Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 1106: Chapter 1106: Vacation

Yuanyuan patted him twice. Then let him be.

The two came out at five o’clock after some sweet bickering. Actually, if Chengzi hadn’t knocked on the door, Tan Shaoting wouldn’t have come out.

”Sister-in-law. There’s a call from Qian Zhifeng.”

Yuanyuan sat down waiting for the call. Tan Shaoting sat beside her with a smile.

Chengzi thought the boss must be in a great mood, indeed. They rarely had such leisurely times.

The phone rang; Qian Zhifeng had some matters to consult.

He was also quite helpless. Originally, he didn’t want to bother the leader with a phone call. But Minister Lu told him he couldn’t be sure either, and it needed Minister Su’s decision.

These were all excuses. They just wanted the minister to return to work. The successor designated for Minister Lu had already arrived, and he seemed like quite an extraordinary character.

He holds the same position as Minister Su. He was also assigned as vice-minister, taking over half of Minister Lu’s work.

Work was already arranged. ”Minister Su, the newly appointed Minister He Yuanhao has officially taken office.”

”Mm, I know. Just focus on doing your work well.”

”Understood.”

After Yuanyuan put down the phone, she took a few sheets of paper handed over by Tan Shaoting.

These were He Yuanhao’s investigation reports. Yuanyuan read them while marveling, ”If he wasn’t like us, he would truly be a talent, right?”

”Nothing unusual was found. Actually, we should have wanted him to come out the year I had the accident, but he didn’t want to.

It wasn’t until this time Xu Guozhi called him that he agreed to come out.

He’s the remarkable person Qi Yan encountered. Looking at the report, he’s indeed extraordinary.”

”We’ll find out in time. I won’t be a threat to him.

If we have a connection, we can become closer; if not, we can only be ordinary colleagues.”

Yuanyuan glanced at He Yuanhao’s report, knowing that even with an investigation, it wouldn’t be comprehensive. Only time will tell through interaction.

When the couple went downstairs, there were no longer any children or elderly in the lobby.

Jiang Zhiyong approached with a smile, ”What would the two of you like for dinner? The senior commanders said they wanted noodles.”

Yuanyuan nodded with a smile, ”Then let’s have noodles.”

”The cook knows Minister Su is coming over. Especially made some steamed dumplings.”

”That’s great! I love Master Li’s steamed dumplings, thin-skinned and stuffed.”

The sun outside wasn’t as intense, so the two also went out for a stroll.

Not far from here is the sea.

”They say there are no waves without wind, and it’s true. Nature is truly amazing.”

The two strolled on the beach. Suddenly, Tan Shaoting squatted down. ”I’ll give you a piggyback ride.”

Yuanyuan laughed, ”Why are you giving me a piggyback ride?”

”Let’s try it.”

”Feels a bit strange.”

”What’s strange about it? Come on.”

Yuanyuan lay on Tan Shaoting’s back. ”When we’re old, you’ll still carry me like this.”

”For eternity.” Tan Shaoting is a cultivator, he doesn’t believe in an afterlife. But for Yuanyuan, he is willing to believe. And he continuously prays that for all eternity, he can stay by her side.

The children came over, seeing their parents like this, and didn’t interrupt.

In their hearts, they just hope their parents can be loving, and they can have a family filled with love.

They got back late. Everyone was waiting for them.

After dinner, a large group set out for a walk, with the elderly being helped along by security personnel for a stretch.

When they returned after an hour, there was a young man and woman in the living room.

Yuanyuan immediately knew these were Shao Huade’s grandchildren. Shao Hongming really was the little uncle.

Shao Huade didn’t think of introducing them to everyone. So they also went upstairs to rest.

The couple accompanied the elderly back to their rooms.

”Why did you come over?”

”Grandpa. We just came to see you.”

”You’ve seen me. Go back tomorrow.”

”Grandpa, we’ve come all this way. Let us stay for a few days.”

Shao Huade didn’t say a word, although he hoped for company. But he didn’t like these two, the children of his second son.

They weren’t around him since childhood. There was no close bond, and he didn’t appreciate Second and his wife. Why did they suddenly come over?

”Grandpa. It’s really comfortable here at night; I want to go for a walk by the sea.”

”Alright. The two of you go together. Be careful.”

”Grandpa. What danger could there be here?” Shao Chuqing said with a smile.

”Even so, be careful.”

After they went out, Shao Huade called his eldest son. ”Why did Chuqing and Chuchun come to me?”

The eldest of the Shao Family knew his father would definitely call.

”The two insisted on going over. I hadn’t arranged anything yet, and they just left. They just called me to tell me they’ve arrived.”

”Where are Second and his wife?” Shao Huade asked with a frown.

”Second went out of town. Second’s family went back to her mother’s place.”

Shao Huade didn’t say much more. These two kids are eighteen and twenty; why are they so thoughtless?

By sneaking out like this, the family would be very worried. That’s how people are; disliking leads to fault-finding, even for minor issues.

The reason the siblings came was to get closer to their grandpa, desiring a change in job. They knew their family wasn’t favored, parents can’t be relied on. So they came on their own. But they don’t want to be workers for life.

In such a family situation, how could they be arranged to be workers? Unwilling, the siblings secretly ran over.

”Brother. I don’t think Grandpa will agree; how could he send us back right after we arrive? Is he even our real grandpa?”

”Enough. Stop saying useless things.”

”I’m just feeling unbalanced. Brother and sister both work in offices, why should we go to the workshop? I don’t want to.”

Shao Chuchun was also unhappy. Happy to graduate, but didn’t get into college, stayed at home for a year. Tried many jobs but none were good.

The sister also graduated. Parents still wanted them to go to a factory, so they came here.

What the sister said was true. Grandpa really didn’t like them, and didn’t want to be involved.

”Brother. It’s really nice here. Grandpa is enjoying himself here.”

Shao Chuchun didn’t respond. Isn’t that obvious? How could Grandpa not stay in a comfortable place?

He recalled the young people he saw earlier.

The three little kids were one thing, but that pair of man and woman were truly exceptional.

They must be Minister Su, right? Better looking than in the newspapers.

Never thought I’d run into them here? I’ve also studied foreign languages. I wonder if I can get myself into the department of external relations? That’s truly a great place, sounds prestigious.

Shao Chuqing didn’t know what her brother was thinking. She was just pondering how she could stay here.
