Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

68: Chapter 64: Approaching the Ultimate Truth of the Nine Golden Chapters

68 -64: Approaching the Ultimate Truth of the Nine Golden Chapters

“The door isn’t closed, come in by yourself.”

As Xu Jin approached Ning Yuchan’s courtyard door, about to knock, Ning Yuchan’s voice preempted him.

Xu Jin pushed the door open and saw Ning Yuchan looking as if she had known he was coming, waiting on the bamboo chair.

“Speak, I’m all ears.”

Ning Yuchan spoke again the moment Xu Jin entered.

With a embarrassed smile, Xu Jin said, “Teacher, during cultivation…”

Suddenly, Ning Yuchan frowned, swiftly stood up, and to Xu Jin’s surprise, a faint, pleasant fragrance wafted toward him as Ning Yuchan’s fingers lightning-fast touched Xu Jin’s neck.

Star Power surged in, targeting the Small Gathering Star Pattern in Xu Jin’s chest.

In an instant, Xu Jin’s body stiffened, rendered immobile.

Although Xu Jin’s body couldn’t move, the Star Patterns within him instinctively wanted to resist the foreign Star Power.

In an instant, the Small Gathering Star Pattern inside Xu Jin shone brightly, and his entire body was aglow with Starlight.

Ning Yuchan’s expression, in that moment, turned to one of extreme astonishment.

The invading Star Power retreated from Xu Jin’s body, and he regained the ability to move.

“Teacher, you…”

“Dining Dawn Fifth Layer, how did you progress so quickly?” Ning Yuchan’s surprise was evident, her question interrupting Xu Jin before he could protest against the sudden attack.

“Quickly?

I’ve had a lot of resources for cultivation recently.

Teacher Ning, on my last mission, not only did I earn thousands of Silver, but I also received quite a few Star Refilling Pills and Rejuvenation Pills, which I used entirely.

It’s better to convert them into strength.”

As Xu Jin explained, he inwardly grimaced.

He knew that his Cultivation Level could never be concealed.

That’s why he had openly displayed his Dining Dawn Fifth Layer cultivation to Luo Geng.

With more people aware, it wasn’t so strange anymore.

And as Xu Jin’s cultivation progressed rapidly later on, it would just be considered normal.

Moreover, as long as Xu Jin performed exceptionally well, any abnormalities would naturally be explained away by others.

If you are strong enough, there will always be great scholars to rationalize for you.

Of course, he didn’t display everything.

As for his cultivation, Xu Jin had no choice but to reveal all at this point.

However, other things like the Clearing Soul Star Pattern, the Star-picking Order, and the ability to instantaneously cast Star Skills, still needed to remain hidden.

Among hundreds of piglets, it’s fine to grow faster, but if you turn into a golden pig from a fat pig, then you’re in big trouble.

Xu Jin’s explanation seemed satisfactory to Ning Yuchan, who nodded slightly in acceptance.

However, what Xu Jin didn’t know was that Ning Yuchan was pondering over something else entirely.

At this moment, Ning Yuchan was completely certain that Xu Jin’s talent had been held back by his previous Innate heart condition.

Had it not been for the heart condition, Xu Jin would have been the first to succeed in Star Pointing this year, and there would have been no chance for Yue Daqi.

Considering Yue Daqi took three days to succeed in Star Pointing, Ning Yuchan estimated that Xu Jin’s true talent for Star Pointing could possibly lie within a single day.

It seemed he possessed the sort of Star Pointing talent that comes once in decades.

Ning Yuchan was both overjoyed and excited.

Fortunately, Xu Jin’s talent had been delayed by his Innate heart condition; otherwise, during the Star-pointing Season, once the news that Xu Jin succeeded in Star Pointing within a day went out, the Tianyang Branch wouldn’t have waited for Jinshan Taoist Institute to cultivate him further; they would have directly used their once-a-year exceptional selection quota to take him away.

This was due to an exceedingly helpless and humiliating clause that the Lingji Star Hall had signed with Dachen’s Tianyang Star Hall and Cangming Star Hall upon full occupation.

The exceptional selection quota was part of it.

The Tianyang Star Hall and Cangming Star Hall, each having branches across the states and counties, could exercise the right to select one outstanding individual per year in their respective jurisdictions.

