Flower Stealing Master

Chapter 640: Joy and Sorrow

“Cat?” You Tanzhi was startled. He thought to himself, ‘You’re lying in bed; how could a cat bite you?’ However, You Tanzhi’s inner cultivation was deep, and he quickly sensed someone under the blanket.

Watching the faint rise and fall of the bedding, as if someone beneath was moving their head up and down intermittently, You Tanzhi’s face turned red. He muttered inwardly, ‘Hmph, how shameless!’

But recalling the charming appearance of Wu Yunzhu under the blanket earlier, a tinge of envy rose in You Tanzhi’s heart. ‘He’s quite lucky with women…’

Seeing You Tanzhi still standing there, Song Qingshu frowned. “Have you seen enough?”

“Uh…” You Tanzhi was at a loss for words. He quickly retreated, shutting the door behind him as he stammered, “Sorry to disturb you.”

After confirming You Tanzhi had left, Song Qingshu lowered his head toward the blanket and said, “Your admirer is truly a bit foolish.”

“Mmm… mmm…” Ah Zi’s muffled voice was his only response.

Chupat! Chupat!

“Ah, I almost forgot; it’s inconvenient for you to talk now.” Song Qingshu smiled faintly, closing his eyes to enjoy the girl’s gentle ministrations.

Chupat! Chupat!
“Hhmph..hmmm~”

It was unclear how much time passed when Ah Zi’s resentful voice suddenly broke the silence.

“Master, Ah Zi’s mouth has gone numb…”

Song Qingshu chuckled, flipped her over by her slender waist, and pressed her beneath him. “Ah Zi, your skin is smoother than silk.”

Hearing his praise, Ah Zi’s eyes curved like crescent moons as she smiled. “Thank you for the compliment, Master.”

Song Qingshu’s hand wandered to the valley between her le*gs as he leaned in to whisper in her ear, “But this part… feels even smoother now.”

“Master, you’re so bad~” Ah Zi giggled, playfully pounding Song Qingshu’s chest twice, though her strikes were soft, afraid of hurting him.

Meanwhile, You Tanzhi stood outside Ah Zi’s room, occasionally glancing anxiously outside with a worried expression. He had no idea what his beloved fairy-like maiden was experiencing beneath another man at that very moment.

The next morning, Ah Zi cautiously made her way back to her room, her lips pouting. “I don’t see why Master was so worried about me sleeping in his room.”

As she approached her door, she noticed You Tanzhi curled up asleep on the ground. His clothes were damp with morning dew, clearly having spent the entire night there. Perhaps too exhausted, he dozed off, his head nodding slightly, with drool dripping from his mouth. Ah Zi found the sight revolting and kicked him. “Hey, why are you blocking the door?”

“Huh?” You Tanzhi opened his bleary eyes. Seeing his dream maiden before him, he beamed. “Ah Zi, you’re back?”

For a moment, You Tanzhi’s gaze lingered on her. Although he’d always thought Ah Zi was beautiful, her face had often carried a trace of melancholy due to constant anxiety. But today, she seemed different—her radiance was captivating, making her appear even more stunning.

“Why does it matter to you whether I come back or not?” Already in a bad mood, Ah Zi grew even more irritable upon seeing You Tanzhi, her words becoming sharper.

“Ah Zi, why are you suddenly so cold to me?” You Tanzhi panicked. “You weren’t like this before.”

“Hmph,” Ah Zi snorted. “Might as well tell you the truth. Before, I needed you as my bodyguard. But now that Master is protecting me—someone far more capable than you—I don’t need to bother being nice to you anymore.”

“Master?” You Tanzhi was momentarily confused.

“Move aside.” Seeing his bewildered expression, Ah Zi impatiently pushed open the door. However, the soreness and pain between her le*gs caused her to pause. Once the discomfort subsided, she continued inside.

You Tanzhi’s gaze followed her every move, and her odd behavior did not escape his notice. He quickly approached her in concern. “Ah Zi, are you feeling unwell?”

“Get lost!” Ah Zi slapped his hand away. “There’s nothing wrong with me! I… I feel great!”

Her shy, blissful expression and her awkward gait made even the slow-witted You Tanzhi realize something was off. He felt as though he had been struck by lightning. “You… you…”

“What are you babbling about? Stop blocking my way; I need some rest.” Ah Zi shoved him out.

You Tanzhi suddenly regained clarity. Furious and heartbroken, he grabbed her arm, his eyes blazing with anger. “Ah Zi, don’t be sad. I won’t despise you. Just tell me who hurt you, and I’ll kill them right away!”

“Idiot!” Ah Zi rolled her eyes at him.

“Tell me!” For the first time, You Tanzhi roared at her.

“If you insist, fine!” Ah Zi put her hands on her hips. “No one hurt me. Last night, I was willing, and I was very happy. Satisfied now?”

“No!” You Tanzhi felt as though his heart was splitting. Overwhelmed with despair, he ran madly for miles until he finally collapsed, pounding the ground in anguish.

After an unknown amount of time, You Tanzhi slowly regained some composure. ‘So what if she loves someone else? As long as I can stay by her side, I’ll be content.’

Instinctively, he turned back toward Ah Zi, taking a few steps before halting with a bitter smile. ‘What’s the point of returning? She doesn’t care about me and only sees me as a fool.’

Torn by inner turmoil, You Tanzhi suddenly had an epiphany. ‘I have no power, no status, and I’m ugly. It’s natural she doesn’t like me. But if one day, I become a hero and rise to prominence, with our shared history, maybe she’ll change her mind.’

With this thought, You Tanzhi’s spirits lifted. Remembering rumors about the Beggar Clan in Hebei electing a new leader, he took one last longing glance in Ah Zi’s direction before gritting his teeth and heading north.

“Ah Zi, where is Young Hero You?” The inn’s guests were awake, and Zhang Sanfeng wanted to ask You Tanzhi about his strange cold poison cultivation, but he was nowhere to be found.

“It seems he was upset about something and ran off.” Ah Zi answered indifferently.

“Very well,” Zhang Sanfeng sighed. He turned to Ren Yingying, his expression souring slightly as he recalled the faint sounds of gasping coming from Song Qingshu’s room the previous night. “Since your cold poison is cured, let’s head to the Golden Serpent Camp as soon as possible.”

Ren Yingying noticed Zhang Sanfeng’s displeasure and guessed the cause, shooting Song Qingshu a discreet glare. She respectfully replied, “I’ll follow your instructions, Master Zhang.”

Meanwhile, Song Qingshu mused to himself, ‘Why is Zhang Sanfeng so eager to reach the Golden Serpent Camp?’
