Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 1829: Chapter 764: A Name Reverberates Throughout Dongxuan

On August 3rd, as the comprehension time gifted by True Monarch Tianzhang came to an end, most cultivators chose to return.

After all, this period of enlightenment had already far surpassed previous ones.

Xu Jin was also among those returning.

There were still three days left for comprehension time at Dongxuan Island, and Xu Jin needed to reserve this installment to replenish the Chaotic Star Gang for the Heaven and Earth Cloud Tower.

Stepping out of the Teleportation Hall of the Dao Palace, Xu Jin was about to exit the hall and then use Space Movement to leave.

Just as he stepped out, he saw Princess Zhu Linxiao, wearing a silk hat, waiting for him outside the hall doors. Upon seeing Xu Jin exit, Zhu Linxiao, dressed in palace attire, walked quickly to greet him and smoothly linked arms with Xu Jin.

”Husband, Linxiao has prepared a welcoming banquet at home to celebrate your achievements...”

”Good!”

Xu Jin just wanted to head back directly with Zhu Linxiao when suddenly, he noticed a figure turning up behind Zhu Linxiao. It was the Hall Master of the Spiritual Resources Hall, Liu Gaoyang, looking at the two with a wry smile.

”Mr. Liou, what’s this?” Xu Jin was taken aback.

”Greetings to Mr. Zhu, greetings to Mr. Xu.”

Liu Gaoyang first saluted the two in turn, then said with a wry smile, ”You two, it’s not that I’m being rude, but I really must disturb you both due to the True Monarch’s orders.”

”True Monarch’s orders?” Zhu Linxiao frowned.

”Yes, the True Monarch has ordered that upon Xu Jin’s return, he must settle his military merit first before going back home.” Liu Gaoyang said.

”Is there an issue with the military merit?”

Xu Jin was a bit confused, but Princess Zhu Linxiao immediately understood, ”Husband, then we should quickly follow Mr. Liu to handle this matter, this is indeed a good thing, Mr. Liu, we trouble you.”

”Please!”

Liu Gaoyang led the way, and the three streams of starlight instantly headed towards the Spiritual Resources Hall.

Inside the Spiritual Resources Hall, Liou Gaojie first handed Xu Jin a jade scroll relating to Tongxuan Domain’s military merit records for Xu Jin to view. As Xu Jin swept through it with his Divine Thought and finished reading, he suddenly understood why True Monarch Tianzhang had ordered Liu Gaoyang to handle this matter as soon as possible.

This counted as another layer of protection for Xu Jin.

Tongxuan Domain places great importance on military merit.

There are countless Star Lords across the whole Tongxuan Domain, and at least hundreds of True Monarchs, but Title Star Lords and Title True Monarchs are scarce.

For instance, Qu Shanze, the Star Monarch who previously suffered a great loss at Xu Jin’s hands, as well as Liao Jin, who previously fought on Dongxuan Island, can only serve others due to insufficient military merit and noble rank.

Take the Xiji Star Monarch Liu Xi as an example, he is a typical Title Star Monarch, capable of establishing a mansion and being granted a Star Domain. A Title Star Monarch is relatively independent in any Star Realm, possesses greater autonomy, and even has the qualification to participate in central meetings within the Dongxuan Star Realm.

But Qu Shanze and Liao Jin don’t have this advantage.

Without sufficient military merit, even Su Shize doesn’t have that qualification.

To put it bluntly, no matter how strong your cultivation level or high your combat power is, without military merit, you haven’t contributed to Tongxuan Domain, and thus cannot acquire higher-level privileges.

The military merit system of the entire Tongxuan Domain is relatively simple, divided into Star Brave, Star Hero, World Brave, World Champion, Tongxuan Star General, Tongxuan Star Commander, Title Star Lord, Title True Monarch, with eight classes and twenty-four tiers.

Each class is divided into Third Grade, Second Grade, and First Grade.

There are also corresponding treatments.

Firstly, as long as one acquires military merit recognized by the Tongxuan Imperial Palace, they can upgrade their identity token to a Tongxuan Token first thing, allowing them to freely roam through the Five Great Star Realms, over thirty Middle Worlds, and over thirty thousand Small Worlds of the Tongxuan Domain.