This meant that if either of the two major Star Halls spotted a talent they desired, the Da Chen National Daoist School, State Taoist Institutes, and branch institutes had to comply.

They were limited to one individual per year.

But this was very troubling for Dachen.

It was one of the coercive measures from the two major Star Halls against Chen Country.

“Dining Dawn Fifth Layer achieved, you must be aiming to break through to the Dining Dawn Sixth Layer now, right?

You’ve come to me to learn the method for that breakthrough, I assume?” Ning Yuchan, sitting back on the bamboo chair, inquired.

“Correct, but there are also some other issues.”

“Then I will first pass on to you the first seven chapters of the True Nine Golden Chapters, which is a foundational Dharma Method involving the circulation of Star Power.

This practically forms the basis for your future Star Skill cultivation.

Basically, all movements of Star Power cannot escape the Nine Golden Chapters,” said Ning Yuchan.

“Actually, you’ve already learned several chapters.”

“Learned?” Xu Jin was puzzled.

“Directly learning the True Nine Golden Chapters is complex and difficult, extremely unfavourable for cultivation, causing many beginners to progress very slowly, wasting precious cultivation time.

Five thousand years ago, Xuanming Star Lord personally created the Five Battles Killing Fist and simplified the True Nine Golden Chapters, allowing beginners’ time from Dining Dawn Realm to Star Refining Realm to be reduced from several decades to just a few years.

Subsequently, the Five Battles Killing Fist and True Nine Golden Chapters were evolved by others into countless versions, but the original creator was Xuanming Star Lord, remember that,” Ning Yuchan said.

After that, Ning Yuchan demonstrated to Xu Jin the first five chapters of the True Nine Golden Chapters.

For example, the first move, Five Battles Killing Fist East and Yin-Yang, corresponds to the Arc Gold Chapter, where Star Power is distributed in an arc to create the Star Shield with Star Skills.

The second move, Six Harmony Shaking, corresponds to the Blast Gold Chapter, emphasizing the explosive collision of Star Power to bring forth Star Radiance.

The third move, Lifting Ten Thousand Stones, matches the Bounce Gold Seal, where the Star Power radiates from a central point outward, resulting in Star Ring.

The fourth move, Northern Shooting Sky Wolf, is the Shooting Gold Chapter, causing Star Power to burst from one point to another, forming the Star Arrow.

The fifth move, Central Leader Determines the World, aligns with the Supporting Gold Seal, expanding Star Power from the middle to create the Starlight Shield.

Right now, Ning Yuchan was teaching Xu Jin the sixth chapter of the True Nine Golden Chapters, named the Golden Spreading Chapter, reflecting the silent nurturing quality of water, with Star Power flowing gently, unobtrusively moistening without damage, which can accelerate one’s state recovery.

More often, it is used for cultivation, especially for cultivating the head.

The physical body is extremely strong and recovers very quickly, so one can use the Five Battles Killing Fist to temper it; however, this won’t work for the Six Yang Leader, which requires the Golden Spreading Chapter.

Besides that, Ning Yuchan also taught Xu Jin the seventh Golden Chapter, Gold Blaming Chapter.

Compared to the First Gold Chapter, Blast Gold Chapter, which explodes outward, the Gold Blaming Chapter explodes in the opposite direction.

Also, once mastered, it can bring about a basic Star Skill—Flying Star Step.

This made Xu Jin secretly relieved.

Fortunately, he had not learned the Flying Star Step at the Star-picking Tower of Ten Thousand Stars Hall.

Ten Star Patterns, that would have been quite an expense.

“Go back and practice diligently.

With your innate talent and understanding, I estimate that in about a month, you should be able to break through to the Sixth Layer of the Dining Dawn Realm.

As for the Flying Star Step, it shouldn’t take too long.

After learning the Flying Star Step, your practical combat ability will improve further,” said Ning Yuchan.

“Teacher Ning, what about the eighth and ninth Star Chapters?

I’ve heard of a Star Skill called Star Rope and Star Blaze, when can I learn those!”

Bang!

A flick of a finger directly exploded on Xu Jin’s forehead, causing him pain as he clutched his head.

“Don’t bite off more than you can chew!

