Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 1283: Chapter 513: Traitors and Seizing Military Power

The dossier was recorded with a Jade, and Xu Jin immersed his mind into it. It only took a few breaths for him to understand it thoroughly.

The case indeed fell under the purview of the Blood Hawk—catching a traitor!

Simply put, there was an insider discovered within the Blood God Sect, and this insider’s level was not likely low, very possibly a middle and high-level member.

The clues were scarce, mostly speculative.

In a previous account given by Great Commander Zhong Ji to Xu Jin, teams executing tasks for the Blood God Sect were repeatedly ambushed accurately by the Alien Races of the Eight Desolate Continent.

And it was the kind of ambush where there were no surviving witnesses.

The high-level members of the Blood God Sect suspected an insider within and thus ordered the Judicial Hall to investigate quickly.

Originally there was no direction, but at the end of the dossier, several investigation directions were clearly pointed out.

Blood God Guards, Blood Moon Army, Blood Cloud Army, Iron Blood Army.

Just these four directions.

It was said the relevant intelligence judged the insider was within these four troops.

If Xu Jin hadn’t previously communicated with Great Commander Zhong Ji about the internal situation of the Blood God Sect, he would have been completely clueless and truly believed it was a mission to catch an insider.

But now, combining with the information previously received, Xu Jin immediately understood, that although insiders were hard to catch, this task was very manageable.

The hidden intention lay within these four armies.

On the way here, Zhong Ji roughly told Xu Jin about the current internal situation of the Blood God Sect or rather the power structure.

In essence, the most important powers of any faction were four: personnel power, financial power, military power, and judicial power.

The organizational structure of the Blood God Sect was massive, but no matter how complex, it could be divided into these four powers.

Currently, the financial power and part of the judicial power were held by the Vice Sect Hierarch, i.e., Emperor Dahong.

As for personnel power, high-level personnel power was wielded by the elusive Sect Hierarch of the Blood God Sect, while middle and low-level personnel power was divided between the Left and Right Protectors.

Military power was also in the hands of the Left and Right Protectors.

Currently, the organized military power of the Blood God Sect consisted of these four military forces: Blood God Guards, Blood Moon Army, Moon Cloud Army, Iron Blood Army.

The subjects of suspicion listed in the dossier included all these military forces.

Thus, the target of this mission by the Judicial Hall was clear: to interfere with the military power of the Blood God Sect under the guise of catching an insider.

In an instant, Xu Jin realized that this was likely a strategy personally arranged by Emperor Dahong.

Then why would such an important matter be assigned to someone like him, a nominal member?

Others might not know Xu Jin’s true identity, but Emperor Dahong certainly did!

The likelihood of coincidence was very low.

The real plan was to borrow a knife to kill!

Borrowing a knife...

To seize some military power, even with a legitimate excuse, would inevitably lead to conflict.

In this way, Xu Jin became Emperor Dahong’s weapon, intending to utilize Xu Jin’s extraordinary combat power.

Similarly, when the conflict reached its peak, Emperor Dahong might push Xu Jin forward to bear the brunt of the blade!

Just in time to borrow the knife of the Left and Right Protectors to kill Xu Jin!

These were thoughts that dawned on Xu Jin after reading the dossier.

But the details would certainly be more complex than that.

At present, he could only accept the challenge, then proceed step by step.

But one aspect was beneficial.

According to the intelligence previously obtained from Blood God’s Son, Hong Daze, Teacher Qi Shanye and Uncle Mo Ji, due to their strong Divine Soul Cultivation, were under special training and were placed in the army as officers after their Divine Souls were controlled.

Thus, Teacher Qi Shanye and Uncle Mo Ji must be within these four armies.

This was indeed a good opportunity.

It was convenient for Xu Jin to find the whereabouts of Teacher Qi Shanye and Uncle Mo Ji, and then seek an opportunity to rescue them!

This was also considered lucky.

Emperor Dahong couldn’t have anticipated that he was in the Blood God Sect’s army to find people.

A fortunate thing.

”So, do you have confidence?” Mr. Mu, as thin as a bamboo pole, squinted his narrow eyes as he looked down and asked Xu Jin.

”Elder, being new here, I’m not familiar with many things yet, but I will try my best,” Xu Jin replied.

”Trying your best is not enough!

You only have half a month.” Mr. Mu stated.

”Half a month?” Xu Jin was taken aback, ”Elder, there are not many clues in this case, in half a month’s time, it’s really...”

In the next moment, Mr. Mu waved his hand and rudely interrupted Xu Jin, ”You must understand, I’m not discussing this with you, I’m ordering you!

This order wasn’t issued by me.

But by the two Protectors.

Understood?

In fifteen days, report the results to me.

If you can’t, the entire Blood Hawk will be held accountable together.” Mr. Mu commanded.

Xu Jin slightly frowned but promptly agreed.

Fifteen days is fifteen days.

In fifteen days, it would also be enough time for him to find the whereabouts of his teacher.

Moreover, Xu Jin believed that Emperor Dahong made such an arrangement for the sake of seizing power, not to make things difficult for him.

There’s no such need.

If truly wanting to kill Xu Jin, they could secretly mobilize forces for an ambush.

No excuse needed.

Seeing Xu Jin agree, Mr. Mu added, ”There’s some inconvenient-to-divulge internal information on this case, which I will explain to Zhong Ji, and by then, it should facilitate your handling of the case.

Alright, you may leave now.”

Hearing these words, Xu Jin naturally withdrew, but glanced towards Zhong Ji.

”Alright, you go wait for me outside the hall.” Zhong Ji said to Xu Jin, then turned to Mr. Mu of the Judicial Hall and said, ”He just arrived; he doesn’t even know our Blood Hawk’s base yet.”

Mr. Mu waved his hand, signaling Xu Jin to leave.

It was clear there were things to be instructed to Zhong Ji.
