The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 786: Unexpected Team-up (2)

Rex already expected that this might be the case, but it still surprises him to know.

Noticing the indomitable curse powers that Calidora is excluding right now got Rex thinking that she might be using the Eternal Curse to reach this high level. But thereʼs still a clear question inside his head.

ʼWhatʼs her reason to focus on curse powers instead of her Vampiric powers...?ʼ

Calidora definitely wants to get strong like any other living creature, yet she chooses to follow the path of cursed energy. Despite possessing one of the strongest Supernatural bloodlines, she instead chooses another path.

Underneath her maniacal appearance, there should be something behind this choice.

But thereʼs no time for him to think about this now, ʼOne more minute, I need to sever the link between Gistella and Dealkandrax. System, can I use something to enhance my attack?ʼ

As soon as Rex bought the Annulment Elixir as there shouldnʼt be any hiccups with so much at stake here, a powerful blast snap him back into the fight. Calidora and Dealkandraxʼs energies clash with each other.

In the midst of it, Gistella bites her lips and tries her hardest to escape to no avail.

Even though the cursed energy from Dealkandrax was able to slowly scorch Calidoraʼs fingertips, she laughs like a lunatic instead of weeping in pain. Itʼs unclear whatʼs in her mind right now, ”I can smell your panic, are you at the breaking point of being scared?!”

”Vampire... Iʼve had enough of you” Dealkandrax replied and swung its scythe harshly.

Swoosh!

Calidora leaped back due to the pushing force, she then raises her gaze again with burning motivation in her eyes but was surprised when Dealkandrax cast something, creating a huge formation, spanning for miles, filled with cursed energy on the ground.

Under their gazes, Dealkandrax started chanting a mantra using an unknown language.

Despite doesnʼt know exactly what he needs to expect from this mantra, Rex cuts through the air like a meteor and aimed his claws, imbued with Unholy Claws of the Reaper skill right at Gistella.

Just like he anticipated, the cursed energy was trying to resist him as he got closer.

But under his brute strength, he was not going to be slowed down. ʼI need to reach her. Iʼm going to create a perfect world where humans and Supernaturals co-exist, and I want Gistella and the others to see that vision coming true. I will not let her die here!ʼ

Swoosh!

Clang!

About ten feet away from reaching Gistella, Rex was met with a stronger resisting force.

It was so strong that he was also propelled back as Calidora did earlier. Although that is the case, he now learns that there are layers and that powerful resisting force is the last layer that he needs to break to reach Gistella and sever the link between them.

Roar!!

Dealkandrax roared, causing its astral voice to tremble the entire place.

Upon the roar, Rex and Calidora look down and finds that the formation engraved on the ground started glowing brightly. Just then, a hand protruded from the ground and grab Rex and Calidoraʼs shoulders.

But both of them swung their arms and destroy the hand grabbing on them easily.

”We need to take care of these things first to reach Dealkandrax. Letʼs cut through them, and use your cursed energy to amplify my attack when I got close enough, okay?” Rex said while looking around the place where countless cursed creatures started crawling out of the ground.

Now it was clear to them that the formation is a summoning formation.

Since Dealkandrax only needed time to extract the curse from Gistella, he decided to use this cursed spell to stall them. Rex knows that is its game plan, and he was not going to let it succeed.

”Oh, are we a team now?” Calidora teased, putting her back against Rexʼs.

Gritting his teeth, feeling annoyed that he was forced to rely on Calidora at this time, Rex suppressed his anger, ”Just focus or youʼre not going to get anything from me, I reckon youʼre very excited about your request”

”Verily... Iʼm going to enjoy you thoroughly” Calidora replied with her sweet yet deadly tone.

Roar!!

In an instant, the hundreds if not thousands of cursed creatures started swarming at them, surrounding them at the center. Each of their gnarly appearances was a sight to see, a tide of black death.

Many of them are varying in appearance, and some are drastically different.

Some are shaped like humanoid creatures with weird postures and broken faces, while some take a more disgusting approach such as having tentacles heads with elongated long tongues, or even multiple limbs with intestines pouring out of their open stomachs.

If not for Rex and Calidora that are the ones here, othersʼ would tremble in absolute fear.

Even their combination of cursed energy turns into a cloud of dark bronze energy, suffocating the air around them and painting the entire place in a hell-like portrait, a stuff of nightmare for many.

Kaboom!

Rex and Calidoraʼs energies exploded as they lower their stances at ready.

Without the slightest bit of hesitation, Calidoraʼs eyes glowed as the ground in front of them cracked before she flaps her wings violently, cutting through the swarm of cursed creatures like an arrow.

Calidoraʼs swings are strong enough to cut each of them down, flawlessly.

Not one of them suffer an easy death, they were ripped to shreds by Calidoraʼs claws.

But that is to be expected for having control of the Twelft-Epiphany Natural Curse that is also inside of her, these lower-epiphany curses are nothing for Calidoraʼs cursed and lethal claws.

On the back, Rex followed closely from behind, taking care of the ones that survived.

Just then out of nowhere, he looks up when he finds the spot around the two of them darkened, and he witnessed hundreds of cursed creatures leaping onto them, throwing themselves to buy more time.

Not intending to leave everything to Calidora, Rex jumped above her.

Spreading both of his arms to the side, his eyes then glowed with an unnatural color of blue as water mana started to cloak his entire body, creating a thin layer of aqua, ”Great Water Spell, Splashing Cocoon...”

