stunned. “This… this…”

“Do I suddenly seem much more heroic and impressive? Are you wondering how I did this?” Song Qingshu glanced at her smugly.

Huang Rong had indeed intended to ask him, but after his teasing remark, she felt too embarrassed to do so. Thinking quickly, she asked a different question instead, “Who is Shan Rou?”

Song Qingshu’s breath hitched, and he muttered in frustration, “Why don’t you ever play by the rules?”

A sly glint flashed in Huang Rong’s lively eyes. “Judging by the name, it sounds like a woman. Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Leader Zhou and the Ninth Princess about her?”

“Go ahead and tell them,” Song Qingshu chuckled. “Just remember to mention that you’ve also become their sister.”

“Shameless!” Huang Rong blushed and spat at him, but she wasn’t truly angry.

Song Qingshu then turned to look back at Wanyan Liang and the others standing at the edge of the cliff. Laughing heartily, he said, “So much for the prince’s inescapable trap! As the saying goes, ‘Hailing’s brilliant schemes to rule the world—lose the wife and the army as well.ʼ”

As he spoke, he leaned over and planted a k!ss on Huang Rong’s cheek, which made Wanyan Liang—who had long set his sights on her—seethe with rage.

Ouyang Feng, who recognized Song Qingshu’s true identity, was equally dumbfounded. ‘He actually k!ssed Huang Rong, and judging by her reaction, she doesn’t seem that upset…’
Ouyang Feng’s initial anger gradually turned to delight, and an odd smile crept onto his face. Although Huang Rong had escaped, the antidote she received was fake—if Guo Jing took it, he would die on the spot. As for this troublesome girl, it seemed something had happened between her and Song Qingshu… It looked like his visit to the Golden Serpent Camp had unintentionally yielded great results.

Just imagining his longtime enemies, the Guo couple—one dead and the other disgraced—was enough to erase over a decade of frustration. He almost wanted to throw back his head and roar in satisfaction, but seeing Wanyan Liang’s dark expression, he wisely chose to remain silent.

Huang Rong hadn’t expected Song Qingshu to kiss her in front of so many people. Overcome with shame and anger, she snapped, “How could you do that?”

Leaning close to her ear, Song Qingshu whispered, “…After everything we’ve done, I can’t even k!ss you?”

Huang Rong, already accustomed to his bold and shameless words, couldn’t help but pout. “You promised not to expose our relationship in front of others!”

Song Qingshu dismissed her concern. “I’m wearing a mask anyway. No one knows who I am. Besides, it’s not every day you get to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the mountains and rivers. You should take this rare opportunity to admire the scenery.”

Huang Rong had been about to argue further, but his words reminded her of the breathtaking view below. Though she had mastered Qinggong, she had never truly experienced the sensation of soaring through the sky. Her attention quickly shifted to the unique and stunning landscape beneath them.

She recalled how, years ago in the Western Regions, her “Brother Jing” had used ox hides to descend with his troops from the sky. At the time, she had been quite proud of that clever strategy. But compared to Song Qingshu’s “kite,” that old trick seemed utterly insignificant…

As nostalgia washed over her, Huang Rong became lost in thought, and even Song Qingshu couldn’t help but reminisce. This moment reminded him of the time he had taken Dongfang Muxue sword-riding above Heimu Cliff.

This time, however, instead of using sword flight, he had opted to build a glider. Sword flight was far too dangerous—one small mistake would mean instant death. Though he had succeeded once before, the sheer thrill of walking the edge of life and death made him never want to try it again. Back then, at Heimu Cliff, he had no choice but to jump. Now, with ample time to prepare, there was no need to take such risks.

Moreover, Heimu Cliff was high enough to allow a sword to reach the necessary speed for flight. This cliff, however, didn’t offer those conditions. If they had tried, they would have crashed to their deaths before achieving the right velocity.

Building a glider, on the other hand, wasn’t difficult for him given his knowledge from his previous life. The key was making sure to launch against the wind—something he had already tested in advance.

As he caught the faint scent of Huang Rong’s fragrance, Song Qingshu leaned in closer and murmured, “Rong’er, doesn’t this feel romantic?”

“What do you mean by ‘romantic’?” she asked curiously.

“Uh…” Song Qingshu hesitated, then patiently explained, “Romantic means making your heart race, filling you with poetic emotions and dreamy fantasies… Is your heart beating faster? Do you feel a faint attraction toward me?”

“Bah! In your dreams.” Huang Rong huffed, but inwardly, she felt uncertain. Her heart really was pounding… Was this what it meant to be moved?

Seeing her dazed expression, Song Qingshu felt a surge of triumph. ‘Am I being too shameless? Extreme sports like glider flight naturally make the heart race. Using the suspension bridge effect to make Huang Rong mistake it for attraction… Ha! I really am a genius!’

Huang Rong quickly snapped out of her daze as Song Qingshu’s hands started wandering. “You—what are you doing?”

“I’m just thinking about how we’ll soon have to part ways, and I can’t bear it,” he sighed. Now that Huang Rong’s business here was settled, she had no reason to stay.

Biting her lip, she glared at him. “So your way of showing reluctance is by sticking your hand inside my cl0thes?!”

“Exactly!” Song Qingshu showed no shame at being caught. “Making love in the vast sky—isn’t that romantic?”

“You—mmph!” Before she could protest further, her lips were sealed by his. At first, her body stiffened, but soon she softened in his arms, as if melting into him…

It was unclear how much time had passed when Huang Rong opened her eyes and realized they were descending. Alarmed, she pushed Song Qingshu away. “Stop it! Someone might see us!”

“There’s no one around in this remote wilderness,” he dismissed her concerns, his hands still roaming.

Just as those words left his mouth, a sharp whistling sound suddenly cut through the air.

Song Qingshu’s heart clenched in alarm. He quickly maneuvered the glider to dodge, avoiding the attack—but the glider wasn’t so lucky. A small but fatal hole appeared in the fabric, pierced by an unknown projectile.

Unable to maintain balance, the glider wobbled violently before plummeting toward the forest below.

Fortunately, they weren’t too high off the ground. With Song Qingshu’s Qinggong and the cushioning effect of the trees, neither of them were injured.

As they looked up, two figures appeared in the distance.

The moment Song Qingshu and Huang Rong recognized them, their expressions turned utterly strange.
