Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2136: Chapter 2145: This Is Her Punishment

The nurse barged in at this moment, ”Miss Lawrence, your honey water.”

She immediately noticed there were other people in the room, startled, holding the cup, she stuttered, ”Hello, Young Master Oscar, I... I didn’t see you before.”

”No worries.” In front of others, Oscar is an absolute British gentleman, smiling at the corners of his mouth, as if even the curvature of his mouth is precisely perfect.

The nurse suddenly blushed and quickly averted her eyes, afraid that someone might see through her. Holding the honey water, she walked toward Skye Lawrence’s bed, ”Miss Lawrence, your honey water.”

Skye Lawrence’s stomach was experiencing bouts of intense cramps.

She tried to maintain a composed face, not letting anyone see, and said coldly, ”Leave it there.”

The nurse hesitated for a moment, saying, ”Miss Lawrence, the temperature is just right now. If you leave it a while, the honey water will cool down. The doctor advised that you shouldn’t drink anything cold at this time.”

”I said leave it there, don’t you understand?” Skye Lawrence interrupted her.

Her body hurt too much, and she was also worried about that phone call earlier, her mood was not good.

The nurse’s face turned pale, discreetly glanced at the tall man in the room, her eyes reddened, her voice nasally, ”Yes, Miss Lawrence, I’m sorry.”

She placed the cup on the cabinet and quietly stood aside.

Yet anyone could see her grievance.

Skye Lawrence had seen all kinds of people, the nurse’s large reaction and her little actions, Skye had noticed them.

Her mood grew more agitated.

She rarely felt this annoyed, even though she tried to suppress it, she could still feel bursts of tightening anxiety in her chest.

Oscar didn’t say anything to Skye Lawrence as the nurse thought he might; he just stood by the bed, casually handed the fruit platter to the nurse, and said, ”You take this apple to eat.”

The nurse was flattered, hastily took it, her ears reddening, stammering, ”Th... Thank you, Young Master Oscar.”

Under ordinary circumstances, Skye Lawrence might not have been affected, but now, seeing this scene, she was somewhat repulsed.

Oscar merely gave the nurse an apple, and didn’t speak much to her. He then turned his head, saying to Skye, ”You should rest well. I have something to attend to, so I’ll be going first.”

”...” Skye Lawrence ignored him, leaning back against the pillow.

She closed her beautiful eyes.

Her features were handsome yet alluring.

Oscar glanced at her and then turned to leave.

The hospital room door quickly closed.

A wave of desolation surged up in Skye Lawrence’s heart, her stomach pain reaching its extreme, yet she didn’t want to tell anyone.

She felt she deserved this suffering, it was a punishment she ought to accept.

Since it was punishment, wasn’t it better to grit her teeth and endure?

At this moment, the room door was opened again.

Medical staff in white coats streamed in, and the doctor leading them was the one responsible for her, immediately saying upon entering, ”Miss Lawrence, Young Master Oscar told me before leaving that you weren’t feeling well. Could you tell me where you’re uncomfortable? May I help you with an examination?”

Skye Lawrence’s eyes flew open, her gaze extremely complicated, ”Who did you say sent you?”

”... Young Master Oscar,” the doctor replied, perplexed.

Skye Lawrence tightly gripped her hand by the bedside; due to her force, the veins on the back of her hand bulged.

How... did he notice she wasn’t feeling well? She had restrained herself well, no one should have been able to tell.
