Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 420: Chapter 185 Apology

Xu Jin was surprised that Qi Shanye did not reply to him right away.

Xu Jin waited for a full fifteen minutes before he received a very formal and lengthy Starlight Transmission from Qi Shanye.

[Jin’er, I understand your thoughts and know how much you love your sister and want to give her the best you have.

However, my advice is: no, not now at least.

There are three reasons: The first is that your sister is too young, only fifteen years old, her mind not yet mature. Matters of life and death are prone to leakage, and if you make clear the importance, it could also bring her greater psychological pressure.

The second reason is that your sister’s talent is unknown. If her talent is mediocre or just above average, passing these things on to her would be wasting her time. A genius like you is rarely seen in a century.

The third reason is that your strength is not strong enough. Once your cultivation level breaks through to the fifth tier, then you’ll have the basic power to protect yourself. At the worst, with your skill, you could live an outlaw’s life like me.

So I think it’s better not to teach her for the time being.

Whether Jiang’er’s Star Pointing talent is above average, excellent, or even unparalleled, do not pass it on. Wait a few years, until you are stronger and Jiang’er is more mature. Then, you can consider teaching her some Star Patterns, such as the Mingji Star Pattern, or the Suppressing Intent Star Pattern of the sixth tier middle level I deduced in the Lingji Star Hall, to slightly improve her strength in an orderly fashion.

Moreover, with your current status and cultivation resources at the Da Chen National Daoist School, even if Jiang’er only trains within the system of the school, she won’t be doing badly.

Remember, too much is as bad as too little.

Jiang’er is still young, so let her grow up happy and naturally for a few more years. It won’t be too late for her to take on these burdens when she’s older and stronger.

Remember, cultivation is not just about becoming stronger.

It is about experiencing the many wonderful things in this world.]

Xu Jin read Qi Shanye’s long letter three times carefully before he took a long breath; a knot in his heart seemed to loosen slightly.

Qi surely had a discerning and critical eye and had pinpointed the crux of the issue.

In fact, Xu Jin’s indecision stemmed from his desire to give the best to his sister.

Indeed, the Secret Star Patterns of the Lingji Star Hall, such as Clear Soul and Mingji, were among the best and rarest in the world—those were the best things Xu Jin had at his disposal.

Giving them to Jiang’er would put her in danger.

Yet not giving them to her, Xu Jin felt a sense of guilt, feeling that if Jiang’er’s cultivation was unsatisfactory or her cultivation level not high enough in the future, it would be because he hadn’t given her the best.

Thus he had been conflicted for several days.

Now, with Qi’s words, Xu Jin saw things more clearly.

Go with the flow!

Additionally, the last sentence from Qi made Xu Jin feel somewhat astonished—cultivation is about experiencing the many wonderful aspects of this world.

Xu Jin felt he too had learned something.

[Thank you, Teacher, for the guidance]

Xu Jin earnestly expressed his gratitude before finally falling into a deep sleep.

September 18 was the day for autumn Star Pointing registration at the National Daoist School.

Early in the morning, after completing his morning practice, Xu Jin took his sister Jiang’er to the Foreign Affairs Hall for registration.

Thanks to Vice Hall Master Ling Mao’s care, everything went smoothly.

There was no need for them to stay in a large dormitory because of Xu Jin; they just needed to show up at the Outer Court of the National Daoist School on time tomorrow morning to start Star Pointing.

Next, it was a matter of seeing how many days it would take to successfully Point Stars.

Xu Jin wasn’t worried about the Star Pointing process at all.

During this time, Ning Yuchan hadn’t been idling; in addition to nurturing the Central Star Palace, she had long been taught the Five Battles Killing Fist and had been familiarized with the Simple Star Gathering Pattern many times.

Compared to Xu Jin’s initial confusion during his Star Pointing, she was much better off.

This treatment was already comparable to that of the average cultivator family.

Many cultivator families did not have a top expert like the State Preceptor to personally nurture the Central Star Palace.

After settling his sister Jiang’er’s affairs, Xu Jin went to the Library of the National Daoist School.

Having completed the study of the Initial Tier Fire Origin Star Pattern Disassembly previously, he was studying the ”Mid-tier Fire Origin Star Pattern Disassembly” today, which consisted of five handbooks.

However, with the foundation laid before, his learning progress was now very fast.

Many repetitive parts were instantly understood and could be skipped.

After seriously studying for two hours, Xu Jin stepped into the third floor of the Library of the National Daoist School.

The third floor of the Library mainly housed books and handbooks related to cultivation techniques.

According to the rules of the National Daoist School, new disciples could choose a cultivation technique to study after three months of initiation, though they could also opt not to choose.

For most cultivators, however, a cultivation technique is a valuable means of securing cultivation resources over a long period.

Those whose skills in cultivation techniques were incredibly refined were prized and protected like treasures, some not even allowed to enter the Galaxy Battlefield.

It can be said that every Mid-tier Alchemist, Emblem Master, and Artifact Refiner is highly valued.

As for those studying Sea Exploration, Mountain Seeking, and Beast Taming, getting onto the Galaxy Battlefield was a certainty.

Xu Jin chose to be an Emblem Master purely because of the Candou Platform.

The nourishment effect of the Candou Platform on emblems could only be described as miraculous, greatly enhancing their power.

Externally, it could bring Xu Jin a constant flow of wealth; for personal use, it was a weapon for slaying enemies.

However, not just anyone could undertake a cultivation technique.

Alchemists must primarily use Fire Series Star Power, with Wood Series as a secondary; Artifact Refiners must cultivate both Metal and Fire Series Star Powers, and also perform Star Casting with their Divine Souls.