The recognition of military merit is quite straightforward: Slaying a Seventh Tier enemy starts at one military merit point, an Eighth Tier enemy starts at ten points, a Ninth Tier enemy starts at one hundred points, a Tenth Tier enemy starts at one thousand points, and slaying an Eleventh Tier enemy starts at fifty thousand points.

Apart from this hard requirement, severely injuring or repelling invaders grants different amounts of military merit points.

With fifty points of military merit, one can become a Third Grade Star Brave, and their identity token can be exchanged for a Tongxuan Token. One hundred points grants Second Grade, two hundred points grants First Grade Star Brave.

With four hundred points, one can become a Third Grade Star Hero; sixteen hundred points grants First Grade Star Hero.

Accumulating three thousand points, one can become a Third Grade World Brave.

Starting from Third Grade World Brave, things change.

Third Grade World Brave’s files are sent to the Tongxuan Imperial Palace, which checks their whereabouts and life status annually. If reported as fallen in battle, the Palace will re-examine the reason for death. If they disappear without cause or die from assassination, the Imperial Palace will investigate personally to uncover the truth and track the culprit.

The higher the rank in military merit and noble title, the greater the Tongxuan Imperial Palace’s attention.

Xu Jin already understood True Monarch Tianzhang’s intention.

It’s essentially about delivering his record directly to the Tongxuan Imperial Palace through military merit.

Of course, expecting eternal safety just by establishing a military merit title is impossible.

But it certainly acts as deterrence.

Once Xu Jin’s military merit title is archived in the Tongxuan Imperial Palace, anyone attempting to harm Xu Jin would face much greater difficulty.

Everything would have to be flawless; even arranging for Xu Jin to perish in battle must be done justifiably and reasonably, increasing the difficulty of operations.

The greater the difficulty, the more flaws arise, also thereby adding an extra level of protection for Xu Jin.

Moving up, a Third Grade World Champion requires military merit starting at ten thousand, then a Third Grade Tongxuan Star General needs military merit starting at forty thousand, while a Third Grade Tongxuan Star Commander requires seventy thousand military merits.

A Third Grade Title Star Lord requires military merit starting at one hundred thousand.

As for a Third Grade Title True Monarch, it requires military merit starting at two hundred thousand.

It’s really challenging!

But after each tier of noble rank, the treatment is completely different.

For example, starting from the Third Grade Tongxuan Star General, there is one drop of All Heaven Star Dew included in the fixed annual noble salary. It’s truly splendid benefits!

What delighted Xu Jin even more, however, was the battle merit calculation this time from True Monarch Tianzhang or rather, the Dongxuan Dao Palace on this side.

Teaming up with Zhang Huai to kill two Star Monarchs, Xu Jin alone earned ten thousand war merit points!

With Zhang Huai, fearlessly fought into the death against an invading Star Monarch from Golden Roc Star Realm, along with two Star Monarchs, securing the Teleportation Array, and ensuring the star realm reinforcements arrived smoothly, Xu Jin was designated as the first merit in defending Dongxuan Island!

A special reward of thirty thousand war merit points!

Thus, from this single battle, Xu Jin alone earned forty thousand war merit points!

After reporting this, Tongxuan Imperial Palace today approved it, and True Monarch Tianzhang specially arranged for Liou Gaoyang to handle the matter for Xu Jin.

”Mr. Xu, no, from now on, you should be addressed as Star General Lord! This is your Tongxuan Order, please keep it safe!” Liou Gaojie handed the newly exchanged Tongxuan Order to Xu Jin with both hands.

This made Xu Jin feel uneasy, and he quickly declined modestly, ”Linxiao Star Monarch, please don’t be so formal, I’m unworthy, I’m unworthy...”

”You are worthy!”

Liou Gaoyang insisted on handing over the newly exchanged Tongxuan Token to Xu Jin with both hands, then said, ”Throughout Tongxuan Domain, military merit is respected! If the military merit is high enough, even Star Monarchs or True Monarchs, and even in the military, must first pay respects to military rank before talking about other ranks.

