The Martial Unity

Chapter 2799: Historic

A profoundly sublime atmosphere overtook the entire battlefield as the two severely injured combatants were taken away from the battlefield after being stabilized for more extensive treatment.

Sage Sekieiʼs body looked as though someone had punched a mound of clay, retaining the shape that it did from the impact.

His body had been churned.

Ruiʼs condition was even worse. It was as though every cell in his body had been crushed, even if momentarily and temporarily. His body had begun failing, and he would have died on the spot if not for the Blood of Solaris and his blood evolution treatment.

Both of them needed immediate and extensive treatment.

”You better make sure he doesnʼt die.”

The Devilʼs menacingly murderous voice gave goosebumps to the very world.

RUMBLE…

His eyes flared with bloodlust as he glared at Elder Diana.

”I will eat you alive if he does.”

Dark severity appeared on Elder Dianaʼs face at the threat.

The problem was not the words itself; people had made far more vile threats to her across her long life. The problem was that the Devil was known to make vicious threats and then live up to them to the T.

If Rui died, he would actually consume her flesh alive.

She immediately made their recovery an even higher priority.

She wasnʼt the most picky person about how she wanted to die, but this was certainly not it. Sage Shinken heaved a deep breath. ”I envy you Kandrians.”

He turned around as he began departing, followed by a pensive Sage Himari.

”To have such an era-defining monster born in your nation.”

WHOOSH

Just like that, they were gone.

The delegation had merely gone to the Heaven Sect to pressure the powerhouse and deter them from killing him. And while they hadnʼt exactly done much to deter the arrogant Heaven Sect, the Dawnbringer was still alive, and that was what mattered.

”…I should take my leave as well,” Bodhisattva Maitreyiʼs elderly voice was relaxed.

”Eeehhh~” Amare pouted with a disappointment. ”Canʼt you stay for longer?”

”Huhuhu, I would love to, but the Gen Temple needs me,” Bodhisattva Maitreyi smiled affectionately as she consoled Amare with gentle pats. ”Now then, good luck on your journey.”

Her gaze shifted to the carriage carrying the Dawnbringer back to the Heaven Sect for further medical treatment.

She had made the right decision, entrusting Amare to him. He was the only one worthy of being by her side, as far as she was concerned. That conviction had grown deeper when she beheld this battle. He was the only one with the bottomless potential that matched or even exceeded that of the endless potential for power within Amare.

On top of that, Amare had told her that he had already found out who was responsible for Amareʼs memories.

”Psycher…” A faint murmur escaped Bodhisattva Maitreyi as she briefly considered visiting the Esocline Federation. ʼ…No.ʼ She shook her head. ʼI must let her forge her own path to the truth and to Nirvana.ʼ

”Grandmother…?” Amare asked with a tilted head.

”Ah, itʼs nothing, my dear. Come, give your grandmother a farewell hug.”

While the two of them embraced in familial love, Sage Damianʼs expression morphed into a wild, excited grin.

”Hah! I canʼt wait for the lad to enter the Sage Realm!”

He had always thought that Rui would be an extremely fun opponent if they were in the same Realm. That thought had grown even more intense after he witnessed the sheer power that the Dawnbringer had been able to muster while still shackled to the Master Realm.

It was one of the most incredible feats that he had witnessed in his entire life. A profoundly burning desire to fight Rui had erupted within him. Rui had instantly shot to rank one on his list of people that he wanted to fight.

And thus, the Devil made a decision.

”When he enters the Sage Realm, I will attack him!” the man grinned with excitement.

He was not the type to make formal duel challenges or requests for spars.

He fought who he wanted to fight.

Naturally, he would pick a time when he was certain that the Dawnbringer was at his strongest. He was not interested in anything other than his peak. Additionally, he wouldnʼt ambush him to gain an advantage but attack him such that he had no choice but to fight back.

”Besides…” Battle lust flared in his eyes. ”He wonʼt refuse.”

He could tell that Rui enjoyed fighting.

Or rather, he enjoyed adaptively evolving rather than the violence aspects of the battle, but that distinction was moot since it all worked out to be the same for his goals regardless. He looked forward to facing Ruiʼs miraculous power once they were in the same Realm and comparing their power in battle to see who won.

Regardless, all the spectators who had borne witness to the battle had grown submerged in their own thoughts and emotions about the matter. They had all been deeply moved by the extraordinary display of power beyond his limits.

It was at that point that he had become firmly cemented as a Sage-level combat asset in their minds. It would reflect in the fundamental way that he was regarded by not just nations but also other Martial Artists.

Once the Sages dispersed and the most immediate aftermath was dealt with, the news of the outcome of the battle spread like wildfire throughout all of human civilization. This time, there was no Sage claiming outside interference that placed doubts on the veracity of the reports.

This time, there was absolute clarity and certainty in regard to what had happened.

The Dawnbringer had fought a Martial Sage, who was explicitly trying his hardest to kill him, to a draw with his own merit in a vast battlefield just for the two of them with absolutely no interference of any kind.

The truth was verified by multiple different parties, including the Heaven Sect itself, leaving the entire world shocked by a battle that would go down in history.
