Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 555: Chapter 559: The Strongest Lord in History

At this moment, the sky blazed crimson, fiery clouds stretching across most of it. The Ancient Village and its clusters of locust trees were all adorned with golden edges.

At the edge of the ancient forest, Ye Fan and his companions were eating Dragon Meat and drinking aged wine by a stone table and stools when they heard a loud shout. They all looked up at the sky.

A vast purple cloud spread across the horizon like a terrifying wave, scattering the fiery clouds. Above it stood a man of medium stature but with an imposing aura, glaring down into the Ancient Village.

“City Lord of Lu City, get up here!” The newcomer was exceedingly domineering, his voice a thunderous roar. He had thick purple hair, and his eyes shone like two divine lamps.

Ye Fan paid him no heed, instead inviting Princess Yu Die, Cheng Hui, and the others to drink, filling their cups one after another.

“City Lord of Lu City, come up here and meet your doom!” The purple-haired man’s shout shook the mountains. All the ancient locust trees trembled, their leaves drifting down, and a powerful aura emanated.

“Brother Ye, you truly are calm. They’ve come seeking retribution; don’t let them catch you off guard,” Zhang Wen said, putting down his wine cup.

“Ye… Fan… Get up here for me!” The man in purple clothes, standing on the purple clouds, stared at Ye Fan, having confirmed his identity.

“Do you have business with me?” Ye Fan asked, taking a sip of wine and looking towards the sky.

“Hand over Commandery Princess Qi’s Dragon Horse, then bind your own hands and feet and come beg for forgiveness!” The purple-haired man declared, looking down, his gaze like sharp arrow feathers shooting towards them.

“The Dragon Horse cannot be returned. And binding my own hands and feet is even more impossible,” Ye Fan replied, shaking his head.

“Where is the Dragon Horse? Return it at once!” The purple-haired man’s voice was deafening, exploding like thunder. His presence was extremely imposing.

“The Dragon Horse is right here.” Ye Fan held up a horse bone, picked clean of its flesh, and waved it towards the sky.

“You…” The purple-haired man seethed with rage. He had never encountered someone so audacious, to actually cook the Dragon Horse, and worse, to be eating it right in front of him.

“The living horse is truly gone. Unless you’d like to come down and try some? We can even send a bowl back to Commandery Princess Qi,” Ye Fan offered.

“I’ll slay you!” the purple-haired man bellowed. Pointing his fingers, a Purple Dragon, a hundred feet long, shot forth, roaring as it pounced towards Ye Fan.

CLANG!

Ye Fan, still seated on the stone stool, raised his wine cup to meet it. He forcibly restrained the purple dragon with its bared claws, transforming it into a beam of brilliant light that merged into the wine cup.

“Excellent skill!” Nearby, Li Xinyue exclaimed in surprise. For Ye Fan to transform a hundred-foot-long dragon into a mere half-inch and incorporate it into a wine cup—such a technique was beyond what ordinary people could display.

“Thank you for delivering so much Qi. This wine was rather tasteless; now it can become more potent.” Ye Fan smiled, his fingers emitting light. He instantly refined the Dragon Qi, transforming it into a wisp of Innate Essence Qi. Purple Mist began to flow out from the wine cup.

He lifted the wine cup, drained it in one gulp, and laughed heartily. “To receive a gift and not reciprocate is impolite!”

Ye Fan then took a wine jar, filled a porcelain cup, and flung it high into the air. The cup transformed into a radiant, moon-like projectile, striking towards the purple-haired man.

HMPH!

A cold snort echoed from the sky. A purple dragon claw reached out, attempting to cover the wine cup and seize it.

However, at that very moment, the wine cup’s brilliance intensified, rising like a radiant moon. It shook off the dragon claw and shot out thousands of sword auras!

A single cup of wine transformed into ten thousand drops, each becoming a beam of Innate Sword Qi. They crisscrossed turbulently, shattering the purple cloud with resplendent radiance.

The purple-haired man was shocked. His palm and fingers trembled as he finally managed to dispel the ascending sword light. With a CRACK, the wine cup shattered into powder, but his fingers throbbed with severe pain.

He does have some skill!

“Do you still wish to cause trouble in my domain? If there’s nothing else, leave immediately,” Ye Fan responded.

“A mere minor lord like you dares to act so brazenly! Today, I will capture you and bring you before Commandery Princess Qi to kowtow and confess your crimes!” the purple-haired man shouted.

BOOM!

He thrust a gigantic purple hand down towards Ye Fan, like a Great Mountain descending, emitting a rumbling sound that shook the heavens and the earth.

BANG!

