God Of football

Chapter 557: Unprecedented

The hospital room was dim, but not dark.

Soft light filtered through the blinds as the match played quietly on the wall-mounted TV.

Machines hummed in their quiet rhythm.

Beside the bed, Leo’s mother sat with a hand resting on her son’s wrist, her other gently holding a cup of water she’d been trying to get him to sip for the past half hour.

But Leo hadn’t taken his eyes off the screen.

And when Izan scored... when he laid down on the pitch and pointed to the heavens like a dreamer lost in stars...

Leo clutched his chest—not from pain, but something deeper.

Something brighter.

A laugh bubbled up from his lungs, soft at first, then sharper.

He turned slowly toward his mother, his voice thin but full.

”He did it, Mama,” Leo whispered.

”He actually did it. The celebration. Just like I told him.”

His eyes shimmered with joy.

A joy that seemed too big for the frail little body it was trying to burst out of.

His mother froze for a second, then let out a sound—half laugh, half sob—as she reached up and stroked his hair gently, her fingers trembling.

”You did tell him,” she said. ”You really did.”

And for the first time in weeks, her son smiled—really smiled.

Not the polite one he gave the nurses.

Not the tired, grateful one he gave to the visiting players.

A smile like the sun had remembered him.

She wiped the corner of her eye quietly and just held his hand.

On the screen, the image of Izan lying on the pitch slowly faded out.

...

Back at the Emirates, the game ticked toward its final seconds.

The clock read 89:57, and five minutes had been added.

Everton’s press had faltered, their formation cracking open in their desperation to salvage a point.

But Arsenal, scenting blood now, were not in a merciful mood.

Havertz, who had been tireless upfront, timed his run perfectly, drifting off Onana’s shoulder to receive a threaded ball from Ødegaard at the top of the box.

A quick shift to his left.

One touch to settle.

And he rifled it in.

”GOAL! It’s two!” the commentator roared, his voice riding the crest of another Emirates eruption.

”Kai Havertz joins the party—and Arsenal have turned this match on its head!”

”They were clinging to a draw minutes ago,” his co-commentator added.

”Now look at them. The league leaders just flipped the script. One goal to break the deadlock... another to bury it.”

The fans were still roaring as the camera cut to Arteta on the sideline, fists clenched and raised toward the sky.

2–0. Full-time was approaching.

And they had all their questions answered.

.......

The sun had barely begun to climb, the following day, when the football world was hit with a gleaming distraction.

Koenigsegg x Izan.

It trended globally before breakfast.

The Swedish hypercar manufacturer released a sharp, cinematic reveal across its platforms—silver and blue streaking across a closed track in slow motion, Izan behind the wheel of the limited-edition Gemera R, his name stamped just above the rear wheel arch.

The partnership was official.

”Precision meets potential,” the caption read.

”Introducing our First, youngest, and newest ambassador: the future of football, Izan.”

Within the hour, headlines followed:

• Izan signs with Koenigsegg in an unprecedented deal.

• Youngest Ballon d’Or contender lands luxury automotive partnership.

• From pitch to pavement: Arsenal star makes off-field power play.

A sports tabloid released an article about the deal.

It read: Inside the Koenigsegg–Izan Deal: What We Know So Far

By Marcus Langley | Motorsport & Athlete Endorsement News

Koenigsegg’s partnership with 17-year-old football sensation Izan sent ripples across both automotive and sports media.

Official details remain under wraps, but reports from industry insiders offer a glimpse into one of the most ambitious brand-athlete deals of the year.

Estimated Value:

The partnership is rumored to be worth €8 million annually, catapulting Izan into the upper tier of non-footwear sponsorship earners. For a teenager or most players in general, it’s almost unprecedented.

Sources claim Izan receives early access to every new Koenigsegg model, including his current unreleased Gemera—a sleek dark silver build with signature blue accents.

Each model is either returned or kept at 50% of the market price, depending on Izan’s choice.

He also reportedly has access to bespoke customization, from interior trim to performance specs—one-off builds crafted specifically for him.

The deal includes a strict 36-month exclusivity clause, barring Izan from appearing alongside any other automotive brand in media or marketing content.

