The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1206: Pall of Mystery

Overwhelming, it has always been the case.

No matter who you are, as long as you walk and follow the same road, Rex Silverstar is going through—it has always been overwhelming. Kyran is the second person to join the road right after Adhara, and he knew that with certainty.

He knew personally how overwhelming the road might be.

In his early days, he was faced with problems that scaled way higher than him.

Starting from the 25 Golden Crest Families that forced him to be accustomed to both death, and life, as quickly as possible—getting exiled from the Human territory, the Witch of Chaosʼ scheme, and even the Fifthborn.

Anyone who couldnʼt keep up would be left behind or worse, killed.

Rosie is an example of that, she failed to reach adequate power and got drowned.

More extreme ones are Rexʼs parents, neither recognizes the pace at which Rex is going.

ʼOut of everything, I donʼt want to be left behind,ʼ Kyran pondered, clenching both of his fists tightly. ʼEdward once said to me that Rex is threading a lonely path—he is going too fast and eventually, none would be able to keep up. Itʼs probably the reason Edward decided to make use of the Fifthbornʼs corruption... to become stronger,ʼ

Kyran steeled his resolution and focused back on Evelyn, ”How strong are the Angels?”

”Calidora said they are as strong as the Demons,” She replied recounting the meeting earlier. ”Angels and Demons are stronger in the past compared to the other Supernatural races, so if I had to say, they are very strong”

In addition to that fact, it was also the Second Breath.

Naturally, the Angels would recover their past strength so they are dangerous.

Compared to the Fifthborn in the First breath, they are definitely more dangerous.

Looking down in contemplation, Kyranʼs eyes flickered with light as he nodded repeatedly.

”What is it?” Evelyn asked.

Kyran rubbed his chin that has a small unhealed scar, ”I think I may found an Angel,”

After saying that, he decided to share his experience with Evelyn.

Just earlier—he met with the Tigerman envoy, who reported the incident of infiltration from a foreign force. He even went to visit their capital city and scouted the surroundings, but it was clear that the perpetrator was very meticulous.

Not a single trace was left behind, that is except for one.

All of the missing Tigermen were spotted coming back to their legion without any injuries.

It was almost as if nothing happened, these Tigermen returned and reported back.

Physique-wise—none of them were hurt, they were in the exact same condition as before all of them went missing for almost a day. Many would believed, that they indeed lost their way, except for the fact that these Tigermen remembered that they were ambushed.

Out of courtesy, Kyran was given to do the second interrogation of these Tigermen.

Each one of their confessions is almost an exact procedure.

As a starter, they were all ambushed from the back and knocked unconscious before they all were brought to a waterfall. Upon regaining back their consciousness, they were questioned and threatened, but they remembered cursing the person who kidnapped them.

None of them spilled anything, they are veterans and would not easily break.

So all Tigermen were certain that they didnʼt spill any information.

But when Kyran asked the crucial questions such—as what the person who ambushed them looked like, they all answered that the personʼs entire form was covered in blinding light. Not even a glimpse of the person could be seen, only a golden blinding light.

In addition to that, the Tigermen also didnʼt remember what the person asked them.

All of them couldnʼt even remember hearing the sound of the waterfall, it was eerily silent.

Kyran suspected that their memories were being tampered with.

He was confused—as to why the person who kidnapped the Tigermen didnʼt simply erase all the memories, but tampered with them instead. Surely erasing the memories would be better to keep the personʼs identity a secret.

Of course, thereʼs a suspicion that the person was not strong enough to do that.

Erasing memories is harder than tampering with them.

Regardless of that, Kyran decided to assume that the person had something else in mind.

A reason why he or she only tampered with the Tigermenʼs memories.

Evelyn listened to him attentively and frowned—she could understand why Kyran suspects that this person who kidnapped the Tigermen was an Angel considering that the Tigermen were all describing a golden blinding light.

But with the news from Ken, there was one deviation from the description.

”It could be an Angel—but from the report I got, the Angels are very hostile—they attacked anything and even conquered Supernatural Kingdoms. If it was really an Angel, I canʼt think of a reason why the Angel spared the Tigermen,” Evelyn said, voicing her thoughts.

Upon hearing this, Kyran pondered again, ”I also donʼt know why,”

”Anyway, can you look into the hospital? Prof. K should still be inside—he will fill you in on the details,” Evelyn said and walked past Kyran. ”Also—Linthia had gone ahead to find Rex, in the fog. Iʼm afraid that she couldnʼt find Rex, so help her for me. Iʼll go to the Dark Elf Kingdom,”

Kyran nodded his head, he was about to check the hospital even without Evelyn telling him.

But then before Evelyn could go far, he turned and called her.

”Evelyn,”

”Yeah?”

Evelyn turned towards him and raised an eyebrow when she heard him call.

”Have you talked with Rex?”

”No, why?”

”Just talk with him about this, Iʼm sure he has a reason. Also, the other subservient Kingdoms are reluctant to come here after hearing the news and your situation—I am suggesting you to finish the problem,”

”Everything is fine. If they need something, they can come to visit me,”

Clearly not wanting to have this conversation, Evelyn continued onward after saying that.

It was obviously a lie, she was not fine, and Kyran knew it.

Sighing lightly as he had to endure the choking air for longer, Kyran called Naela and went to the hospital. But as he was about to step inside, he sniffed the air and turned to the right, he focused on the edge of the hospitalʼs wall.

”Lord Kyran, if you follow me, Iʼll guide you to the scene,” A guard came and greeted.

