Alchemy Master

Chapter 1153, The Formidable Chest Plate

As Qin Yichen’s rational command to stop rang out, that vast and terrifying energy finally ceased its frenzied infusion.

The powerful aura that had been rampaging through this space also gradually drew itself in.

“Late Stage Martial Ancestor Realm!” Qin Yichen clenched his fist, feeling a kind of strength he had never before experienced.

However, the Yuan Energy within his body had consecutively crossed two Minor Realms, and it was only because his foundation was exceptionally solid that he had been able to endure it at all. Even so, he felt that this surge of tremendous Yuan Energy was somewhat difficult to keep under control.

After all, this was not strength he had cultivated through bitter effort.

“Child…” And at this moment, before Qin Yichen, the phantom of Master Lu Ban began to gradually grow dim, as though it might dissipate at any instant.

“Master!” Seeing Master Lu Ban’s phantom begin to fade, Qin Yichen’s heart lurched, and he cried out at once.

He understood. Master Lu Ban had employed some unknown method to preserve a strand of his Will here. Yet even for a powerful being as formidable as Master Lu Ban, a mere strand could not persist through the vast passage of time.

“Child, I cannot exist in this world for much longer. It was only because you brought the Master Craftsman’s Hammer here that this strand of my Will was awakened.” Master Lu Ban gazed at Qin Yichen, and within those eyes there surged an expression of tenderness, the sort one might show a beloved child.

“Child, inherit my final wish. Guard the Human Race well…” This great figure who had once looked down upon all of Heaven and Earth, in that very moment, had something like a faint mist rise within his phantom eyes. Whether it was worry for the Human Race, or the excitement of finally seeing his successor, none could say.

“Master, rest easy. I will do everything within my power to protect the Human Race!” The phantom slowly dissipated. Qin Yichen kowtowed three resounding times toward the spot where Master Lu Ban’s phantom had stood, and the resolve in his voice was absolute!

As a member of the Human Race, every one of them carried a sense of crisis!

Protecting the Human Race was the duty and responsibility of every Human!

Only through protecting the entire Human Race could their Descendants continue to survive without worries!

After a long while, the fluctuations in the darkness dissipated entirely without trace, and the whole space returned once more to its former silence.

Qin Yichen understood. That wisp of intent belonging to Master Lu Ban had completely faded away.

Perhaps this was the final trace left in this world by the man who had once looked down upon all beneath the Heavens…

Qin Yichen had no intention of lingering. With a single thought, the ancient chest plate he wore concealed itself upon his body.

“I wonder how much time has passed. Surely the one-month deadline is not over, right?” Then, with a light tap of his toes, Qin Yichen launched himself into the air.

Within that earlier darkness, it had been as though all perception ceased to exist, and even his sense of time had grown utterly formless.

The first trial was to pass through the Silent Forest within one month. One month was neither long nor short. If too little time had been consumed in that darkness, then Qin Yichen might not even manage to clear the first trial.

The darkness that had seemed to pull at him with an endless dragging force now felt, to Qin Yichen at this moment, as though it offered no resistance whatsoever.

Perhaps it was related to the removal of the Myriad Dao Divine Armour’s chest plate. Or perhaps it was simply that Qin Yichen’s strength had grown considerably more formidable.

…

Within the Silent Forest, for reasons unknown, various residual divine techniques were inexplicably triggered. Even the faintest aftershock was enough to claim the lives of many of the talented cultivators participating in the trial.

Such disturbances left countless young prodigies trembling with fear.

More terrifying still, many powerful cultivators who possessed maps of safe routes discovered that even areas skirting the Dangerous Territories were now suddenly erupting with residual divine techniques beyond their ability to resist!

This drove innumerable young prodigies to utter despair!

They had dared to enter the Silent Forest in the first place largely because of those maps charting routes explored by their predecessors. One only needed to mind the Demonic Beasts along the way. But now, with residual divine techniques appearing even along these so-called safe passages, it was practically driving them all to their deaths!

Nevertheless, even in these extreme circumstances, there were a handful of fortunate souls who, amidst certain triggered residual divine techniques, discovered some ancient treasures.

So, at this moment, though the Silent Forest was fraught with danger, between the temptation of treasures and the need to pass the trial, quite a few cultivators still gritted their teeth and pressed forward.

Of course, these cultivators were also rather sensible, keeping themselves well clear of every Dangerous Territory, terrified that a residual divine technique might suddenly come streaking out and carry their lives away.

And within one such Dangerous Territory, residual divine techniques howled ceaselessly, each one carrying a kind of fluctuation that made even Martial Ancestors quail.

Outside this dangerous region, some cultivators kept their distance, afraid of being caught up in it.

*Whoosh!*

Yet from within that Dangerous Territory which all others were desperate to avoid, a sharp sound of wind-splitting suddenly rang out, and then a slender figure came blasting out from that stretch of marshland.

That figure moved with extraordinary speed, and the disturbance he caused seemed to trigger something, for almost simultaneously, two residual divine techniques were violently activated, surging to engulf that figure entirely.

*Boom!*

As a tremendous thunderous roar rang out, the aftershock of the residual divine techniques, bearing with it a primordial pressure and an ancient, weathered energy, enveloped that figure completely.

The two divine techniques erupted like terrifying cannonballs, their rampaging aftershock sending the surrounding marshland flying dozens of metres in every direction, as though everything within that range would be obliterated by the force.

After a long moment, the aftershock of the two residual divine techniques slowly dissipated, and to everyone’s astonishment, a slender figure was standing perfectly upright at the very centre of that storm, then came streaking out from within it, blasting forward once more.

That figure was none other than Qin Yichen!

At this point, within the Dangerous Territory, he no longer carried himself with the hesitation and wariness of before. In fact, had he not been worried about running out of time, he might even have been deliberately triggering those residual divine techniques on purpose.

Because it was within these residual divine techniques that Qin Yichen had come to understand just how extraordinarily sturdy the unassuming chest plate truly was.

Those residual divine techniques, which even Saints could hardly withstand, had not managed to leave a single mark upon the chest plate!

Moreover, within the storm of those divine techniques, the waves of energy were ceaselessly tempering Qin Yichen’s muscles, bones, and even his very cells.

Under this relentless refinement, Qin Yichen could clearly feel his control over the Yuan Energy that had surged so abruptly within him growing more and more fluid.

“At this rate, I would not need to spend too long before I can fully control this power!”