There’s also a rumored clause around ”brand-conscious behavior,” essentially ensuring Izan’s public image aligns with Koenigsegg’s elite and futuristic identity.

Why It Matters:

Koenigsegg’s decision marks a strategic leap—pairing with not just a footballer, but a potential global icon. The brand isn’t chasing reach. It’s chasing relevance.

Izan, for his part, isn’t just signing deals. He’s shaping what the modern football brand looks like—on and off the pitch.

And naturally, the reactions weren’t far behind.

On El Larguero, a Spanish radio panel dissected the announcement live.

”He’s seventeen,” one analyst muttered.

”Koenigsegg? What’s next—private space travel by SpaceX?”

But another, older voice spoke up.

”You don’t understand,” he said.

”This isn’t about cars. This is about making history and chasing the narrative. Izan pulls everything toward him. Fans. Brands and attention even when he doesn’t try. So why won’t brands capitalize on it.”

In England, the Sky Sports studio had already assembled its morning team.

Jamie Carragher sat back in his chair, expression skeptical.

”Don’t get me wrong, I love the kid,” he said.

”But sometimes this is the problem. You get all the flash, all the noise—and a player loses his way. Remember Freddy Adu? Ravel Morrison?”

Joshua Cerxes laughed.

”You’re naming players who never even made a Champions League quarter-final and definitely didn’t win the euros at 16.”

”Izan’s carrying Arsenal and scoring at a rate we’ve never seen at his age. If anything, he deserves this,” he added.

The fanbase was split.

@A7_bel:

”I love the kid but can we PLEASE stop putting all this on his plate? Just let him cook football.”

@Sam Kupers_:

”Bro just debuted a car that isn’t even out yet. And people are worried? He’s already that guy.”

@IzanRising:

”He dropped 2 goals against Monaco, dragged us past Everton, and dropped a Koenigsegg the same week. The PR team’s working overtime.”

But the most viral post came from an anonymous account that simply posted:

[VIDEO] Izan’s unreleased Koenigsegg Gemera leaving Colney the night of Arsenal vs Monaco.

The car’s engine whirred like it had a pulse of its own.

The plate blurred and that didn’t go unnoticed.

......

On France’s Canal+, two pundits—both former internationals—argued with sharp tongues.

”Don’t you think this is all too soon?” said the first.

”He’s a teenager. A kid. Pele didn’t sign car deals.”

The other shook his head.

”No. Pele was the deal and how many brand sponsorships were around at that time. This isn’t 1970. This is now. And you’re watching the greatest player we’ve ever seen come up before our eyes.”

The host interjected:

”But will he stay that way if the brands keep pulling him off-pitch?”

”Depends who’s driving,” the pundit said.

”Him, or the noise and in my humble opinion and from how he carries himself even at his young age, I think he’s in the seat”

.......

Inside Colney, things were quieter.

Izan didn’t even have his phone on him during recovery training.

But Miranda did.

She sat by the window of her temporary London apartment, watching the Koenigsegg press team’s global rollout.

When the social media alerts buzzed her phone every two minutes, she let them stack.

Her inbox was full.

Most were questions or requests for interviews with Izan but she had to keep them guessing.

Scarcity warrants exclusivity.

A few were offers and the others were from luxury brands asking if Izan was open to men’s underwear.

She smiled at the last request and then scrolled again.

Because behind the hype, behind the backlash—this was the truth:

Izan was just too good, a pot of wonders to pass up on.

The boy was just in the spotlight, even if he wasn’t trying to.

As the night settled and the internet continued to churn, a quote surfaced from a South American football documentary.

It was Pelé, speaking to a young Brazilian player during a charity match in the 80s.

The quote was retweeted thousands of times beneath the Koenigsegg announcement.

”Be great, yes. But remember—if people only see your goals and not your love for the game, they’ll forget you just as fast.”

The irony?

Izan had never forgotten.

He was still lacing up like it was his debut.

Still one of the first to arrive in training.

Still waiting in the quiet, long after the cameras were gone.

And whether that made him smarter, flashier, or riskier—

The whole world was watching.
