Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 430: Fanatic Or Lunatic

Cold drops of water fell from the stormy clouds, raining on a small city. The droplets splashed upon contact with the metal top of a train. Sitting beside the window, Lucy watched the rain drops splatter against it.

She watched them go from looking like tear drops into blooming flowers the second they made contact with a surface. Lucy leaned against the glass, staring at the back of the seat in front of her with listless eyes.

When did she become this?

When did she lose herself?

A few days before now, everything was manageable, but all of a sudden, one morning, she found a strange being in her soul space.

Lucy clenched her teeth, trembling as an ugly urge swelled within her. She felt... hungry, yet everywhere she went, there were people, and they all smelt like food.

’It’s been days now. How long will you keep this up? I need to eat!’ A voice exploded in her mind.

”Shut... up.” Lucy clenched her teeth harder.

An ominous pink diagram formed, and an elegant figure clad in a breastplate and leg guards that seemed to be made of leaves appeared.

She had long pointy ears, thick braided black hair, pink lightning-shaped tattoos that reached one of her eyes, and a sword with markings of the moon.

One of her fingers went to her lips. ”Shush.” Her eyes scanned through the few people in the train. Unfortunately, although this train had very few people, only two groups of people went to its destination.

The first group were freelancing hunters, rarely guild combatants. The second group, on the other hand, were desolate folks who couldn’t afford city life anymore.

They were currently in a blue dungeon gate, and this train was leaving the main dungeon city for the scrappy towns where only the lowest of the low, people who weren’t considered part of society, lived.

The moment a group of freelancers saw the humanoid summon, their leader rose to his feet.

In places like these, ruffians were the norm. The leader tilted his head. ”What’s the name of that guy?”

”Godfrey Daniels.” One of his men told him as all three of them rose to their feet.

”Yeah, him. He did say humanoid summoners are not that bad. Honestly, I see what he means. I mean, none of us has summons that look this sweet.” The man stretched his neck like a crane.

”Ah... her summoner doesn’t look that bad either, Boss!” One of his men, who also stretched his neck, said even before his leader could utter a word.

The boss nodded and folded his arms. ”This summon of yours. Has it gone through the program?”

He asked.

”Unleash your summons and find out.” Hera’s upturned eyes glinted as her lips curled up, forming a charming smile.

The four men looked at themselves, shocked that the summon spoke. They adjusted themselves, wariness shadowing their adjustments.

”Are you... a Fanatic?” It was obvious the boss was about to explode into either lunging an attack or fleeing with his crew. It depended on the tier of this elf creature.

He couldn’t see through it, and that alone made him extremely wary.

When Hera gave no response, the man’s cocky demeanour flattened, and he chuckled. ”I was just joking. I meant nothing by those remarks earlier. Me and my team can—!”

The man’s eyes widened as he clutched his slit throat. He staggered, blood pumping out through the gaps of his fingers.

”Oh, I know what you would have done if I couldn’t defend myself. Unfortunately, your strength can’t stop me from doing what I want to do to you.” Hera cleaned the blood off on an empty seat.

Two dived toward the window while the last man raced for the door. They all came to an understanding that this was a Fanatic. Unleashing their summons would lead to a much worse end.

’Will Freeze.’ Hera’s eyes gleamed, freezing all of them mid-step. Two of them had already made contact with the windows, and cracks spread out as some pieces had pulled out.

The last man froze with his two hands reaching for the door to the next coach.

In the next moment, blood splashed on the windows, floor, and ceiling as three men dropped to the ground with huge cuts.

Hera was very meticulous, or her casual swing had the potential of slicing through the entire train.

The few people that were left shivered, yet remained in one place like plants being blown by the wind, yet also stubbornly embedded in one spot.

With a raised eyebrow, Hera faced Lucy. ”That’s strange. You would have stopped me before I took the first blow. It seems like you’re growing tough.” She held one of the poles running through the midsection of the coach.

”You usually cry. Looks like you’re out of tears too.”

Lucy said nothing. She didn’t even react.

They were in a place where the laws of the authorities couldn’t be enforced. Far within the depths of a dungeon.

To her, it meant fewer people, which equaled fewer temptations.

Even if she couldn’t recall, Lucy knew Gabriel did something to her. It had to be him. She knew he was the only one who could create summons, and this summon said she had been fed.

It all added up. Sebastian had to be the one who made her unable to remember what happened. She left a letter for Percival and fled when she noticed he was tracking her.

Lucy knew she hated herself the most. Her self loathe rose to heights that made her sick when the Obsidian of Jealousy mixed with Hera and infected her mind.

Right now, she was infected with so much unhealthy jealousy towards her friends that she wanted to go mad.

The worst part of all this was that she was aware. Aware of all these thoughts springing up in her mind, constantly at war.

She felt boxed up, the world had never felt so scary.

She didn’t even want to see a single human being.

Where was the real her?

She felt paralyzed, stuck in a nightmare she had just woken up into.

Maybe to Cain, this was just a joke, a game, but to her, this was her life. Which was already at its lowest, made a turn for the worse.

It had turned into what couldn’t even be imagined.

When the train eventually got to the station, Lucy descended, a hood over her face.

She took two steps and felt the rain suddenly cease. Every single drop halted mid-air, forming a mesmerizing scene in this abandoned place.

’I’ll be here... when you’re ready to speak.’ Percival’s voice rang out.

Turning, Lucy saw him a few metres away, as if he had been waiting there all this while.
