The Martial Unity

Chapter 2980: Charge

What they beheld was beyond their wildest fathoming.

They had conceived of many possible environments in the very epicenter of the Beast Domain.

They had conceived of extremely intense and hostile environment that would weaken them and strengthen their opponent.

They had conceived of simply barren lands devoid of all life.

And yet, for all their theorizing and conceptualization, they couldnʼt have fathomed in their wildest dreams that the very epicenter of the Beast Domain was a Lost City.

One that was so pristinely preserved that one would have thought they were works of art finely carved out of marble.

The skyscrapers that lined the entire countryside were massive. The infrastructure of the fossilized and frozen civilization was unlike anything one had ever seen in the world. Roads were neatly tarred and lined, distinct from sidewalks that stretched about buildings. Along the road were strange carriages with a shorter roof and a longer body, comprised of four seats within them with windows and doors on each side. Along each road were poles that stood up tall and straight with inscrutable purposes. There were even mechanized versions of bicycles, two-wheeler vehicles that didnʼt appear to need manual labor to travel.

Some poles even connected a network of wires that spread throughout the entire country. Their were all manner of technological machinery in and about the streets, more than most of them could even begin to fathom. Some they didnʼt recognize.

Some they could understand and compare to carriages.

And others they could even recognize.

Humanoid robots that conducted patrols, still hovering in the air by virtue of the esoteric matter that has fossilized them midair by strange principles they didnʼt understand. Although it wasnʼt clear from the outside, it didnʼt take a genius to note the pronounced space at its very center that seemed to have functioned as the cockpit for people.

It was consistent with the discovery that the Reverend of Reckoning had made.

What was even more chilling was that it wasnʼt just the infrastructures and other structures and objects that were fossilized and preserved in pristine condition.

No.

The people that resided were also preserved with an eerie condition.

Esoterified statues of people walking about the streets were equally amazing and horrifying.

Men, women, and children in and about the streets and the sidewalk, some frozen mid-step.

They donned t-shirt, shirts, pants, and all other manner of strange, alien articles and clothing that virtually only one man could have possibly recognized. In their hands were strange rectangular objects, with wires emerging from them and entering their ears.

An overwhelming majority of people appeared to be absorbed in this strange, flat rectangular block.

It was nothing short of a priceless picture of the past, neatly preserved and able to offer countless insights into the nature of the civilizations that were now Lost Cities. And yet, not a single Martial Sage paid the Lost City any attention.

They didnʼt even bother parsing it.

They couldnʼt divert even an iota of their attention to admire the fossilized slice of time from an ancient civilization.

Not because they didnʼt care.

But because a far, far greater entity drew every ounce of their awareness.

It drew every inch of their focus.

It capture every iota of their attention.

The sheer horror of its existence sent chills across their skin.

It sent shivers crawling up their spines.

Pure, raw terror gripped their hearts, unlike anything they had ever experienced in their entire life.

It was the fear that a lesser being felt when beholding a lifeform that belonged to a higher Realm of power.

It was the breath-shackling fright that emerged in the face of a monster of unfathomable power.

Their gazes converged at the very epicenter of the Beast Domain as they beheld a gargantuan mountain of an eldritch monstrosity.

A monstrosity beyond what even words could begin to fully describe.

It looked like a nightmare that came to life.

It looked like countless lifeforms had been butchered and dismembered, only to be sewn back together in a horrifying hybrid entity. Countless body parts and organs of countless anatomies and physiologies of countless species formed the building blocks of the terrifying maelstrom of horror and chaos that the creature was.

Countless abdomens across the tree of life stitched together, countless limbs and appendages sticking out of it in a grotesque collage. Countless skulls and heads fused together.

And yet, what unnerved them were the eyes.

FLICK FLICK FLICK FLICK FLICK…!!!!!

Virtually infinite shuttering noises overlapped in a chilling roar of noise as the hybrid creature opened all of its eyes at once.

All trillion of them.

All trillion eyes, each of a different lifeform, were integrated into the monsterʼs very being, into the head woven together from countless skulls shifted. They shifted as their gazes converged on the group of Martial Sages that had entered its domain at the very epicenter of the Beast Domain.

One moment, it simply gazed at them with its grotesque, inhuman eyes.

The very next moment, a surge of monstrous bloodlust unlike anything they had ever seen erupted within those eyes as raw fury coursed through the entirety of its hybrid body. It let out a roar.

A roar that shook the world.

”RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

UUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

EEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

RUMBLE!!!!!

In that moment, the Martial Sages learned true fear.

True terror.

It was as though every ounce of fear they had ever felt in their entire life before was fake.

As though they had felt fear for the very first time in their life as they beheld a monstrosity of unfathomable horror beyond their wildest fathoming.

Only one man could gaze at the horrifying monstrosity and identify what it was.

Rui gazed at it with a shocked expression as a single whisper escaped him. ”A chimera… an eldritch chimera.”

The same species of creature that had guarded the very epicenter of the Mellow Manifold.

In that moment, a horrifying possibility entered Ruiʼs mind.

One that he hadnʼt even fathomed in his entire life.

He gritted his teeth as he steeled his will and fortified his determination.

”CHARGE!!!” Rui roared with a tremendous intensity as his Realms of Power burst to life with a furious ferocity. A world of Water of unfathomable power erupted from his very being, consuming all of heaven and earth.

His scalding roar jolted the Martial Sages out of their frozen shock and horror.

They gritted their teeth and clenched their fist as their expressions crumpled with grave, severe determination.

”CHARGE!!!”

They roared as their Realms of power blazed with life and fury.

”CHARGE!!!”

They roared as their Martial Embodiments pained the very fabric of reality with their power.

”CHARGE!!!”

They roared as they charged the greatest enemy of all of human civilization.

”CHARGE!!!!!”