Ye Fan remained seated before the stone table and simply raised his hand to meet the attack. With a loud BOOM, the purple clouds in the sky dispersed as if a Great Mountain had collapsed.

The purple-haired man was sent flying backward several hundred feet, his heart pounding with shock. If he hadn’t retreated so urgently, his hand might have been crippled. His face immediately turned grim.

“I’ve already said my piece! If I can’t capture you and bring you back, what face would I have left? I must make you kneel before the Commandery Princess!” The purple-haired man fumed, his large sleeves spreading out, covering the sky and earth as they rolled downwards.

“Not good! That’s the Sleeve Universe, the Supreme Ultimate Skill of the Southern Mountains!” Princess Yu Die softly warned.

Many could use this kind of secret art, but only a few ancient noble families in the Southern Mountains possessed the complete cultivation method. Once displayed, it could swallow heavens and earth; it was truly terrifying.

WHOOSH…

A fierce wind kicked up, sending sand and stones flying. Distant mountain peaks were seemingly shaved off, sucked into the sky-covering sleeve, which devoured everything like a world-destroying black hole.

Ye Fan’s expression changed. This was indeed a Peak technique, powerful enough to engulf the entire village. He soared into the air, taking the initiative to confront it.

“A mere minor lord, relying on a few tricks, dares to provoke the prodigies of Qi Shi Mansion? I’ll capture you!” The purple-haired man sneered, his great sleeves billowing.

Within the mist, strands of Chaotic Light flickered. It was truly as if a new heaven and earth were being created; the space inside was vast and boundless, seemingly without end.

BOOM!

Ye Fan soared higher, attempting to evade, but an overwhelming force tugged at him, pulling him inexorably towards the massive sleeve, offering no escape.

“Truly worthy of the Southern Mountains’ divine arts! So terrifying, devouring everything!” Cheng Hui marveled from below.

“Such a technique is very difficult for anyone of the same cultivation level to handle. They would be ruthlessly suppressed. The user innately stands in an invincible position!” Li Xinyue sighed softly.

BOOM!

The void surged violently. The immense sleeve obscured the sky, covering everything in the world. Ye Fan was forcibly sucked into it, disappearing without a trace.

“Brother City Lord…”

“Quick, release Brother City Lord!”

In the Ancient Village, a group of small children cried out in fear.

“Brother, please show mercy! Don’t harm his life,” Cheng Hui transmitted his voice from below.

“He’s just a minor lord, arrogant because he has some minor divine mystical arts. Even if he kowtows and confesses now, it won’t save his life,” the purple-haired man sneered coldly.

“How can he be spared?” Princess Yu Die asked, her bright eyes shimmering and her jade-like face glowing. Her long skirt swayed as she rose with the wind, drifting ethereally.

The purple-haired man was momentarily stunned by her beauty. He had seen Princess Yu Die at the Qi Shi Mansion but still didn’t know her identity.

“Have him kneel before Qi Shi Mansion for three days and three nights. Perhaps then his life can be spared.”

“You are truly boasting shamelessly!” Suddenly, Ye Fan’s cold, clear voice came from within the large sleeve.

“You think you can escape after entering my sleeve? Within my Sleeve Universe, this space is self-contained. I can refine you to nothing in just half an hour!” the purple-haired man retorted with a sneer.

BOOM!

The inside of the large sleeve surged as if a world were collapsing. It emanated a deeply unsettling aura and swelled continuously.

“I had originally intended to make you kneel in Qi Shi Mansion, but now it seems better to refine you directly!” The purple-haired man declared, his resolve hardening. His entire right arm began to glow, his sleeve radiating an intense light like a fiery furnace.

DONG!

However, something astonishing occurred. The sleeve swelled dramatically, emitting explosive sounds as the surrounding void rapidly collapsed.

What incredible force is this! Cheng Hui was astonished.

Crushing the void, destroying all things! Such force is terrifying! Even the Sleeve Universe cannot bear it! Zhang Wen was also shocked.

BOOM!

With a tremendous crash, the sleeve shattered. Ye Fan emerged like a Demon God, his palm striking out and rending the void, sending the purple-haired man flying.

“You…”

The purple-haired man was horrified. His Sleeve Universe, a Supreme Sacred Technique, had never failed before, yet now it was broken by someone! His whole body was covered in cracks, and his very soul felt as if it were about to shatter.

What terrifying power is this?!

Everyone present found it incredible. Few of their peers could escape if trapped within a world transformed from a sleeve.

Extreme Power!

Ye Fan’s Combat Power astonished them. He had forcefully broken out! Even Princess Yu Die’s cherry-like lips fell open in surprise, her beautiful eyes revealing a unique shine.

