Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 645: 645 request

”Actually, I’m really not used to having people around me,” Yuanyuan said helplessly.

Wei Guangxiang just laughed, holding onto the idea of sticking with Yuanyuan.

”By the way, how old do you think that Daoist Zhan is?”

Yuanyuan shook her head, ”I can’t tell, but I feel he shouldn’t be too young.”

”When I went to buy bedding today and asked someone to sew the quilt cover, I asked around, and they didn’t even know someone was living up on the mountain.”

”I saw that their utensils were quite old, but they at least need to eat salt, right? Do they never go down the mountain?” Yuanyuan was also quite curious.

”Actually, if they go down the mountain, nobody would know, and nobody would ask where the buyer is from, right?”

Yuanyuan nodded, indeed that’s the case.

”I think that Daoist Zhan is really extraordinary.”

Yuanyuan also felt the same; he gave off a rather ethereal vibe.

”Even if they have some ideas, we won’t have any trouble.”

”I didn’t sense any malice, and we were the ones who proactively asked to stay, but it’s better to be a little careful.”

”Yuanyuan, do you have any thoughts about practicing Taoism with them?”

”Practicing Taoism? I honestly never thought about it, and they wouldn’t easily teach someone, right?”

”Why don’t you just ask and find out?”

”Wei Guangxiang, actually if they really are willing to teach, I think you three should try it. You all deal with metaphysics, your work goes against the natural order, but if you can really transcend the Five Elements as legends say, wouldn’t that free you from guilt?”

”That’s my thought, so I want you to learn too.”

”I don’t know, I probably won’t learn. I can’t calm my mind, there’s so much going on.”

”Give it a try? It’s not certain if they will teach, right?”

”Actually, the three of you can talk to that Daoist Zhan about your situation, maybe he has a way.”

”I plan to try. Yuanyuan, I want to live a longer life.”

Yuanyuan could understand them.

”I actually have quite a lot of good things with me. If I could exchange them for a smooth second half of my life, I would be willing.”

”Money and wealth are external possessions.” While they were chatting, the Zeng Family Siblings came over.

”Yuanyuan, so quick?”

”I just bought rice, flour, oil, meat, and some eggs.”

”We bought spices and pots, bowls, and utensils.”

”Then let’s head back.”

Zeng Yixin directly carried the grain on his back, and the rest of the small items were carried by the two girls.

Familiar with the route, even though they were carrying a lot of things this time, they still climbed the mountain in two hours.

They didn’t have lunch; the two Daoists didn’t leave them any food, so the four of them cooked together. Yuanyuan even made dough, saving it to steam buns for the next morning. It wouldn’t be good to always eat others’ food.

But Zeng Yixin’s pancakes were really quite delicious.

”Try it, my brother’s cooking skills are excellent,” Zeng Hongling said with her mouth full. Her brother cooked well, but he was reluctant to do it.

Finally, they got to taste it again.

Yuanyuan also thought the pancakes were delicious. She hadn’t expected a scholarly young man to have such a skill.

”It really is quite tasty.”

After the four of them were full, they went outside to help Daoist Wan with chores.

Yuanyuan looked at how clean they kept the place and felt quite envious.

”Daoist Wan. Your self-sufficient lifestyle is really nice.”

”You just find it novel for a while. Over time, you’d feel lonely.”

After all, the four of them were young, and the two brothers felt they wouldn’t stay too long.

An hour later, they finished the work outside. After washing up, they went into the living room.

”Daoist Wan, we’d like to have a talk with you and Daoist Zhan.”

On the way up the mountain, they had already discussed directly talking to the two of them. It would be better if they were willing to guide them. If not, there was no other way. Instead of guessing, it was better to speak directly.

”What do you young friends have to discuss with our brotherhood?” Zhan Yunzhao floated down to sit.

Wei Guangxiang straightened his body. ”Two Daoists, the three of us are tomb raiders, something we learned from a young age. Now that we’ve grown up, we know it’s wrong, which is why we’d like to ask if you have any solutions?” Wei Guangxiang spoke very sincerely.

”The three of you have the right idea. Especially with your profession, it’s really against the will of heaven, and for every action, there is a consequence in this world.

I see from your faces that you haven’t gone too deep, and realizing your mistakes in time is the right thing to do.”

”Daoist Zhan, is there any way? The three of us want to live normal lives,” Zeng Yixin asked anxiously.

This matter had weighed on his heart since he knew better.

”There’s no way to solve it. However, time is the best way to dilute everything.”

”Daoist Zhan, could they learn Taoist skills from you? Is it really possible to transcend the Five Elements?”

Zhan Yunzhao smiled at Yuanyuan, ”Young friend, it’s not that we don’t teach, but we haven’t learned much ourselves. The reason my brother and I live like this is because of our health practices.

Although we call ourselves Taoists, we really don’t have that ability.

Maybe our comprehension is too poor, but there is a Cultivation Technique left by our ancestor here. If you want to learn, you’ll have to comprehend it yourself. We don’t have the qualifications to teach you anything.”

Zhan Yunzhao was also genuinely helpless. He had been following his master since he was five, and now it’s been forty years. At 45, this Cultivation Technique still eluded him. He could recite it, but just couldn’t practice it.

Now he hoped these four could succeed, at least letting him know the Technique was genuine, though he lacked the talent.

Wan Zhongming got up, left, and soon returned with a thread-bound book, placing it on the table.

”Young friends, you can try to comprehend it yourselves. I’ve practiced for forty years without any progress. I wish you luck.”

Wei Guangxiang didn’t hold back, picking it up directly, ”Thank you, two Daoists, we’ll give it a try.”

”Don’t rush, young friend. Although I haven’t comprehended the Cultivation Technique, I’ve done some research on the Five Elements and physiognomy. Your three faces bespeak no great calamities, just follow your conscience.” The brotherhood then left.

”Let’s study it together. We can discuss anything unclear.”

”You three study it; I’m not interested. I’ll go cook.”

The three didn’t insist and went back to their room together.

It was still early to cook, so Yuanyuan stood up, wanting to take a stroll outside.

”Young friend, wait a moment.”

”Daoist Zhan, is there something you need me for?”

”Young friend, it’s nothing urgent, I just wanted to chat with you.”