However, Kyran didnʼt answer as his eyes were focused elsewhere.

”Kyran? Arenʼt we going inside?” Naela asked, seeing that the guard was waiting for Kyranʼs answer. Seeing that instead of answering, Kyran walked to the side, Naela gave the guard a smile, ”Please wait a moment, we will be back”

On the other hand, Kyran was fixed on the corner of the hospitalʼs wall.

He sensed a lingering energy, but it was dampened with another energy.

Upon reaching the edge, he knelt to a slightly wet spot on the ground, and reached his hand to touch it. He brought his hand to his nose to sniff it before his frown deepened, ”Iʼm right, I can tell that itʼs leftover energy. Someone cast a skill or a spell—but how come I can not tell, what kind of energy it is? Its essence was layered by a rough and unpredictable flow,”

”Something is covering the remains, is it cursed energy...?” He added, utterly confused.

Maybe he was too alert right now, but he did find this out of place.

On the other hand, inside the castle.

Adhara sat in a meditative position on her own bed chamber—the very bed, that became her resting place because of Calidora—who was clinging to Rex, however she could and decided to kick her out.

Her hands were resting above her knees, embodying a deep, serene focus.

Visible to the naked eye fire mana could be seen shimmering in the air, swirling gracefully.

It sparked flickers of purple embers around Adharaʼs form as it remained constant.

Beside her, nestled on the sofa, a small creature resembling a ball of fire slept soundly, it was Flamy—its body gently glowing, casting a warm light. Suddenly, however, the creature stirred and woke up, sensing an unseen change.

It blinked awake, its fiery form crackling softly in the stillness.

As it turns out, Flamy sensed the fiery air around Adhara becoming lesser and lesser.

Eventually, she opened her eyes slowly.

Her gaze, now alight with a fiery purple hue, gleamed brightly as she came out of meditation.

Knowing that the world will become more and more dangerous—Adhara dedicated herself to meditation and becoming stronger. She cultivated in the way of the Fire Elementalist—fully in tune with the Divine Pyroclasmic Emissary spellbook.

She had already read about the quarter of the book, the first volume, and cultivated with it.

Judging from the scorching energy she emanated, she had gotten stronger.

”Using the cultivation method from the book is extremely effective,” Adhara muttered, gazing down at her body with a smile. ”I could even improve my realm even without the need for any elemental stones. If I can keep this up—I could attain the ninth-rank realm in my fire element, easily,”

Experiencing the surge of power, Adhara was delighted with her new strength.

Considering her talent thanks to Rex, she could reach the peak ninth-rank realm quickly.

Not to mention the overflowing energy she gained from the Second Breathʼs initiation.

Given a little bit more time, she could even begin ascending to the tenth-rank realm.

Adhara knew that compared to her Werewolf form, her fire element was becoming lackluster and in need of dire improvements. But with her fire element becoming a True Fire Element, it wouldnʼt be hard for her to keep her fire element aligned with her Werewolf form.

Hoping off the bed, she went to Flamy and gave its daily dose of flames.

Flamy was akin to a pet, and Adhara really enjoyed its company.

Just then, she went over to the drawer beside the bed and took out something from it.

A flame crystal—its inside was blazing with the power of ancient fire that could scorch even the toughest of metals or bones. A gift that was given by the Fire Elementals, the Primordial Fire Crystal.

Adhara forgot to give it to Rex, and she was going to give it to him now.

She was supposed to give it before the fight with the Fifthborn, but there was no need.

Rex was able to defeat the Fifthborn with his power alone.

”He said that this could inscribe any weapon with True Primordial Fire—he could use this for the next fight—against the Fourthborn,” Adhara muttered, lightly. ”I guess I will give it to him now, he should still be training,”

Not knowing that Rex had already left, Adhara put on her royal cloak and stepped out.

Of course, she didnʼt forget to bring Flamy with her.

A moment later—she reached the entrance to the training arena and found that Rex was not there, he seemed to already finished, his training. Frowning—she expanded her senses, and found that Rex was not within her radar.

”Did he go out?” She uttered inwardly before heading outside.

Adhara wanted to ask the stationed guards to see if they knew where Rex went.

But upon reaching the hallway on the right of the throne room—she saw Calidora, appearing from the corner, and walking in her direction. Calidora seemed to be out of it, her expression showing that she was thinking deeply.

In addition to that, Adhara also saw a glimpse of her smirking.

Calidora was pondering so deeply that she didnʼt even realize she walked past Adhara.

”Whatʼs there to smile about? Did something good happen?” Adhara suddenly asked.

Upon hearing this, Calidora snapped out of her mind and glanced over her shoulder.

Realizing that she was in the hallway and Adhara was talking to her, she wiped the smirk on her face instantly, returning her expression to neutral, ”I thought we established that we are better off not talking to each other. Considering that I didnʼt bother your time with Rex—and you said nothing, I suppose I donʼt need to share anything with you too,”

Adhara frowned when she heard this, it seemed Calidora knew everything.

She knew about the night Adhara made up with Rex.

Not even waiting for a response, Calidora continued, leaving Adhara behind her.

”Whatever, not that I want to know either,” Adhara muttered in annoyance—casting a deep condescending glance at Calidoraʼs back. But as she took a step away—she stopped once again and turned to look at Calidoraʼs back going further away.

Her expression was that of reluctance, and she watched until Calidoraʼs back disappeared.

”Damn it, Calidora...” Adhara cursed before she turned around.