I have been around for so many years, although my cultivation level reached the tenth rank early on, my military rank only mixed to a Second Grade World Champion, far less compared to you, Star General!”

”Linxiao Star Monarch, there are many Third-Class Tongxuan Star General military merit titles?” Xu Jin asked.

”If you talk about annual additions, very few will not exceed a handful. Sometimes only two or three are added in a year, but after years of accumulation in Tongxuan Star Realm, there are over a thousand.

But moving further, like Tongxuan Star Generals, even less.

As for titled Star Monarchs, they are extremely scarce.

In my Dongxuan Star Realm, there are only eleven titled Star Monarchs in total!

Regarding titled True Monarchs, in my Dongxuan Star Realm over a thousand years, counting the deceased, only five in total, currently only three remain.” Liou Gaoyang explained.

”Star General Xu, there’s one more thing, although the True Monarch explained it, the True Monarch asked me to seek your opinion.” Liou Gaoyang inquired.

”What’s the matter?”

”According to custom, military merit noble ranks require star realm notification, of course, the scope of notification varies with different military merit titles.

The military merit rank of Star General Xu needs to be reported throughout Dongxuan Domain, while titled Star Monarchs, True Monarchs, etc. need comprehensive notification across Tongxuan Domain, sent to Dongxuan Order or Tongxuan Order in a way.

The True Monarch’s instruction is: if you have no objection, it is best to notify your military merit rank across the entire Dongxuan Star Realm.” Liou Gaoyang said.

Xu Jin thought for a moment and looked at the waiting silently Eldest Princess Zhu Linxiao, who lightly nodded.

”Report it.”

Xu Jin processed the situation.

The reason True Monarch Tianzhang hurried to explain this matter was to give Xu Jin an extra layer of military merit protection shield, which would only be stronger and more effective once announced!

One can’t let down the good intentions of True Monarch Tianzhang!

But speaking of it, True Monarch Tianzhang handled this matter very much like that of friendly families.

Definitely supportive!

”Alright, I’ll arrange it, and within fifteen minutes, it will be announced to the entire star realm; everyone in Dongxuan Star Realm holding Dongxuan Order will receive this starlight transmission.”

”Thanks to Linxiao Star Monarch.”

”My duty, for sure!”

”Star General Xu, because yours is a Third Grade Star General, starting this year, you will receive one drop of All Heaven Star Dew issued by Tongxuan Imperial Palace each year as noble salary! Do you want to take it now, or should I send it over directly using the Tongxuan Order after your war merit exchange?” Liou Gaoyang said.

Earlier, Liou Gaoyang had explained to Xu Jin about using military merits for cultivation materials exchange in the Tongxuan Order.

Especially All Heaven Star Dew, which can also be exchanged using military merits.

Xu Jin currently lacks this thing, and it’s just right for exchanging a batch.

”I will exchange a portion later and then transfer it,” he replied.

...

A dozen breaths later, accompanied by Eldest Princess Zhu Linxiao, Xu Jin ascended the stars and left the Dao Palace, heading straight to the Ritual Officer Mansion.

Xu Jin was already eager to return.

Returning to the Ritual Officer Mansion, he can tally the loot from the Sumeru Space of the two Star Monarchs, especially looking forward to the harvest from the Sumeru Space of that Star Monarch.

As Xu Jin and Zhu Linxiao just returned to the Ritual Officer Mansion at Yutang Royal City, their Tongxuan Orders simultaneously began flashing.

At the same instant, the Tongxuan Order of Yutang King Zhu Shizhen, who received the message and came out to greet them, also flashed, glancing at the message before being momentarily stunned.

Simultaneously, within the entire Yutang Royal Mansion and Yutang Royal City, all Ritual Officers, family members, and guards holding Dongxuan Orders began flashing with starlight simultaneously.

Not just Yutang Royal City, throughout Dongxuan Star Realm, the five great Middle Worlds under Dongxuan Star Realm, and within nearly ten thousand Small Worlds, everyone holding Dongxuan Orders and within related star domains rapidly flashed.

The same transmission flashed three times!

In just an instant, the name Xu Jin was spread throughout Dongxuan Star Realm!
