Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 762: Chapter 308: Fifth Tier Gathering Star Array

The Galaxy Battlefield, in many contemporary tomes, is the illustrious meritorious achievement of the present-day Human Race expanding territories!

It is the military honor awarded to the present-day Human Race for their resistance against the invasion of Alien Races from other Star Domains!

The Galaxy Battlefield began as a single galaxy.

At this moment, Xu Jin is overlooking from the deck or rather navigating through this very galaxy.

The Starship, now with its Starlight Shield activated, has specks of starlight twinkling outside the shield.

It is said that each pinpoint represents a Star Domain, representing a world unto itself.

These dots of light seem within reach yet are actually far beyond grasp.

Visible, yet intangible.

According to the ’Galaxy Record,’ numerous Seventh Tier and even Eighth Tier Great Powers have attempted to traverse the galaxy with their physical bodies in pursuit of starlight. Some returned after years without success, while others never returned at all.

To enter these Star Domains, one can only do so at specific locations within the galaxy, which can be directly crossed into, known as the Galaxy Channel.

Within the galaxy, there are many known Galaxy Channels, and even more unknown ones.

And the main battle region of the Four Major Battle Zones is located in the area with the most Galaxy Channels. Other smaller Battle Cities are also established near Galaxy Channels.

But the places suitable for building cities are not above the galaxy itself.

It will be the Star Domains that the present-day Human Race will conquer and thoroughly penetrate. This penetration means literal and actual penetration, after which connections will be made, forming the mainland of the current Galaxy Battlefield, consisting of the Four Major Battle Zones—that is, four continents—as well as the so-called wonders of Star Cities.

The saying ”each city is its own Heaven and Earth” came about in this way.

The Starship keeps entering and exiting various penetrated Star Domains, and, in just half a day, Xu Jin has seen various unique worlds.

The cultivators on the deck of the Starship have also begun to converse during the journey.

As for Xu Jin, he is more of a spectator.

More than half of the three hundred-plus cultivators on board this Starship are Loose Cultivators, and a third are clan descendants, with less than a quarter being official disciples of the four major powers.

Loose Cultivators mostly head to the Galaxy Battlefield to compete for fortune and a future!

Because in the present day, it is more about competing for talent, status, and family background.

But on the Galaxy Battlefield, it’s all about competing for War Merit, strength, and luck!

War Merit is wealth, and as long as you have enough of it, you can buy Star Patterns and Star Skills unavailable in the present world, as well as Cultivation resources you couldn’t even come into contact with in the present world.

And luck is also a part of strength.

Some Loose Cultivators encounter beings of one or two higher Tiers on their first venture, resulting in death and oblivion—it’s simply bad luck.

Some Loose Cultivators are quite fortunate, always managing to meet Alien Races of similar or weaker strength, or stumbling upon opportunities.

Of course, just one instance of bad luck, and it’s all over.

Luck is a challenging aspect to account for.

But it cannot be denied that often, luck is also a part of strength.

In the end, it all comes down to actual strength.

Present-day rule is under the various Star Halls and the imperial authority, but on the Galaxy Battlefield, the influence of the Star Halls and imperial power is relatively minor; what matters more is strength.

For instance, now on this Starship, Xu Jin has observed distinct differences:

Whether one is Third Tier, Fourth Tier, or a Fifth Tier Expert, the ticket price remains the same at the starting price of ten strands of Starlight.

Yet, the treatment is different.

Third Tier individuals have no rights, not even a place to sit; they must buy their own food and drink and step aside at a rebuke from any Fourth or Fifth Tier cultivator.

Those of the Fourth Tier have slightly better treatment, with each person being provided a cushion to meditate and ponder upon; but still, they must purchase their own food and drink.

Xu Jin always kept jerky and water ready in his Sumeru Space, but here he didn’t incautiously take it out. Instead, he spent a Third Tier Star Jade to buy three days’ worth of food.

Fifth Tier Experts receive complimentary food and water, not to mention private rooms for rest.

When Xu Jin first learned that the same ticket price came with different treatment, his initial reaction was to argue for an explanation.

But it was only a fleeting thought before he suppressed the idea.

It was his past life’s so-called ’fairness’ ideals at play.

Even those at the Fourth-order Ninth Layer Peak step aside immediately upon encountering a Fifth Tier Expert.

A glimpse of the part reveals the nature of the whole!

Upon entering the Galaxy Battlefield, even the Starship’s regime is such—let alone the actual ecology of the Galaxy Battlefield.

Strength is supreme, with no semblance of civility.

Yet Xu Jin is somewhat looking forward to it.

It is much better than the constraints of the present world!

In the two and a half days of travel, Xu Jin has interacted with his fellow travelers under the guise of a Fourth Tier Loose Cultivator novice heading to the Galaxy Battlefield in search of opportunities.

There are kindly people all around.

Xu Jin fully utilized his past life’s superpower of sweet-talking, addressing everyone as ’senior’ or ’big brother,’ and while getting along well, he also learned many survival tips.

For example, the number one survival principle for Loose Cultivators on the Galaxy Battlefield is to find and join a mercenary team or a gang.

It’s best to join a mercenary team.

The income is the highest and most stable, but the downside is that reinforcements are scarce in danger.

The benefit of joining a gang is that they cover the disadvantage of mercenary teams; in times of peril, there’s rescue, in times of trouble, there’s support, and there are more resources for information. However, treasures fought for with one’s life are taxed by the gang—who knows when you might be sold out as cannon fodder.

Of course, one can also join the official army after several layers of screening.