Swish!

Rexʼs body was enveloped with a bubble before it explodes, splashing the cursed creatures.

Immediately after he does that, a streak of black lightning started to sizzle around his body like a serpent, and even covered his crimson eyes with blitzes of black electricity, ”Blitzing Cry!”

Blitz!!

Black lightning strikes stab out of Rexʼs body and hits the cursed creatures around him.

On top of that, thanks to the Splash Cocoon spell that he does earlier, the black lightning finds it easy to spreads from one cursed creature to the other, eventually electrocuting hundreds of cursed creatures in an instant.

ʼNot enough, they are cursed creatures, most of them will surviveʼ Rex thought.

As these are not regular cursed creatures, the lower-epiphany ones that are easily killed, Rex knows that the majority of them are going to recover from being paralyzed by his black lightning. But that is not a problem for him.

”Black Field Orko!” Rex chanted once again, turning the ground beneath him black.

Countless black lightning tentacles burst out of the ground, gripping a dozen or more cursed creatures each. It was also perfect thanks to the fact that his mana has been increased dramatically, and the number of black lightning tentacles he can summon was increased by more than tenfold.

Rex didnʼt need to kill them all in one swoop, he only needs to restrain them.

But the fight is not done yet, the cursed creaturesʼ sheer number that surrounded them is too much to cut through, and they wouldʼve wasted more time. ʼDevo, weʼre going to try that. Itʼs been a while, but weʼre stronger, we should be able to do thatʼ

[Just do it, Iʼll also try to the best of my abilities]

Upon agreeing to that, Rex takes a deep breath to keep his focus at maximum.

”Calidora, heads up...”

As he said that, the sunny sky above them started to become cloudy as Rex and Devo controlled the weather. Coaxing as much spirit energy as they can, he then eventually chanted, ”Pneuma Spell, Ether Blink!”

CRACK!!

BLITZ!!

Instead of one, Rex cast to Ether Blink. One for himself and one for Calidora.

Rex and Calidoraʼs body slowly turns into lightning particle and disappeared from the place. Soon enough, two lightning strikes descend down from the sky again, before the two of them reappeared.

But now, the two have a clear path to Dealkandrax thanks to that Pneuma Spell.

Since Rex hasnʼt been using his lightning powers lately due to the enemies he has fought, heʼs not confident that he was able to teleport Calidora alongside him, knowing full well that she doesnʼt have any lightning affinity which makes it way harder.

On top of that, he summoned two instead of one, taking a huge chunk of his spirit energy.

Although that was the case, he succeeded in doing that, mainly due to his enhanced focus as the Time Limit is slowly running out. It was a necessary pressure for his mind to be pushed to the limit.

Now the path is clear, itʼs time for the finality of this battle.

Swoosh!

Calidora gathered as much Blood Energy as she can and created a huge ball of blood above her head, it was increasing in size rapidly, and it slowed down its expansion when it reaches about the size of an air balloon.

Instantly after, she threw the ball of blood straight at Dealkandrax.

”Ancient Blood Magic, Ecliptic Sphere of Blood!”

Upon feeling the incoming attack, Dealkandrax, who is focusing on the extraction process that has reached 87% glance back and finds a huge ball of blood expanding in its vision. In an attempt to stop it, Dealkandrax summoned 12 coffins from the ground.

Each of the coffins acts as a shield, slowing the huge ball of blood.

As the coffins are dense with cursed energy, the huge ball of blood only managed to pierce through seven of them. But what Dealkandrax was not expecting was Rex, dashing right behind the huge ball of blood.

Dealkandrax didnʼt sense him at all due to focusing on the huge ball of blood.

Rexʼs entire energy burst forth into a black hole of power that instead of pulling, it pushes everything away powerfully. Knowing that this is his last chance, he didnʼt pull back any of his power despite threatening to expose his location.

Earlier, he already dispatched a barrier from the System to keep their energies from leaking.

It was only able to withstand his power without the effective increase of the Blood Moon King Mark, but as he canʼt afford to fail, he threw away his caution and used everything he got.

Berserkerʼs Curse, Extreme State, King Mark, Red Force, he uses everything in his arsenal.

Crash!

Crash!

Crash!

As if the coffins were made of paper, he tears through them easily.

Dealkandrax was caught in absolute surprise when in a few seconds, Rex is already right in front of him with his claws emitting a horrifying amount of power. It was then, Calidoraʼs cursed energy gathered on the tip.

”Now youʼre dead, Dealkandrax...” Rex uttered savagely before he drives his claws forward.

KABOOM!

Upon the tremendous power gathered by Rex, the last layer of protection that is impenetrable before was shattered. Not stopping the momentum, he kept pushing his claws and hits Dealkandrax right in the chest.

Crash!

In an instant, Dealkandrax has shot away, destroying everything in its path.

Rexʼs eyes bulged when he saw the time limit, he quickly takes out the Annulment Elixir from his inventory and shattered it instantly. With his claws soaked with the liquid of the elixir, he dashed, intending to cut the link and free Gistella.

At the sight of Rex coming to save her, Gistella smiled lightly and muttered his name.

Just then, someone came and stands in front of him, blocking his way to reach Gistella.

”Now, now... where do you think youʼre going?”

”C-Calidora?!”
