Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 462: Chapter 467: Pet Person

Ye Fan secretly communicated his thoughts. Facing an expert at the seventh transformation of the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm, he was deeply apprehensive. Even with Black Emperor’s help, there’s no guarantee we can handle him. Everything has to be flawless.

“CLANG!”

The elder servant in green moved his hand like a ghostly claw, shooting out rays of black light. The cage it formed was as solid as if cast from Netherworld Iron, growing firmer and more condensed, like a true purgatory.

“You little beast, you’re nothing but a crippled cultivator! Without the Wind Clan’s assistance, you’d be nothing now. How dare you come to my clan’s Divine Island to cause trouble? I’ll break your bones and sever your tendons!” The green-clothed elder servant sneered coldly, wielding the Netherworld Cage, attempting to encircle all sides. He intended to trap Ye Fan inside and slowly refine him to death.

Li Heishui couldn’t help but shout from a distance, “You old slave, how shameless can you be! The Wind Clan provided three million jin of Source, that’s true, but wasn’t it because they saw that Ye Fan is destined to break the curse? Besides, you yourselves know very well how effective this batch of Source truly is. Ye Fan could produce that much Source himself!”

“You ungrateful brat! This is a great kindness our clan has shown you all, yet you don’t think of repaying it and even dare to talk back! Today, I will suppress all of you together!” The green-clothed elder servant’s face was ice-cold, and his attacks became even more vicious.

The black Netherworld Cage emitted an ominous hum, growing larger by the second, eventually covering the entire sky. It nearly engulfed Ye Fan several times. If not for his miraculous footwork and incredible speed, he would have already met his doom.

“Even the Young Mistress has never scolded me, yet you dare to be rude to me! Today, I will flay you alive!” Fenghuang’s maid shrieked from the side, “Uncle Yi, quickly suppress him! Don’t let him escape!”

“Rest assured, I have him locked down. Even if he escapes to the ends of the world, I’ll drag him out!” The green-clothed elder servant was entirely confident, showing no fear of Ye Fan escaping. He grinned like a cat playing with a mouse and said, “He has a Holy Sword and Divine Medicine Seeds on him. Leaving such things in the hands of a dying man is a waste. Let him return them to my Wind Clan.”

“BOOM!”

Ye Fan snorted coldly and finally launched a counterattack. A blazing beam shot from between his eyebrows, transforming into a streak of golden light that struck towards the green-clothed elder servant.

“POP!”

The green-clothed elder servant spat a lotus flower from his mouth and transformed into a streak of green light, retreating hastily. He was drenched in a cold sweat; this powerful divine sense made even his heart palpitate with fear.

“POOF!”

The lotus flower cracked, utterly failing to block the golden divine scan. A chill ran down his spine, and he muttered to himself, The legends are true after all. This brat’s Divine Sense Power is astounding! Thankfully, I came prepared.

He opened his mouth and spat again. A divine gust of wind charged forth, forming one wind flower after another. They resembled lotus petals, pristine and flawless, and assembled into a suit of divine armor, shielding him completely.

“Uncle Yi, with such a secret treasure protecting you, killing him will be a cinch!” Fenghuang’s maid exclaimed happily.

The Wind Battle Robe was a type of secret treasure belonging to the Wind Clan, specifically designed to obstruct divine sense power. Once the green-clothed elder servant donned the silver-white battle robe, he appeared much younger and more heroic.

“You little beast, let’s see what other tricks you have to resist me!” he shouted coldly. His magical power, vast as the sea, condensed in the sky, morphing into a field of Innate Patterns. These reforged the Netherworld Cage, which then pressed down to suppress them.

Ye Fan secretly urged, “Black Emperor, are you ready yet?!”

“He’s an expert at the seventh transformation of the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm! Do you think he’s some soft persimmon you can just pinch? Trying to trap him without him noticing is incredibly difficult. We still need more time!” the big black dog transmitted.

“You little vixen, come on! Let’s battle for three hundred rounds!” Li Heishui targeted Fenghuang’s maid and charged towards her.

“Courting death!” The green-clothed elder servant sneered coldly. His large hand swept across the sky like a small mountain, pulling Li Heishui into the confines of this battlefield as well.

“You’re being unreasonable! This isn’t right! You can’t bully us!” the pitiful little girl said childishly, seated on the big black dog’s back.