The Star Skills are methods, but Star Power is the foundation!

Without a strong foundation, no matter how many Star Skills you learn, it’s useless.

Right now, in addition to breaking through to the Sixth Layer of the Dining Dawn Realm, you should focus more on the Great Gathering Star Pattern.

You’ve already experienced the benefits of the Small Gathering Star Pattern, haven’t you?” Ning Yuchan said.

“I have, my strength has doubled.”

“That’s right.

After successfully engraving the Great Gathering Star Pattern, although it won’t double your strength again, it should increase by at least fifty percent.

Also, the Nine Golden Chapters are not limited to just nine types of Golden Chapters.

Nine is the numeral’s limit, understand?” Ning Yuchan chided.

After speaking, as if intentionally or unintentionally, Ning Yuchan asked, “By the way, have you finished engraving your Great Gathering Star Pattern, or if not, is it almost done?”

“How could it be?”

Xu Jin shook his head like a rattle.

Last time, unaware of the situation, he quickly reported his success in engraving the Small Gathering Star Pattern, which immediately alarmed the Mountain Master.

Xu Jin then realized that his speed in engraving the Small Gathering Star Pattern was too exceptional.

Xu Jin had already decided that even if he succeeded in engraving the Great Gathering Star Pattern, he would wait a few days before reporting it.

It’s good to showcase strong cultivation talent, but if it’s too shockingly powerful, it can easily turn into a disaster.

“Teacher Ning, what’s the deal with the Star-picking Order?

I’ve heard some senior brothers say that after entering the Star-picking Tower, it’s divided into various areas.

Some senior brothers even talked about what to name their stars or something?” Xu Jin dared not ask directly, so he had to ask under the guise of others.

This Star-pointing Season, there were still very few who had obtained the Star-picking Order.

However, of the senior brothers still at the Daoist Institute, at least sixty percent had obtained the Star-picking Order by various means.

So it was normal for Xu Jin to say so.

“You can only enter at the Sixth Layer of the Dining Dawn Realm, what’s the rush?” Ning Yuchan glanced at Xu Jin.

Though she said this, Ning Yuchan still told Xu Jin quite a bit about the Star-picking Order.

Including the problems of the various areas Xu Jin might enter.

Unknowingly, Xu Jin had stayed in Ning Yuchan’s courtyard for almost an hour, and outside, disciples were already queuing up.

Xu Jin still wanted to ask more questions, but Ning Yuchan frowned and said, “You have too many questions today; there are disciples waiting outside.

Come back tomorrow.”

“Teacher, one last thing.”

“Speak.”

“Teacher, the Vortex Blade Emblem you gave me last time was very useful; it’s thanks to it that I achieved success.”

“Mhm, I know.”

“They’re all used up.”

“Mhm, and?”

“This…”

Seeing Ning Yuchan didn’t take the initiative, Xu Jin had to brazenly broach the subject, “Teacher, they are all used up, could you please give me a few more Vortex Blade Emblems to preserve my life?”

That was no lie.

Xu Jin genuinely wanted a Vortex Blade Emblem for self-preservation.

Although he still had two Dawn Emblems, they were currently of unknown origin, and Xu Jin didn’t dare to use them recklessly, fearing they might bring trouble.

“Just give you a few?

You make it sound so easy.

Do you know how much effort it takes me to make one Vortex Blade Emblem?” Ning Yuchan scoffed; Xu Jin’s one flaw was being too shameless in asking, but ironically, it was also hard to dislike him for it.

“Then I’ll buy them, can I buy them?” Xu Jin said.

“Do you know how much my Vortex Blade Emblems are worth to outside buyers?”

“How much?”

Ning Yuchan held up four fingers.

Instantly, Xu Jin sucked in a breath of cold air.

Four thousand taels!

Damn expensive!

Using it to attack someone was like throwing silver at them.

But the truth was, silver couldn’t kill a person, but this could.

Just as Xu Jin was gasping, Ning Yuchan tossed him two Vortex Blade Emblems, “Calling me teacher, I’ll give you a student’s price, three thousand taels each, just remember to pay me back later!”

“Ah, okay!”

Xu Jin carefully put away the Vortex Blade Emblems and left, overjoyed.

The more debts one has, the less one worries!
