Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 659: 659 go up the mountain

Zhang Chunsheng gave instructions to Hu Zi, and after hanging up the phone, he stared blankly for a while, thinking only of Su Yuanyuan.

He wondered what kind of habits she had, for she didn’t seem like a young woman in her twenties.

The phone rang, and he resumed his work.

Ten days passed like this, and Su Yuanyuan had already gone through most of the books in the study. What remained were some tongue-twisting, incomprehensible books. There was really no desire to continue reading them.

By this time, it was already early winter, and the winter here wasn’t warm either, luckily they had prepared cotton-padded clothes.

The two girls wore cotton coats. The two Daoists had also changed into thick clothing, and with no other choice, Zeng Yixin and Wei Guangxiang had to go down the mountain as well.

Su Yuanyuan did not accompany the three of them; instead, she studied the prescription with Zhan Yunzhao, for she had become fascinated with making medicine these days.

By reading books, she had learned a lot about medicinal herbs, and Su Yuanyuan was a bit obsessed with new things.

Zhan Yunzhao sighed in his heart, this girl was truly extraordinary, such terrifying learning ability was something unheard of.

In fact, Su Yuanyuan just wanted to try out several kinds of medicine. She had heard the voice of Daqing in her mind, that man had once given them some medicine, not to bring someone back to life, but it could indeed keep one alive in case of severe injury.

Actually, she thought about it; there was Spiritual Spring Water mixed in it. So she wanted to use Zhan Yunzhao as a guise to make some medicine for them too. This way, the safety of their missions would increase a bit.

”Young friend, the main ingredient in the Life Revival Pill is actually ginseng.”

”Ginseng can be found in the north. I know a place on a mountain where it grows, but we can’t go there now, it should be covered in heavy snow.”

”Then let’s go next year and take a look. Prepare the herbs we have here. Once we find the main ingredient, we can directly make the medicine.”

”Alright, we’ll time it and head over.”

”Young friend, take a look at this Body Building Pill’s prescription, it uses herbs that we have here, why not try the Body Building Pill?

I think its effect is to strengthen the body, it should be suitable for elderly health cultivation.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”Then let’s give it a try.”

Both were people who acted immediately, so after telling Wan Zhongming, they carried backpacks and headed up the mountain with machetes.

”Daoist Zhan, let’s chop some firewood too, even if we can’t carry it back, there are two men after all.”

Zhan Yunzhao had no objections of course. It was only during these ten-plus days every year that he and his brother would chop firewood, as it was needed for life and winter too.

All the way, the two looked as if they were sightseeing. Chopping wood, gathering medicinal herbs, and picking wild vegetables.

”Daoist Zhan, let’s leave the firewood here and wait for it to dry for a few days before carrying it back.”

”Sure, no one else comes up here anyway.” The two walked and stopped along the way, gathering quite a lot of medicinal herbs, including all the ones needed for the Body Building Pill. This way, they could experiment after returning.

Just as the two were preparing to go down the mountain, Su Yuanyuan suddenly noticed a leopard running towards them. The speed was something they, as humans, couldn’t possibly escape from.

Zhan Yunzhao noticed Su Yuanyuan’s change, ”Young friend, what’s wrong?”

He could feel that Su Yuanyuan was extremely tense now.

”Daoist Zhan, listen, is there the sound of running?” That was all she could say, otherwise, there was no way to explain how she discovered the leopard.

Zhan Yunzhao looked at Su Yuanyuan’s tense expression and became tense as well.

Within two minutes, the leopard appeared in their sight.

Zhan Yunzhao truly admired Su Yuanyuan from his heart.

Actually, Su Yuanyuan’s ability to detect the leopard mainly came from the previous instance when she and Zeng Hongling went up the mountain together without releasing her Divine Sense, and she almost lost her life. So this time, while going up the mountain, she didn’t let her Divine Sense rest for a moment, constantly observing her surroundings.

Both tightly gripped their machetes, nervously watching the leopard approach.

When the leopard rushed close to them, Su Yuanyuan suddenly felt a sense of friendliness.

Where did this feeling come from? Why was there such a feeling? Su Yuanyuan was very puzzled.

”Young friend, doesn’t the leopard seem to have no malice towards us?”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, could this sense of friendliness be emanating from the leopard? But she had no connection with leopards, did she?

The leopard just sat across from them, staring straight at Su Yuanyuan.

”Young friend, it seems the leopard knows you.”

”How could that be! I have never seen this leopard before.”

They continued their standoff like this, and honestly, holding up a machete for a long time was very tiring.

Suddenly, the leopard turned and ran away, finally allowing Su Yuanyuan to lower the machete she was holding. ”Daoist Zhan, we better hurry down the mountain. There are such dangerous animals on this mountain?”

Although she said this, her Divine Sense had been monitoring the leopard and she noticed it had caught a wild goat. My goodness, with such hunting speed, them thinking of escaping was really a pipe dream.

But why was the leopard carrying a wild goat over here?

”Daoist Zhan, we should really leave here quickly, right?”

The two were now just thinking about quickly returning to the Daoist Temple.

But suddenly they heard the leopard howling.

This caused the two of them to stop in their tracks, even if they wanted to run, they surely couldn’t outrun a four-legged leopard.

”Young friend, let’s just sit here and wait.”

Su Yuanyuan kept observing the leopard and found it dragging the wild goat over.

The leopard put the wild goat directly in front of Su Yuanyuan, looking up at her.

”Is this for me?” Su Yuanyuan asked in astonishment.

The unexpected happened. Although she thought her question was dumb enough, she actually saw the leopard nodding.

Su Yuanyuan incredulously turned her head and glanced at Zhan Yunzhao, seeing him nodding as well, she realized she wasn’t mistaken.

”Is it really for me?”

The leopard nodded again.

Su Yuanyuan felt it was surreal; she tugged at the corners of her mouth. ”Thank you, we’re heading back.”

Zhan Yunzhao squatted down, trying to put the wild goat into the basket. But as soon as his hand touched the goat, the leopard beside him hummed twice.

Now both of them were very certain, this leopard must be intelligent. Su Yuanyuan raised her hand and patted the leopard’s head, surprisingly, it didn’t dodge, instead quietly waiting, appearing to enjoy it.

”Good, I can’t carry it, let him help me.”

Zhan Yunzhao was overwhelmed with curiosity about this leopard and found it even more unbelievable about Su Yuanyuan. Since meeting her, he had an inexplicable fondness, and unexpectedly, a wild creature seemed just as fond of her.

This time the leopard didn’t hum, and Zhan Yunzhao carried the basket on his back. Goodness, this wild goat weighed over a hundred pounds.