“The little one is quite a beauty. Come, let your big sister properly teach you a lesson,” Fenghuang’s maid sneered, transforming into a streak of colorful light as she rushed over.

The big black dog’s eyes glinted coldly. It turned and fled, frolicking around the periphery of the battlefield where the green-clothed elder servant and the others fought. It shouted, “This Sovereign can’t be bothered with you! I won’t stoop to your level!”

“You damn dog! I’m going to send you to the kitchen and have you cooked into a grand dish!” Fenghuang’s maid shrieked.

“This Sovereign is going to take you, girl, as a human pet! Behold, my spiritual treasures!” Carrying the pitiful little girl, it flew off, tossing out all sorts of strange and bizarre items one after another.

On the battlefield, Ye Fan and Li Heishui were constantly dodging. Facing an expert at the seventh transformation of the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm, they were under immense pressure and almost at their limit. However, witnessing this scene invigorated them greatly.

“This old man has lost his patience! Little beasts, stay put for me!” An Ancient Banner appeared in the green-clothed elder servant’s hand. With a light shake, the void collapsed, and the Netherworld Cage expanded, spreading towards Ye Fan and Li Heishui.

Ye Fan and Li Heishui felt as if they had sunk into a quagmire. Their movements instantly became sluggish, and they were on the verge of being bound.

“CHIII!”

A seven-colored Divine Light shot into the sky. A river of starlight, heavy as a mountain, flowed from between Ye Fan’s fingers, blocking the purgatory and the Ancient Banner. It was precisely the Saint Bone Powder he had seized from the Yin Yang Saintess.

“What is this?!” The green-clothed elder servant was shocked, then sneered, “This treasure is compatible with me. It would be most suitable to refine it into the Ancient Banner.”

“You still want to seize treasures? Old thing, your death has arrived!” Black Emperor shouted, transmitting to Ye Fan and guiding him on how to escape. The Array Patterns were already laid.

Ye Fan and Li Heishui quickly dashed out. The battlefield had already been sealed by Star Stones, Divine Blood Soil, and various other strange materials. By the time the green-clothed elder servant realized it, it was too late; he couldn’t break free.

“You little beasts! You dare to plot against me?”

“You old undead, you really enjoy calling me ‘little beast’ so often, don’t you?” Ye Fan stood outside the Array Patterns and sneered, “Your time of death has come!”

Fenghuang’s maid turned and fled. She had never expected an expert at the seventh transformation of the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm to be sealed so unknowingly. She had no intention of waiting here to die.

“You still think you can leave?”

Ye Fan snorted coldly. A large golden hand shot out, covering the sky like a resplendent cloud. As if swatting a fly, Ye Fan smacked her down from the air.

“You can’t kill me…” she shrieked, struggling violently.

How could Ye Fan possibly let her escape? With a wave of his large golden hand, he grabbed her. With a slight exertion of force from his fingers, several of her bones shattered. He then tossed her directly in front of Black Emperor, saying, “Here, for you to use as a human pet!”

“This Sovereign wouldn’t want such an unworthy human pet! It has to be at least a sacred lady!” the big black dog said with disdain.

“She’s Fenghuang’s maid. Having her as your human pet to roast lamb legs and such couldn’t be more fitting,” Li Heishui laughed.

“WOOF!”

Under Black Emperor’s control, the Array Patterns shifted, and the sealed-off area continuously shrank. Ye Fan stood outside, swinging his large golden palm and relentlessly striking inward.

“You old undead! Weren’t you trying to suppress me? Weren’t you going to break my bones and sever my tendons? Why don’t I give you a taste of your own medicine first!” His physique was unmatched; how could those from the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm compare? In this confined space, the old servant’s magical power was completely suppressed, rendering him unable to resist.

“BANG! BANG!”

Ye Fan’s large golden palm struck down repeatedly. He controlled his force, causing the green-clothed old servant to cough up blood continuously. His bones broke one after another, and he could no longer even stand.

“You’re just a pair of servants, yet you dare to ambush me? This is truly bullying to an extreme!”

Ye Fan didn’t know how many times he had struck. The green-clothed old servant was almost beaten to a pulp but was still alive. Experts of the Dragon Transformation Secret Realm possessed incredibly strong life force; as long as they had a breath left, they could survive.

“Let me vent some anger too,” Li Heishui said, taking over. He landed dozens of heavy palm strikes, beating the green-clothed old servant until he was barely recognizable as human and was uttering inhuman pleas for mercy.

