MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 924: Unprecedented

The upper torso of Aura Nova’s body drifted slowly across the outer layer of the galaxy, or rather, what could generously be called her upper torso. Only the portion from her chest to her head remained intact; everything below had been completely erased by Kingsley’s attack.

That she still lived at all was a testament to the absurd vitality and essence resilience possessed by beings of their level. Unless the head or heart was destroyed, or one was killed through some other absolute means, they could always regenerate, no matter how catastrophic the damage.

Even so, Aura Nova struggled to comprehend what was happening.

The longer the battle dragged on, the more confused she became. She had lived her entire life steeped in power, surrounded by it, defined by it. Power had always answered her call. Yet now, she found herself contending with someone who was not merely her equal, but who seemed to transcend the very rules she had mastered.

At this moment, she could not make sense of it all, the sudden shift in the battle, the last two attacks Kingsley had unleashed. It felt as though the man was pulling cards out of thin air, revealing something new and incomprehensible with every exchange. But her confusion was not a failure of perception or intelligence. After all, no one knew about Concepts. They were not something beings of their galactic tier were supposed to touch, let alone understand.

It was only natural that she was helpless against it.

Aura Nova’s Code Replication Command, a sub-function of her Omniedit ability, had almost never failed her. Throughout her life, it had been her greatest weapon, allowing her to instantly analyze, understand, and reproduce techniques with terrifying precision. Yet the more she fought Kingsley, the clearer it became that she could not replicate his martial arts at all. That alone was unprecedented.

Even without Code Replication, her natural, absurd talent allowed her to grasp techniques at first glance and use them flawlessly on her very first attempt. That talent had failed her completely against Kingsley. His martial arts felt fundamentally different, as though they were not merely techniques, but expressions of his very existence, tailored solely to him, bound to his body and essence alone.

Replication was impossible.

And worse still was Concept.

Even her Omniedit ability, broken, overpowered, and near-absolute, could not analyze it. It could not define it, could not deconstruct it, could not even properly perceive it. Understanding or replicating a Concept was nothing more than a fantasy. For all her power, Aura Nova simply did not stand on the level required to override or manipulate one.

At least, not at the level she was currently using Omniedit.

When Kingsley had unleashed his last attack, she had been forced to rely on Overwrite Cascade Command, an ability she almost never used. In fact, she had not used it at all throughout the entire battle until that moment. Overwrite Cascade allowed her to rewrite layers of reality and existence themselves, granting her dominion over the galaxy so long as she had the mana, she had used it to shield herself from harm and enforce absolute protection.

It was, by all definitions, an obscenely overpowered ability.

Yet even that had proven useless against Kingsley’s Concept Of Destruction.

His Concept tore cleanly through Layers of Reality, Existence, Order, and Law, as though they were nothing more than fragile illusions. It was destruction in every sense of the word, absolute, unquestionable, and final.

It was only because she had activated Overwrite Cascade that she had managed to preserve even this much of herself. From her chest to her head remained intact. Everything else had been erased beyond recovery.

’I’m almost out of mana... about ten percent left,’ Aura Nova thought grimly.

The moment the thought formed, she acted without delay, using what remained of her mana to initiate regeneration. She had no idea where Kingsley was, nor where anyone else might be. The shockwave and blast force had hurled her across an unfathomable distance. But that did not matter. She needed to heal, now, before Kingsley unleashed another unexpected move.

And then, she needed to end this battle immediately.

As her body began to reconstruct itself, mana weaving flesh and form back into existence, she felt a sudden pull. She instinctively tried to resist it, but quickly realized that resistance was futile. The force wrapped around her completely, ignoring her will.

The next instant, she found herself back within the separate plane.

For a brief moment, she was stunned. The plane should have been destroyed. Erased entirely. But realization dawned quickly, Klaus had simply created another one on the spot, rebuilding a battleground for them to continue their clash.

At that moment, Aura Nova spotted Kingsley.

He was kneeling on one knee, one hand braced against the ground. The last attack had taken its toll on him. After all, he had erased an entire section of the galaxy, an utterly ridiculous feat, even by their standards. His unique form began to fade gently, the golden sheen covering his body dissipating like embers cooling after a blaze. The massive, wheel-like golden halo floating behind his back vanished entirely.

Kingsley reverted to his regular form.

Just a man, a little over six feet tall, with golden hair and golden eyes.

His stamina had been heavily depleted by the limits Aura Nova had forced him to reach, yet Kingsley did not care. This was what a battle was meant to be, two beings pushing each other to the brink of destruction. And even as his stamina waned, his absurd physique was already restoring it without issue. Kingsley did not require rest or healing to recover stamina; his body itself was a monstrous anomaly, operating beyond normal biological constraints.

”Who would have thought you survived,” he murmured as he rose to his feet.

His eyes remained fixed on Aura Nova, who stood before him as her regeneration continued. Neither of them attacked immediately. They were locked in a tactical impasse, one restoring injuries, the other restoring stamina.

Aura Nova said nothing.

Normally, she would have unleashed an attack without hesitation, overwhelming her opponent through sheer power and volume. But she could not afford such recklessness now. She had expended nearly all her mana simply to survive Kingsley’s last attack through Overwrite Cascade.

What she needed now was a decisive strike, one final, absolute blow fueled by the last ten percent of her reserves. If she failed, she would be completely at the mercy of the monster standing before her.

A monster wearing the form of a man.

Kingsley Sky.