“You still want me to kneel before Qi Shi Mansion? Why don’t you kneel outside the Ancient Village for a few days yourself!”

Ye Fan unleashed his movement technique, his speed becoming unparalleled. He instantly charged over and punched the man, sending him crashing into the ground.

PFFT!

The purple-haired man vomited blood, falling like a wooden stake. His body was split in numerous places, blood gushing out.

BANG!

Ye Fan landed and kicked him, sending him flying again. The purple-haired man’s body nearly fell apart. When the Sleeve Universe collapsed, he had already been gravely injured and had lost the ability to resist.

“I won’t make it too hard for you. Just kneel outside the Ancient Village for three days and three nights. Didn’t you want me to do that at Qi Shi Mansion? You can demonstrate!”

“Ah…” The purple-haired man screamed, struggling fiercely, his eyebrows practically standing on end.

“Brother Ye, let’s just let it go. Let him leave,” Princess Yu Die advised, stepping forward. She feared an uncontrollable escalation.

Cheng Hui, Zhang Wen, and Li Xinyue also stepped forward to persuade him, hoping to avoid further trouble.

“Alright then. Let him kneel for just one night.” Ye Fan sealed the purple-haired man’s cultivation and kicked him towards the village entrance, then ignored him.

“You really… intend to be a Lord here long-term?” Princess Yu Die asked, almost speechless, as were the others.

「That night.」

Deep within the Immortal Mountain, some people were already discussing the news in hushed tones. If not for Qi Shi Mansion’s strict regulation against leaving freely, many would have gathered to witness the spectacle.

“Have you heard? Commandery Princess Qi’s Dragon Horse was eaten! One of her Flower Protectors went to argue the point and ended up being forced to kneel outside an Ancient Village.”

“I heard! That lord is truly something else, bold enough to do such things. It’s enough to make your jaw drop!”

「The following day.」

Even more people got wind of the news. They were all shocked and couldn’t stop talking about it.

“This minor lord is truly something else! Acting this way… it leaves one speechless.”

“Commandery Princess Qi hasn’t come out of seclusion yet. Otherwise, she would definitely go there and fight him to the death.”

“Just wait and see. More Flower Protectors are sure to go in the next two days. It’s a pity we can’t leave Qi Shi Mansion lately; otherwise, we’d definitely want to see this lord with our own eyes.”

「In the following days.」

Ye Fan repeatedly fought against challengers. A total of six Flower Protectors came looking for trouble, intending to subdue him and drag him into Qi Shi Mansion.

These were no ordinary individuals but top experts from the Five Great Domains; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to enter Qi Shi Mansion, which only opened its gates once every ten thousand years. All of them possessed formidable Combat Power!

Unfortunately, Ye Fan defeated them one by one, sparking heated discussions within Qi Shi Mansion. By now, many knew of the remarkably brazen and distinctive lord residing outside the Immortal Mountain.

The six experts each kneeled for a night in the Deserted House and all returned severely injured. Furthermore, three of them had arrived on mounts—a peacock, a golden divine Tiger Dragon, and a colorful Simurgh. None of these mounts returned; they were all stewed and eaten.

“Damn! That lord is truly incredible! He ate three more spiritual beasts!”

“Where did this guy even come from? Six top experts, all defeated by him! Not only were they forced to kneel for a night, but he even ate their mounts! What kind of person is this?”

Within Qi Shi Mansion, at least half the people now knew about this event. It caused quite a stir, with many discussing it.

If it weren’t so difficult to leave Qi Shi Mansion, a large crowd would undoubtedly have gathered to witness this remarkable lord. Even many of the beautiful young women there were intrigued, wanting to see for themselves.

“Just now, the seventh person was defeated! And his Purple Qilin, unsurprisingly, was put into a large iron pot by that extraordinary lord and stewed.”

Everyone was completely dumbfounded, wishing they could immediately run out and see the situation for themselves.

“That guy seems to be addicted to eating spiritual beasts now! It’s said he even specially crafted a Great Bow and wanders his territory daily, claiming there are many strange and powerful beasts there he can hunt for a good meal.”

When this news got back, many were left dumbfounded, eager to see just what kind of lord this was.

“The most outrageous lord in history! He truly leaves one speechless!” People could only sigh in amazement.

「On that day.」

The news that Commandery Princess Qi had emerged from seclusion spread, electrifying everyone.

Everyone knew that with the main player now on the scene, a monumental upheaval was certain.

“Even if we risk punishment, we have to leave Qi Shi Mansion to watch this battle!” many said.