“Speak! Was it Fenghuang who sent you?” Ye Fan interrogated.

“We… we acted on our own. The princess was very angry. We thought she wouldn’t object, so we came to ambush you,” Fenghuang’s maid was thoroughly terrified, almost collapsing to the ground.

The Wind Clan Peacock King isn’t bad. Killing these two would indeed be a bit unfair to him, Ye Fan mused.

“Please don’t kill us!” Fenghuang’s maid was truly frightened, wailing and begging for mercy. Even the old servant had completely submitted.

“Alright then, this Sovereign will show some kindness and exile them,” Black Emperor spoke up. It replicated more than half of the chessboard and Array Patterns it had seen at the Undying Mountain.

It was thrilled. These are Array Patterns left by a Great Emperor of ancient times! He intended to use these two as an experiment, saying, “Let’s teleport them to the Western Desert. It’ll take them decades to fly back. Let those bald-headed monks try to enlighten them.”

“Nooo…!” the green-clothed old servant screamed.

“BOOM!”

Radiance surged skyward, and Dao Glyphs flickered. He vanished from his spot in an instant, leaving behind a terrifying fluctuation of energy in the void.

The big black dog stared blankly. After a long moment, it cursed, “Damn it, what happened?”

Ye Fan and Li Heishui didn’t need to think to know that this blasted dog had definitely messed up again. He certainly hadn’t been teleported to the Western Desert.

“Where did you send him?”

“It seems… I might have sent him to the Southern Mountains,” the big black dog mumbled uncertainly.

“You blasted dog, you’re truly one of a kind! Deviating all the way from the Western Desert to the Southern Mountains – who else could manage that? Can you find anyone more outrageous than yourself?” Li Heishui taunted.

“WOOF!” The big black dog was furious.

In the end, they didn’t teleport Fenghuang’s maid away. The big black dog reluctantly took her as a human pet for the time being. Then, they headed to Purple Heaven City.

Purple Heaven City was one of the ten great ancient cities in the Central Eastern Desolate. Countless legends had been passed down about it since ancient times.

Legend had it that it was once a Purple Gold Heavenly City from the ethereal immortal world, which had fallen into the mortal realm, forming this massive city renowned throughout the land.

Ye Fan and his group wandered around here for two days, visiting various Stone Workshops, intending to prepare a gift for the Wind Clan Peacock King.

Finally, at a Stone Workshop belonging to the Ziwei Sect, Ye Fan selected a strange black stone and bought it, though he didn’t cut it open on the spot.

He had already seen what was inside: it was a Divine Source. That would be sufficient as a longevity gift, and he didn’t want to cause a sensation in Purple Heaven City.

Ye Fan was very eager to select more strange stones to completely repay the Wind Clan’s three million jin of Source. Otherwise, those young people would keep bringing up the matter, which made him feel very uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, although there were many Stone Workshops, how could one expect to find rare treasures everywhere? To have found one Divine Source was already exceptionally remarkable; he had no other gains.

During these two days, Fenghuang’s maid followed them, responsible for various trivial tasks: carrying bags, feeding the dog, paying bills, wiping tables and chairs…

Many who recognized her couldn’t help but be astonished, discussing it in hushed tones behind their backs.

“What’s going on? Why is the Wind Clan princess’s personal maid working as a servant for the sacred body?”

“That’s not right. The Wind Clan’s bright pearls are very proud. How could they let their maid do these chores for the sacred body, whom she clearly dislikes?”

“Have some discernment, will you? She’s this Sovereign’s human pet!” the big black dog bellowed, causing jaws to drop and leaving everyone dumbfounded.

“What are you looking at? Are you envious? This Sovereign doesn’t mind taking you as a human pet too. You look passable,” the big black dog shamelessly addressed the crowd.

“Damn it, this blasted dog is too detestable!”

“Sooner or later, we’ll skin it alive! Come on, I’m treating everyone to black dog meat tonight!”

A group of people cursed their bad luck but didn’t want to stoop to arguing with it. At the same time, they were filled with anticipation. What kind of expression would Fenghuang wear if she found out?

“We hope Fenghuang gets this news soon. Her maid serving as a pet to a vicious dog—she’ll definitely come storming over to deal with this.”

“Indeed! We hope that moment arrives soon!”
